My friend mentioned how many comedians seem to have had difficult childhoods. I feel bad that they had to go through but it's such a sign of their per serverance to turn the bad into something really good. Kevin came thru town a few months ago doing his solo "Hammie & The Kids" show and instantly had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand.

To know what Hell he was going thru while he did the KITH shows puts a slightly tragic spin on a lot of his skits, but the fact he could take his troubled background and turn it into work like this is friggin' amazing (not to mention cathartic for those of us in the audience who could relate).

The boy is a genius, plain & simple.

It was an amazing show. He was already our favorite Kid but he really nailed it shut that night. The funny thing was, there was very little promotion that he was even doing a tour (or so it seemed to me) and it was just a fluke that I was able to score tickets the day before the show, when I first heard about it. Happily, though, the place was packed.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he had someone filming it for a video or a CD.
