Kudos to Dan Abrams for sticking with the exposing of this gross injustice. Stay with it Dan - hopefully your good work will lead to the eventual imprisonment of that low-life scumbag Rove.
PAUL O'NEILL -60 MINUTES: FORMER SECRETARY OF TREASURY UNDER BUSH;
HANNITY - HAGEL;Interview with conservative Senator
Read O'Neill's book "Price of Loyalty"
Anyone who thinks Bush is a conservative read
Imposter: How George Bush Bankrupted American and destroyed the Reagan Legacy. Written by Bruce Bartlett,he also wrote "Reaganomics" and was a major player in implementing Reagans tax cuts-he is a true FISCAL CONSERVATIVE
If this winds up with Siegelman's conviction being reversed and with evidence of Rove's corrupt interference...Siegelman should be made governor again and Rove, if found guilty; should spend the rest of his life in the general population of a federal prison.
This is all about REAL "terrorists who hate our freedoms" folks!!!
It would be a miracle if the full truth comes out on this one; let's all pray for that outcome.
This story is only going to get bigger, and bigger, and bigger.
The Republicans currently in charge in the state of Alabama are running the place as if it were a Third World banana republic.
Gov. Siegelman himself told me from his federal prison cell that "Karl Rove's fingerprints are all over" the politically motivated "taking out" of the popular Siegelman, the most successful Democrat in Alabama.
He's only been released pending appeal, the charges have not been dropped. He could very well go back if the appeals court upholds the lower court decision.
They're calling for a subpenoea for Karl Rove.. well, how manyy folks in the Bush administration have been subpoenaed by congress and just ignore them like they are above the law??? Yay for our illegal government! F*cking bastards.
They are. That was Representative Artur Davis (D-AL) who is a member of the House Judiciary Committee, being interviewed at length by Abrams. Those of us pushing for impeachment are having to settle for a slower process, but hopefully it will be more thorough and catch ALL the slimeballs, including Rove.
Our Democracy is wounded and on the ropes, but that doesn't stop it from fighting back.
Our Democracy is Rocky. Dan Abrahms is Burgess Meredith, George Bush is Clubber Lang, and Karl Rove is Dolph Lundgren. (We have yet to find our Apollo Creed - the bad-guy turned good.)
yes, this all started with the PATRIOT act, and the PATRIOT act started with Cheney's Continuity of Government activation order on 9/11 that came out of the working group he headed during May of 2001 that was just the resumption of plans Cheney 1st worked on under Bush senior during the Reagan administration. So many dots, so little ink made available to the public.
It actually started in the 1970's with a strategic paper, eventually known as the Huston Plan. The government had long walked the line of legality, but the Huston Plan was the first comprehensive document, to detail systematic tactics which were way outside of the law. They included arson, burglary, illegal domestic spying, the creation of internment camps to confine members of the anti-war movement, misuse of federal agencies (IRS) to go after their 'enemies' (real or imagined).
word, "started" is really just a rhetorical device in this context. I forgot the name of the Bill that actually created the CIA & NSA back in '46 or '48 i'm not sure at the moment but that's looking more & more like it was a bad idea.
As much as a piece of trash I think Rove is he's untouchable. He has too many powerful friends on the inside. Regardless of the outcome, he'll never spend a day in jail.
they actually have the major time restraints on that, though i'm sure they'd like to get him pardoned b4 bush leaves, but 1st he has to be subpoenaed by congress (long investigation), once Rove is under oath you can bet Seigelman is only going to be the tip of the line of questioning glacier (i can see him being brought back day after day 4 a solid month w/everything he's involved with), then a case against him will be referred to the Justice dept., then a trial, & only after that a pardon.
It all starts with the Patriot Act. It's not a coincidence that Siegelman and Switzer have been exposed due to the Patriot Act and are both Democrat Governors.
I hope that Karl Rove gets some type of punishment. He won't get what he deserves because he's a traitor for exposing a CIA Agent and the death penalty should be an optional punishment.
Kudos to Dan Abrams for sticking with the exposing of this gross injustice. Stay with it Dan - hopefully your good work will lead to the eventual imprisonment of that low-life scumbag Rove.

What will Karl do for an encore now? C'mon Dems, including Judiciary Committee chair John Conyers, investigate this.

This is a ploy to get Rove out before Bush leaves office. Bush will sign those release papers if they put him in jail before Bush leaves office.
