What has helped me was talking it through over and over. This type of processing [my feelings & thoughts] and/or detoxing has helped me greatly. Also, the events referred to in the gospels have contradictions from account to account. Not to mention that the census referred to regarding Joseph and Mary is historically incorrect. The Gospel writers were in fact diciples of Jesus himself and 4 Gospels are the 4 diffrent perpespectives of the 4 eye witnesses of the life, death and ressurection of Jesus. Also, what historical Jesus are you referring to? There is little if any mention of him outside the bible. Why should the gospels be accepted at face value? Additionally, if you accept the gospels that made it into the canon of the bible, do you accept the other gospels that did not? (Gospels of Thomas, Judas, etc) They contain other stories of Jesus that are even more outlandish that that traditional gospels. Are they inerrant truth as well? Josiphus a Jewish Roman Historians makes mention of Him as a "magician" and miracle worker. Also Nero, Herod, and other rulers made mention of the one called "Christ". We have even found evidence for Pontious Pilate, obviously if the Gospel account were not true then surely he would be a witness agaisnt the Christians. I do truly find these things interesting as I had encountered this information and attack on the Person of Christ when I was still a Jehovah's Witness. Many liberal and atheistic scholars(like the Jesus Seminar) have truly twisted the evidence. The Early Church Fathers alone have already debunked some of the outrageous claims being made, as in their time these claims were fresh and being used to try and debunk Christianity. I recommend "The Case for the Real Jesus" by Lee Strobel. Thanks!

Things like the virgin birth, miricles, death and resurrection after three days, and many many more, all all shared with older Pagan gods. These gods were Horus, Osiris, Dionysis, Mithras, and many others. The similarities are glaring, and again, they all came way before the Jesus story. Of course, before one comes to faith in Christ they are walking in darkness, and although they may be gaining light as a result of "knowledge" or better yet getting to know God. But once they fully come to saving faith they no longer walk in darkness but possess the light of the gospel of Jesus.

The bottom line here is that we all deserve Hell, and unless God puts that stark realization in our hearts, Christ and His sacrifice will mean nothing to us. He must give us a heart of flesh and take away our heart of stone; but for most people, even JW's, this is sadly nothing but nonsense. This is definitely an area I need to have a proper look into. What I have found so far is there is far more evidence to back up the immortal soul, but evidence for the mortal soul is more blatant, take the Ezek 18:4.

The problem I've got is this Heb 1:3 say the Son is the exact repesentation or exact copy of God, yet you use this to say, "the Son is a copy so he can't be God." But isn't this exactly what the WTS suggests will happen to us at the resurrection?

Second, your interpretation of this verse is one of the problems. This verse is referring to the individual not group.

No need to study theology, all I have to do is read the bible, which you stated in the first place, to see that the soul (person, animal, or life a person lives) does die, and hellfire (hades,sheol,gehenna) is not a place of eternal torment, but hades and sheol are the grave and gehenna symbolized eternal destruction, not torment.

We have Jesus... He is the light. We are not waiting on a GB to direct us. When you accept Jesus as your savior, He lives in you and reveals Truth to you. If you are outside of that light, Jesus, you are in darkness, and you walk in darkness. You need to KNOW Jesus or you do not belong to Him, if you do not belong to Him, you do not have the Father either. Therefore you are in darkness.
