One example: the only time my dad has been unemployed in his 49 year old life was in 80's when Thatcher was in. She intorduced pole tax, nearly killed off the NHS. And you all seem to think that's a good thing.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Tories blab on about Labour tax increases, but what would be the first thing they did when they got in? No on disagree, they are right wing, that is what they do. I suppose most commenting on the video are too arrogant to understand the damage tories have done. E.g., bus and train fares would probably be at least half price if tories hadn't privatised.
Right wing governments cut taxes. Thatcher cut taxes on the poor from 33% to 25%, and Major cut it to 22%. No government has cut taxes that much for the poor in history. She cut taxes on the rich from 80% to 40%, which proved the theory of the Laffer curve right.
The fact is, privitisation reduced prices. Check the figures. Prices rise naturally due to inflation, but in a market economy, competition keeps the price rices down.
Actually, they would be. Cameron and Osbourne have economics degrees, (as part of the Oxford PPE course). So at least they have a basic udnerstanding of economics, whereas Brown has a history degree, which his supporters use to claim he has a massive intellect, which normal people know is rubbish.
Actually, George Osbourne has a degree in Modern History. Notwithstanding that, I think one can quite understand economics without the need for a degree in it.
Don't blame Darling. It's Brown's fault. Darling arrived at the wrong time. Brown arrived at the right time thanks to Kenneth Clarke, inherited a golden legacy, and left a crippled economy for Darling
They`re all the damn same. All the main UK political parties. This current Govt. is bloody sinister. But the Cons. tell us to vote for change. And we all know that that is exactly what we NEVER get. Nothing ever changes, bar the price going up !
Bad news for families!? Bad news for the military. The military has been very active recently any sign of more cash to help *looks around* nope not a penny. Less cash, more deaths more cash less deaths. The more equpiment and the better the equipment the more lives are saved.
Nice try Darling, I'll drink until I'm good and ready to quit. I won't be put off by High Petrol Prices and neither will I be forced to drive before I'm good and ready to avoid any increase. I'm ignoring Blair's Top Up Fee for University and doing an MA anyway too.
the labour party youtube channel is absolute joke - they won't let you comment on their videos unless you say something positive about Supreme leader Brown - i call on everyone who wants this government out of office to rate all their videos 1 star and put the thumbs down on every comment they allow through their censorship barriers - this is a complete and utter joke!
True. Why are youtube allowing a political party to hijack the site and censor comments, thus being able to preach a completely biased view?Censorship happens in Communist countries so come on youtube tell them to play fair or throw them off.
I take it you've not seen the Labour PArty posts, where all comments have to be "approved" before posting....and like the old bloke at the Labour conference, you'll end up being arrested as a terrorist if you diagree with the Stalinist labour line
also i wonder why brown/darling dont mention in his speeches he abolished the 10% tax band, and changed the 22% on to 20%, de facto actually DECREASING the minimum wage, and doing what he seems to complain about alot (taxing the poor and helping the richer)
I absolutely agree mattyr2k8. This bunch of sinister shit kickers need to go. The abolition of the 10p rate was Evil even in it`s conception. But to execute it is fucking vile, and it stinks of shit with bob on it !! Bastards.
Roll on '10... get us out of this shower of New Labour shit and back to the Conservative roots that make this nation great and allow it to shine internationally.
Osborne is a reasonable Shadow Chancellor, who had several good ideas. Why Labour had to mangle the Tory policies they stole, so the public didn't really get anything more for their money, is beyond me.
High taxes aren't bad if they are used efficiently, but last year it was calculated that Labour could have spent £101 Billion less (according to figures from the Tresury) and still achieved the same results. That's an efficiency of 84%, which on this scale is appalling.
after this budget i cant see myself voting for labour . before it i would have . that does nt mean i ll vote tory either . i think like a lot of people i ve become tired of the two party system . untill we get p.r. i m not going to bother to vote .
Nothing in Alistair Darling's budget but George Osbourne stated on The Andrew Marr Show before Christmas that the tax breaks he plans for married couples would be extended to gay couples who have formed civil partnerships.
i think osborne is currently the only MP to really have a clue on whats going on with the economy - mr darling hasn't got any power to make decisions - they all made up for him by Brown - Brown has not put any money asside for the rainy days and this is now becoming apparent - we should accept that we are going into a bad period and not tax people ie kick em when they are down. We should start relieving the tax burden in order to kick start the economy. GET LABOUR OUT!
Why is Osbourne just mentioning families? Surely the things he is talking about affect EVERYONE. I dont think the alcohol tax really affects childrens pocket money at all to be honest.
Britian won't grow cause they sold us out to Europe. If you have a brain and you care about the country, then you'll vote UKIP. If you haven't got a brain but you care about the country you'll vote BNP. If you have got a brain but don't know how to use it or you really don't give a toss either way, then you'll vote LibDems, Labour, or Conservative or not at all. That's my say.
Some of what the BNP is right. They say what a lot of White People think. Enough Immigration, Enough High taxes, Enough Crime. Back to basics.
If the engine on the bus that carries us onwards is broken, stop the bus and fix the problem.
The issue is that UKIP and the BNP simply do not have enough £ or belief from the general public, which is sadly why Cameron will be next to srew the country up.
BNP, yes, they say the right things, just like the major parties say the right things, but do they live by their so called opinions? No, they don't. UKIP have issues with immigration and taxes aswell, but they aren't complete and utter (racist) twats like most of the BNP supporters I have seen. Have you ever tried debating with a BNP supporter and having a disagreement? You'll get blocked and messages deleted, which isn't much better than the Downing Street tube.

TAX & SPEND ALL LABOUR DO. The council taxes are sky high and the services are failing hand over fist. I mean government even want to shut down street lights at 12 midnight, the reason been cutting CO2 (As I'm for saving our planet yes it would) but then it's pitch black out and more risk of crime and people been attacked. The real reason is saving £1000's a year, shows you how desbrate labour are to cut back.
I would rather pay more taxes if I was assured of a better economy, environment, education etc. but I'm afraid Labour aren't doing the best job of assuring anyone that they're getting anything remotely close to a good deal.
Frankly I think George Osborne is a liability to the Conservative party. He just comes across as creepy, even more so than Brown did when he was Chancellor!
I know this will sound strange but I would rather pay more taxes and have a better economy, environment, education etc, than pay less tax and have a worse life.
