Nobody said love them more than your friends and family. Quite to the contrarary God encourages having a loving relationship with your spouse and children. But he also wants you to have a loving relationship with him. It doesn't mean you have to be an extremist and love him more than anything.

Thanks for the awesome video. If you are looking for truth and not drowning in your own bias, it will give the Holy Spirit and opening to truly open your eyes. The problem with all those that attack the presentation is they prefer their own darkness then allowing the Love of Christ to penetrate the darkness. Jesus did not know ONE of the authors of the Gospels and those were their INTERPRETAIONS of the life of Jesus - HEARSAY...They were not signed or attested Gospels and were ACCORDING to them. No, for the reasons I've cited. Even when I was a believer, I thought the "they never cracked" argument was of dubious value in Christian apologetics precisely because the same argument can be made for adherents of non-Christian religions.

The prophesies in the Bible,Jesus resurection,are good reasons to be a christian.I think the cracked argument is good given the when and where it took place.

I suspect you believe Joseph Smith didn't truly have a revelation from God that led him to establish Mormonism. If you don't believe he had this revelation -- that it was all made up -- how do you explain the fact that Mr. Smith never "cracked," but went to his death (a violent death) defending the religion he had founded?

Joseph Smith may have had a revelation, from what he believed to be GOD. But the Book of Mormon has many, as you know, historical inaccuracies, unlike the Bible, which is still used in historical analysis to this day.

From memory Joseph Smith was shot by an angry Mob whilst in Jail. He wasn't given a choice of 'renounce your religion and live', he thought that the mob were Mormons coming to free him. Correct me if I am wrong please.

It would be speculation on my part to assume that he would have cracked under inquisition. I believe he was trying to set himself up as a Mormon monarch, and believed his followers would come to free him. Do you believe he would have 'cracked' under an inquisition? or Like I said, he may have believed that the revelation he recieved was from God, but the innacuracies in the Book say other wise.

I understand that. My point is that there have been lots of people who have claimed to witness a divine revelation and who, despite persecution (even threats of death), never recanted. They're not all Christian. If the "they never cracked" argument strengthens the Christian case, it strengthens the non-Christian case, too. See what I mean?

Well, if one assumes for the sake of argument that he believed that he had received a revelation from God and was on a divine mission to estabish the true church and so on, it seems to me that would have placed him in the same position as the apostles, who also believed they had received a divine revelation. Long story short, I don't think the "they didn't crack" argument gets ones very far in establishing the truth of Christianity.

This argument shows that under the most torturous conditions, the apostles remained true to their testimony of the resurection of Jesus Christ. yes it doesn't go far in establishing the whole truth of Christianity, but it does support the ressurection argument. Do You Agree?

Many people died for a wrong believe, that is not unusual. Look at the unfortunate people blowing themselves up believing they will be rewarded by God and receive 70 virgins!
