The early alpha of windows 7 looked horrifically like vista! And the version of win 7 IS 6.1. There's has been lots of changes since the version shown here and today's popular RC version!

If i turn off the UAC, gadgets doesn't work. The new taskbar looks like fresh vomit. There's no classic start menu, the new style unuseable if you install a lot of programs. Legally as in I have a legal key from the Vista Beta that activates 7. I downloaded it as a torrent, but that would be an equivalent of downloading the trial, and I just activated it.
And it plays games a lot better due to the fact that it focuses more of the processes on the CPU instead of the GPU. I played Crysis on my laptop that I hadn't been able to do on vista, and I also run various steam games. It took me a while to find all of my drivers mainly because I didn't look for them. I have a thinkpad so I just downloaded the support program and it did most of it for me, but I use it as my main OS for now.
Why? I like Steam which due to the fact that even though you can do "all the awesome stuff" you can play games or have steam unless I put XP or Vista on there which contradicts the whole "have everything you need" thing.
Alleged for the simple reason that the CEO of Microdoft doesn't think Vista turned out the way it should have and has promised to make Windows 7 a *better* operating system and not just a prettier one with feature bloat for security that customers who've used Vista loathe. Since MS has said nothing about these videos and YouTube users (and others) penchant for faking videos about stuff like this, it remains "alleged" until M$ releases Windows 7 (or, announces it via more reliable channels).
oh and sasuke... directX 11 isnt a windows 7 exclusive. its compatible with vista and all current dx 10 cards and will be available for download on vista as well when it comes out

I'm going to have to agree with both of you... vista was not worked on enough, they spent more time on layout and usability features, but it is still very stable, if you don't have a crappy computer... you do need to have enough ram to run it, windows 7 will have a similar layout (however not exaclty the same) and will be able to run on computers with less ram... Vista does not suck however, it's just people with shitty pcs talking before knowing the facts... so every one who says it sucks, stfu

Legally as in I have a legal key from the Vista Beta that activates 7. I downloaded it as a torrent, but that would be an equivalent of downloading the trial, and I just activated it.

I have Windows 7, legally.
And it plays games a lot better due to the fact that it focuses more of the processes on the CPU instead of the GPU. I played Crysis on my laptop that I hadn't been able to do on vista, and I also run various steam games. It took me a while to find all of my drivers mainly because I didn't look for them. I have a thinkpad so I just downloaded the support program and it did most of it for me, but I use it as my main OS for now.

Why? I like Steam which due to the fact that even though you can do "all the awesome stuff" you can play games or have steam unless I put XP or Vista on there which contradicts the whole "have everything you need" thing.

Alleged for the simple reason that the CEO of Microdoft doesn't think Vista turned out the way it should have and has promised to make Windows 7 a *better* operating system and not just a prettier one with feature bloat for security that customers who've used Vista loathe. Since MS has said nothing about these videos and YouTube users (and others) penchant for faking videos about stuff like this, it remains "alleged" until M$ releases Windows 7 (or, announces it via more reliable channels).

Vista is rock solid... if you are idiot enough to believe the rubbish that goes around on the web then you should go crawl under your rock. If you have a problem with UAC/User Access Control kill the damn service and it works just fine. It's fast... yeah it's a memory hog but on a newer machine... smokin' fast.

What you talking about? Vista is a stable OS. The only problem with it is that it uses slightly more ram due to the extra eye candy crap. But since all comps today can more than handle it you are just talking shit out your mouth.

I'm going to have to agree with both of you... vista was not worked on enough, they spent more time on layout and usability features, but it is still very stable, if you don't have a crappy computer... you do need to have enough ram to run it, windows 7 will have a similar layout (however not exaclty the same) and will be able to run on computers with less ram... Vista does not suck however, it's just people with shitty pcs talking before knowing the facts... so every one who says it sucks, stfu

welcome to microsoft logic. of course they tied it to vista, how else they'd make any sales at all? because other than that, vista has no actual qualities to make it interesting. vista will eventually be usable but not yet, probably when the successor of windows 7 hits beta. (same happened to xp, horrid turd at nt-era (beginning) but its ok as it is now (vista-era)).
