  • haha man i had this minimized on the playlist and hearing this the first thing that came to mind was "what there was a video game of the good the bad and the ugly?"

  • clint eastwood wood be proud :)

  • A fantasy-western with some steampunk elements...and this OST captures it perfectly.

  • darky my friend keep em comin this 'is' music!

  • This doesn't sound like Ecstasy of Gold, this IS Ecstasy of Gold.

  • I have to watch the good the bad and the ugly after this...

  • parts of it sounds like Metallica's Call of the Ktulu.

  • best music ever. This song brings back so many memories when i used to play this game many years ago. They dont make RPgs like they used to. They are all based on graphics now instead of story line. I wish i could go back to this

  • Plagiarism.. sad to say it.. but it's true. I think this is more of a homage than a original track.

  • @GodsImmortalGauntlet Its a homage all the OST sound like Western-Movies

  • @GodsImmortalGauntlet You know there's a huge difference between plagiarism and a hommage, do you?

  • Wow, I have even more respect for this game and the Michiko Naruke for using one of the most epic western musical scores and making a version of it for Wild Arms... I honestly never noticed it until a few years ago...

    Long live Ennio Morricone!

  • It is a music of ennio morricone, it is not the original

  • My brother started playing this game the other day. Whenever I watched him, I would whistle along with this tune. Its such a good world map theme!

  • almost would say that it's a rendition of EoG, but it is completely different, and does have a way different feel to it. Both are excellent tracks IMO. Love the part where it climaxes with the horn. :)

  • I don't get how this is Rudy's theme. What about Hope or All alone in the World? :(

  • Wild Arms soundtrack was inspired by Morricone without a doubt. He is truly one of the greatest film composers ever.

  • Now this song bring back memories

  • Holy crap the ecstasy of gold. I so need to play this one.

  • hahaha I guess everyone thinks the same when hearing that song! (was about to post that it's the same as Morricone's famous track...)

  • I agree.

I saw the good the bad and the ugly much later than I played Wild Arms and when I heard Ecstasy of Gold, I only thought: WTF?!

  • definetly a homage to Ecstasy of Gold

  • The Ecstasy of Gold FTW

  • True

  • Oh Man i Love this VGM... Great Supra :D

  • I LOVE the Wild Arms songs^^

Wish I could play WA 2 and 3 too! :(

But I only have got the first. And that one was awesome^^

  • way to short.

i vote for a re-upload of this played through twice

  • @raigntk

    youtube(dot)com/v/DSOvrM20tMA&loop=1

    Endless loop - enjoy.

  • There's no space between & and loop=1, I had to put a space there to post it. Remove the space and it'll loop endlessly :P

  • @AnduinX doesnt work for me.

  • You probably didn't notice the "watch?v=..." is taken out and replaced with /v/. Type the the link exactly!

  • Yeah, the original Wild Arms had such nice music...

  • Way too similaar to ecstasy of gold it's almost shameless

  • @eishikibahamut Holy shit. Yeah. XD

  • I remember when I use to play this I'd just sit on the world map just to listen to this. Its obviously inspired by Ennio Morricone's music which I am also a fan of.

  • Is it just me or does 0:08 - 0:17 have the same melody as the chorus singing in Jay-Z - Blueprint 2?

  • One of the best soundtracks of the PS era! With red book audio for the game, this soundtrack was incredible.

  • What a good choise of music. Nice on Supra!

  • After hearing all these great WA tracks from this list i kind of want to try it out...

  • Loved this game so much, if I ever see it at a market I will straight up purchase it :D

  • this is sooo familiar to "ecstasy of gold"

  • 624 VGM's later...

  • yeah, like the other songs of WildArms I like this choice of yours for this List of "Best VGM".

It's a rare and almost unique soundtrack I suppose.

  • I wanted to play just to hear that.

  • Wow it sounds so much like the Ecstasy of Gold

  • Classic!!!

  • this game series has awesome music, i will surely play it someday. :)

  • I've been through that whole comparison thing before.

Also, the first time I heard this was in Alter Code F.

  • Sounds really old school. Kinda makes me want to finish half the games I'm playing so Wild Arms has a chance. Also, when are you going to post the other overworld music for this game? There were two, right?

  • this song is pretty gewd

  • Well I reckon...

  • instantly reminded me of the Metallica intro music at concerts ;) -> ecstasy of gold

  • Indeed... totally inspired by Morricone's Ecstasy of Gold , but a great result though.

  • nice VGM Supra!

  • Played this game recently, really awsome music. but the combatsystem is horrible outdated now so it wasn't really an enjoyable experience for me.

  • prob cause the game is reaching 13 years old, so thats to b expected. Well, theres always FF. :)

  • DQ is better

  • You may want to consider trying Alter Code F instead. It's basically an updated remake of the game, using the standards created through WA2 and WA3. There's a lot of new stuff that helps the game feel even more strategic and in-depth, and it doesn't feel so old anymore, even if there's still no voice acting.

  • not as good though. There isnt any equipment and the game seems less fun in general. I am for the old one 100% over that version. The music is also much better in the original, it keeps the classic feel of wild arms and takes less of a remix approach. Of course there had to be remixes on the remake though hahaha.

  • Equipment didn't really do much in the first place, and instead you have the whole skill equipping system. And... I generally prefer ACF's music, but honestly both soundtracks are pretty awesome.

  • Never played this game - but the music is pretty awesome. :)

  • western music owns

  • @Valna77 The very epicenter of Western Music. :P

Who hasn't heard about Good Bad and the Ugly, without actually never seen them? XD

  • *nods*

  • Ecstasy of Gold by Morricone (from the classic movie "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly") was obviously the direct inspiration for this track. :P

  • I've compared this to the real song, and I can see why.

  • @SupraDarky Obviously. This track is extremly familiar with that one!

  • @SupraDarky Not that it's a bad thing, right? I think this song and "ecstacy for Gold" are both excellent. :)

  • @SupraDarky I thought the same thing "Holy crap this sounds just like The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"

  • @SupraDarky

That is exactly what I thought of the second this track started. And here I thought I was going to be all smart and talk about ennio morricone and classic movies, and everyone was going to be all impressed and comment about how smart and cultured I am, hahahaha
