For the Republicans primaries voters largely will allow themselves to be shit on because most their Candidate's contributions come from big corporate donors. i think this 'panderfest' label is a bit unfair. i'm from illinois but went to college in iowa, and i agree that they do deserve to be first. while the rest of the nation often complains that this little state (along with NH) gets so much say in the presidential process, what ppl fail to realize is that a national primary or having big states go first would extremely hinder the personal contact with candidates that allows ppl to really assess who these ppl are up close and personal.
