What did you do with the cable connecting the preamp and the suitcase? Is that an XLR connector? Concentric knob preamps had DIN connectors originally.
Every thing was dead and the cable was missing so I decided to replace all the connectics with a more reliable stuff , I must admit that xlr is very big but
