@antakyusilo Actually, FORD has always been more of a truck company. And their trucks are rated the best in North America for being robust and TOUGH BUILT. Especially the ECONOLINE. You can ride that thing on rough terrain, curbs, whatever, and that thing just keeps going. They are designed for HEAVY DUTY use. So before posting things you know nothing about, check your facts. F-150 is the number 1 pick up truck in North America for years.
So here we have this chap from the states driving in his "70s design tank" lecturing other people about design, technology and saftey. You have ridiculous speed limits and produce 15 fatalities per 100K inhabitants. We have no speed limits and prodice 9. What does that tell you? As long as you stay over there in your 70s design tank and don't cross my path everything is fine. Cheers.
@barnabas481 You know what? It might be a 70's Chassis design, BUT THEY ARE SIMPLE ENGINES AND SIMPLE MECHANICS INSIDE. That's why they are low maintenance and last for years. Construction guys here are VERY ROUGH on their vans and those suckers still last. THEY ARE BUILT LIKE A TRUCK. An Econoline is not a race car, but a commercial TRUCK. But I agree with you about the driving. We do have stupid 65 mph speed limit and can't drive for shit. That I'm with you.
@barnabas481 And we have for over a year those sprinters on our roads. BIG PIECE OF SHIT. They break like there is no tomorrow and they have no power. Very weak engine and body. Many companies regret buying those. They cost too much and maintenance costs are very high. Econolines have been around for 50 years and are BUILT FOR NORTH AMERICA. When I sit in my TANK, I feel safe because Econolines are made of STEEL not TINFOIL like this piece of crap Renault.
@alyr315 "Ford intends to replace the E-Series by 2014 with a global version of the fourth generation Transit platform developed by Ford of Europe". Just saying. Go Europe!
@ziparbul Well, let's hope they change their mind and that people punish them. The transit will never carry as much load as the Econoline does. It would be stupid to do that, because in North America ( northern US and Canada ) winters are Hard and I don't see that transit being able to handle the rough winters, Everyone i kow that drives a sprinter says it's SHIT and VERY BAD and DANGEROUS in snow. Transit doesn't belong here and Econoline doesn't belong in European countries.
@alyr315 As much as people in the UK may want something like an Econoline which is obviously pretty robust, those massive petrol engines would deter most people. Petrol/gas cost the equivalent of $7.60/ us gallon and vehicles are taxed heavily on carbon emissions as well
@ziparbul Ford Econolines come usually in V8 or V8 Diesel. They do suck gas, but remember, it's a big mother fucker. They're build with a Truck chassis, so they ride like a truck. They are very powerful and would outperform this Renault. Not in speed, but in power. And Econolines are built mostly for Heavy Commercial / Industrial purposes. It's definitely not a "family van". We use them often for hotel / airport shuttles too.
@Mercedes1232010 Fuck that Euro shit. FORD ECONOLINE. For power and towing capacity. Also for TOUGH and ROBUST suspension built for TOUGH JOBS. FORD ECONOLINE for carrying 1 or 1/2 TON of weight PLUS TOWING trailer. Those EURO VANS won't last what a FORD ECONOLINE can do.
This fucking thing looks like a friggin toy. Probably built out of thin foil. Man, if this shit starts rolling on US interstates, I'd shoot myself or move to some isolated island and not having to see this crap. Why do Euro vans always look so SQUARE? It's looks like a cardboard box. I guess it's what you're used to.
You mother fucking GAY EURO moron. Our vans go around corners perfectly, BECAUSE OUR ROADS ARE WIDE IN THE UNITED STATES. I would love to see how long this shit box will last carrying a ton of material everyday. I drive an Econoline 2009 and it's very comfortable compared to previous years and they can easily carry a ton without overworking the engine. Keep your TOYS in France and we'll keep our TRUCKS in America.
@alyr315 Yes I'm gay. Does that make a difference. These vans last ages, there is some '92 reg Transits that roll about day after day carrying anything. They work great. I will enjoy my safe, comfortable, relaxing ride while you bump about in your "Econoline" piece of "TINFOIL" as you would say
Did you ever drive an Econoline? Yes they are stiff, because IT'S A COMMERCIAL VAN YOU DUMFUCK. And as I mentioned, come here with your TRAFFIC and I'll smash that FORD ECONOLINE in it and we'll see which one is made of TINFOIL.
They are made with Stiff suspension, because they are WORKING VANS carrying over a ton of material. I drive one for work. My company bought a few Sprinters as a "TEST TRIAL" and the fleet managers state it was a MISTAKE. They're a piece of shit.
Finally why don't you come to AMERICA with that piece of shit and we can test it. I'll take my Ford Econoline and I'll slam into your Renault Traffic. Then you slam in my FORD ECONOLINE and we see which one gets more damage., My bumper is made of re-enforced steel bolted straight in the frame. I'll end up with a few scratches while you write off your plastic TOY.
@alyr315 its "Renault Trafic" and all your big boy vans are just so you can compensate for something. The Econoline looks like a failed design. For a start, it looks like its jumped right out a B-movie. And you brag as much as you like about your bumper, because when you drive into my Renault I will be alive, since I have airbags, crumple zones and a design that means when my van crashes I don't die. And if you fucking laid a scratch I would... well... what do you "AMERICANS" say? Oh, I'd "sue"
Actually, there are Airbags in Econoline and Savana's , but it's good idea you have airbags, because since that thing is made of TINFOIL, you better have good airbags. I don't need as many, because I'm already practically sitting in a TANK. And again, ECONOLINES and SAVANA's are COMMERCIAL VANS. That traffic looks like a cardboard box cut in the front. Can't they make something with more design? It's always square like a shoe box.
wish we had that instead of our crappy 01 Chrysler town and country
