Too fast and powerful for the guys you see him knocking out here. Most before he became champ, when he was in his teens. I thought at the time he'd be good for a relatively short time then his powers would fade, simply because of the type of fighter he was. That type never last long. His early power worked against him in a way: later he tried the same thing against better boxers still in their prime and it didn't work. I think of him as being unfinished.

@madmax8903 True about power fighters, but watching Tyson when he was younger, he was more of a boxer than a brawler. He had a nasty killer instinct, which is why he was so sensational for the time he was on top. A better boxer than Joe Frazier with a lot more ferocity. But his boxing skills were second to none back then. Tyson's power never faded. Just his skills. And that was on him. He didn't burn out or get old, he gave up. That's the way I see it. He blew his shot at true greatness.
