im gonna take a wild guess and say that NO ONE thought the initial ouster of the regime meant the fighting was over. no one has claimed as much, no one has hinted as much, and common sense tells us all that that wouldnt have been the case, esp. since we still hadn't caught Saddam himself. so, like i said- the initial phase was completed, as bush (and mccain) said. its an argument over semantics...no matter- the video HERE is deceptive (with the edit).

Yes Hussein was deposed quickly. Yes the aftermath has been rough and long. McCain's words were too optimistic, but he knows that ending the conflict with stability requires that our allies sense our commitment.

Too bad it seems that some people revel in our common problems. If we don't commit to completing missions we undertake, we'll end up with more future threats and more frequent wars.

the point is glasnost, we shouldn't have committed in the 1st place. we had an inept president, a war mongering vice president & a secretary of defense who had no damned clue what the hell he was doing. three bumbling idiots from beginning to end.

we made a mistake getting into this war; staying in is not any more admirable if it takes even 1 more life.
