The 348 got a bad rap because of mechanical issues, but it is a handsome car...not fast by modern standards...hell, an S2000 is better all around, but still it is a compelling car...ferraris just seem to have an aura.

@johntvette Dont let facts get in the way of a good argument...contemporary road tests for the 348 (1992 specifically) records it at 5.8 to 60...the first generation NSX before the 3.2 liter were also about the same...the S2000, first and second generations, were consistently rated at 5.4-5.6 depending on the magazine...the 3.2 liter I have seen as low as 4.7, but have not seen that replicated. I like the 348s looks...but that doesn't make it good or fast. My E55 AMG with 4 pax would kill it.

I think any car which requires engine out maintenance regardless of the number of miles driven every third year is not particularly great engineering. Again, I like the way the 348 looks and sounds...and I imagine driving it is fun...but there are a lot better and cheaper cars now...And a lot of fabled cars of that era, to include the Testarossa, are not that quick compared an S2000CR...and thats a fact.

I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree

Your compareing a F355 and a 996 with a C6, what planet are you on and the 348 GTB did have upgraded suspension but the whole chassis was changed for the 355 along with many engine upgraded parts. And if your compareing a car with leaf spring suspension at the rear i doubt somehow you have driven any off them.
@lawdy007 Have you driven them all as I have? I suspect not. Although not in the same league as the F355s or 996s, C6s are great handling cars. A composite leaf spring works well with the C6's double wishbone setup. Your probably getting confused with leaf sprung solid axles. You don't know what you are talking about...!

There are roads out in the desert in west Texas like this where you can drive really fast and aggresive, the highways are rarely patroled by TxDOT, it is safer becasue the roads are long and straight with a few cuves through the canyons and there is hardly ever any traffic because its in the middle of nowhere, only drawback is that there are no towns or gas stations for 100+ miles
Nothing compares to the adrenaline from street racing.

In Poland these cars could be overtaked by many cars , this is slow ride :-) In Poland even crossroads are good place for overtaking and many people go 130-150km/h on normal roads.
The Corvette on a straight.. is a beast & hard to beat. However, the turns & twisties present a real worry for the old Chevy. Ferrari & Porsche have the day on the turns and ups & down roadways.

sorry but at 2:15 when heading front to front 2 cars the driver is simply stupid. He corrects unsilky and rubbers squeek just while passing the cars. This is stupid not good driving skill

Totally agreed, karkass4. That could have been a bit of the old nasty nasty at 2:15. It's priceless that the Ferrari's engine note still cancels out the Porsche's, even when the Ferrari is so far away that you can barely see it. Even the little 348 was a beast in it's own capacity.

ja aber das ist nicht polen sondern deutschland. eine 60er strecke ist zum teil mit drin. das ist genauer gesagt eine strecke von siegen nach wilnsdorf im siegerland.

On my visit in Poland I was very surprised, how fast the Poles drive - partially with shitty cars - on their narrow streets.
They even overtake more risky then this boys do. Ergo: this vid shows nothin special.

Knapp? Also immer wo es knapp geworden wäre, hat der 2. zurückgezogen. Und mit so viel Leistung kann man auch mal bei kürzer übersehbaren Stellen überholen. In Kurven haben sie irgendwie nicht überholt, wenn es nicht einsehbar war.
Keine Ahnung was daran halsbrecherisch ist.
Wenn ich meine 5 Minuten hab, fahr ich auch so. Aber wenn man keine Leistung gewohnt ist, kommt einem das natürlich halsbrecherisch vor. ;-)

In Poland these cars could be overtaked by many cars , this is slow ride :-) In Poland even crossroads are good place for overtaking and many people go 130-150km/h on normal roads.

The Corvette on a straight.. is a beast & hard to beat. However, the turns & twisties present a real worry for the old Chevy. Ferrari & Porsche have the day on the turns and ups & down roadways.
