I don't know if you use wooden forming boards for your other pelts. But your supposed to always put a belly board on them, then they slip off easily. And a tip from one trapper to another:
1) Flesh with a dull rounded knife, and divide the rat in to two parts (try it out works better)
2) leave an inch of the tail on for your wire stretcher hooks.
@WorldWideOutdoors Thanks for the advice i put the belly boards on my coons and other stuff i do with wooden stratchers! i dont have any dull rounded knifes but i might be able to purchase one somewhere! il try the leaving an inch of the tail still on! hopefully that will help stretching them!
How much money can u get for a big rat like that one?

jurocks1J 4 weeks ago
@jurocks1J no 110, 220 conibears, and 1 or 1.5 coil springs work good

The nose needs to be on the top of the stretchers becuase the rat will be longer when you go to sell it and you'll get more money.
