OMG!!! My dogs always did this. My rottie and my pitbull mix. 2xs at the same time while I was walking them and I thought maybe the walk was to long for them. It started out with the rot and I waited for him to get up for 10min., the next day again and the next.I got tierd of carrying him home. All of a sudden the pit was like wtf if hes not walking then neither am I so I had both of them and I wasn't gonna carry them both back. Rot died of diabetes and pit walked himself got hit by a big rig.

You need to be the alpha, and when you walk, he walks. The leash should never have any tension on it and should be completely optional, as the dog should be following you on your left side and head your commands. Makes for a happy human and a happy dog feeling safe and secure with his alpha.
