  • Obviously you aren't much of an engineer or you would know when you put a turbo on a 2 Smoke it becomes a time bomb. The 2 strokes won't run with the Yamaha 4 strokes. Why do you think nobody builds them. It's futile. Oh, and the few minutes they do run with a turbo, they just don't produce the power like the 4 strokes do.

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMMM Triple

  • 2 strokes last longer then 4 strokes ??? ....... Are you guys fucking retarded. On what planet is that the case. There's a yami with a record of some 40,000 km and only a valve adjustment. I can't believe some of the shit I hear on YouTube.

  • Fuck off 4 stroke noone likes you

  • The half driveExperience when you drive a triple, is the sound!

  • I guess a car with a twostroke would need at least ten gears.its best at peakpower and has a very narow torque curve.

  • i thought there was a bee flying around the camera guy then i was like oh wait. thats a sled

  • The word is TRIPLE, not "tripple"

  • ha the triple sounds soo much more badass, but i give the hp to the yamadog

  • you cant compare a 800 triple with a 1000 TURBO but 4stroke's are still good.

  • @crazzym7 everybody does though, and yami's get dogged on for being heavy, but it doesn't make a bit of difference

  • notice the paths taken..... the rx1 was pussy

  • @xXBRAAAAAAAAPXx He went in a straight line- just like the other sled- only difference is the "pussy" as you referred it to had about a thousand foot longer trip back down the hill than the "badass" tripple---hmmm Ill take the pussy RX1- I rode R-1's for 7 years and I never once had a mechanical rpoblem out the motors on mine--my 03- got stolen with 8500 miles--my 04 I traded in in 07 with 26K and my 07 I had racked up 23K on before I went down real bad. NOT ONE ISSUE with any of them.

  • 4-strokes are getting ready to die. Their only benefits(mpg, clean exhaust) are down the drain.

    The new Ski-Doo 800R is now Direct Injected. 151hp and 19mpg. A 130hp 4-stroke gets 18mpg and weighs about 80lbs more.

  • @TheOfficialKC

But you know what 4-Strokes will always do better??? Reliability & longevity. You can't argue with that. And yes the E-Tec's are very clean as fas as CO emissions go, but when you start looking at HC (hydrocarbons) the real toxins, thats were the 4-Strokes shine. Even the E-Tec's are pigs when it comes to HC output compared to 4-Strokes. The 600 H.O. E-Tec barely squeeks by 2012 standards while the 130Genesis FI passes with flying colours.

  • First off I disagree about reliability & longevity. In the case of dirt bikes a 450 4-stroke will last 20 hours. A 250 2-stroke, which puts out the same power, lasts up to 4 times as long. Both being ridden at pro level racing. Compare 250 vs 250F the 2-stroke is even more impressive. The 250F lasts less hours than a 450F while making 40% less power. Do you want 60-80 hours of riding and 50hp or 15 hours of riding and 30hp?

  • @TheOfficialKC

What are you basing your information on exactly. Personal experience, heresay???. Look at modern automobiles, strictly 4-Stroke engines and they far outlast any 2-Stroke engine ever made. 1, 2 or 300k KMS is the norm for todays 4-Stroke vehicles.

  • See 2-strokes haven't had this technology for very long. Emissions killed 2-stroke cars in the 60s. 4-strokes planted themselves as the main engine. No competition since the 2-strokes were unclean. Only recently have 2-strokes become clean. So no one has developed a 2-stroke since there was no point. Until now. So no shit there is no 2-stroke automobile now.

  • no...yamaha's are the best reliebility sleds around hands down...you cant argue with that.

  • Or in outboard engines. The 2-stroke engines last a lot longer than their 4-stroke rivals. And the 2-strokes require half the maintenance. A 300hp 2-stroke weighs less than a 200hp 4-stroke.

The most efficient and longest lasting engines in the world(tanker engines) are 2-strokes.

  • The only outboard boat engine to receive an EPA Clean Air Excellence award is Evinrudes E-Tec 2-stroke.

Major car manufacturers(GM, Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, BMW, etc) are all working on 2-strokes because they can achieve better emissions and MPG than 4-strokes.

Lots of engine manufacturers like Orbital, Aprilia, and Lotus are doing the same.

  • ya and there motors are shit. a 2 stroke getting just droplets of oil on the the main bearing of the crank. thats asking to go boom.

  • Actually a carbureted 2-stroke with mix gas lasts longer than 4-strokes. Now when you add oil injection it improves the amount of oil reaching parts, more than enough to run great. In fact while a 4-stroke gets reused oil running through it gets metal particles wearing it out whereas a 2-stroke gets fresh oil 100% of the time increasing longevity.

So 100% fresh oil or reused oil? I'll go fresh.

  • @TheOfficialKC thing is, 2t's are being revved to the shithouse to make power, where as the 4t's have a much fatter powerband. Therefore, a 2t is gunna need a rebuild sooner. It's really quite simple, lower overall piston speed increases longevity. Why do diesels last so long? Cause most of them redline at like 3k rpm! An 800 xcr redlines at like 12k! At least the one's in mass produced heavy duty pickups.

  • @APontiacof455cubes You are very confused. For your info a AC 800 makes peak power at ~8000rpm and a Z1 at 8500rpm. And know that smaller engines generally rev higher. For comparison the Arctic Cat 1000 makes peak power at 7600rpm and never hits 8000rpm.

So your theory is wrong buddy.

    Even look at dirt bikes. A 250 2t redlines at like 8000rpm while a 250f hits 12,000rpm+.

The reason diesels last so long is because they are built like tanks.

  • @TheOfficialKC hmmmm idk bout that. All I know is that you must operate a 2t at much higher rpm to make power compared to a 4t. A 4t has a much fatter powerband. If you are revving your engine to the max all the time , your pistons are going to have travelled a much further distance than a 4t. The more distance travelled mean more wear. Idk why im even saying this much, just look at the dirtbike guys. You rebuild a 2t twice as many times as a 4t.

  • @APontiacof455cubes Did you read my comment? A 4-stroke makes peak power at higher RPM than a 2-stroke. Arctic Cat 1000 2t makes peak at 7600rpm while their 1000 4t makes peak power at 8500rpm.

About powerband, I bet you the M1000 makes more power than a Z1 at 4000rpm while absolutely destroying it in the top end. One may call it a narrower powerband while another may simply call it way more power. And check out the new E-Tec Ski-Doo engines.

  • @TheOfficialKC Dude idk what 2 strokes ur ridin. The pro racers rebuild their 250's and 125's every couple races. Or as soon as money allows. 2 stroke race bike......60hrs?!!! YEA RIGHT!!! U lost all credibility with that comment man. Right when I was thinking you might actually know what you're talkin about.

  • @APontiacof455cubes I am in the sport you moron. And I am talking about privateers/amateurs. Guys who buy their own shit and race it. You know, the shit WE can buy. So apparently you know nothing. It is common knowledge that the 2-strokes last at least 60+ hours and a 4-stroke lasts 30 hours.

  • @APontiacof455cubes Funny you bring up dirt bikes as that was my next step. I AM a dirt bike guy. I have both 2 and 4 strokes. They both have advantages. But you are completely wrong about reliability. 2-stroke race bikes last 60+ hours. You are lucky if you get even 30 hours on a 4-stroke. Not to mention when you rebuild the 2t it is a $200 job while the 4t often costs $2000.

  • hartleracing the new 2010 ac 800 makes a 160 hp last years polaris 800 makes 155 and the doo makes 151 none are close to 170 hp the mack z 1000 sdi made 170 hp but was as heavy as a 4 stroke. it like this 4 stroke rules the mountains and the touring segment the 2 stroke rules the ditches and cross country they both have there place

  • well the way i see it 160ish hp does not go in the 150 class.. you always round them up into the next highest class, not down.. and i agree with everything u said, and yamaha only owns the mountains when its no limits full mod sleds, when stock they are only top notch in straight line shoots

  • try 130 - 150

    170 HP??? what ru smokin

  • the arctic cat 800cc HO motor is 162.5 hp dyno proven. and the ski doo 800 is close to the same hp

  • yeah the doo 800 is something like 152. can't remember off hand

  • that Rx-1 was barly trying

  • 4-strokes are already legends

  • not a fair comparison at all... 200 cc plus a turbo...not to mention the added torque of a 4-stroke helps turn that 162.

  • Obviously these people aren't engineers, I am. Go ahead and slap a turbo on the 800 and then you have a much closer comparison considering they both come stock with about 150 hp. Although 4-stroke engines are able to take advantage of boost better due to exhaust valves closing. It's foolish to see people arguing 2-stroke vs 4-stroke, they both have their advantages & disadvantages. Its almost as idiotic as people who argue which brands are better.

  • You are right but is it not true that 2 stroke has more speed due to to less cycles it has to make to turn over the engine? That would mean technically a two stroke has double the power, and I have witnessed this before with other machines(where the 4 stroke gets owned everytime). But these new yammies are amazing, they keep up with 2 strokes like nothing.

  • this is true to a certain extent.. the 4 strokes have come a long way and are gettin some real good hp numbers these days, and alot of times will outrun the comparative 2 stroke

  • the rx1 has the turbo thus, less loss of HP to elevation

  • its an rx1, its got the stock tunnel, they are only 151".. the weight alone evens it out in the mountains compared to a 2 stroke

  • lol damn yammi turbo wasn't even trying.

  • 800 polaris xcr

  • sounds like a little kitty cat is it a zrt 800?

  • is the tripple a polaris?

  • yes. polaris edge chassis with some lightweight parts and a XCR 800 tripple with Slp tripple pipes

  • its a 151 or a 156 i think. turbo yammi has a 162

  • what is the 800 triple have on it for a track
