  • I live in Singapore and I would love to learn the 10th planet system. But sadly, there's hardly any BJJ gyms in Singapore. And they are all expensive.

  • I'm just starting the basics but I really like the control of rubber guard

  • Ive been doing UFC/MMA For about 7-8 years now, And this........This gets 'em everytime.

  • correction: flex the foot not extend. for the foot its the opposite than the others, actually its the ankle but whatever. Just in case someone wanted to know the correct termonology...

  • Chill dog? Jiu Claw? I'm a purple belt and never heard this stupid nonsensical random bullshit terms.

  • @TooKoolKris have some respect for the person who invented it, because that's the name the inventor gave stupid.

  • @TooKoolKris Then you don't know Jiu Jitsu as it's evolving moron. Don't blame others for your ignorance and lack of respect, stupid.

  • @TooKoolKris lol what? Are you serious... are you locked in one of the gracies basements?

  • geez that must take forever to figure out lol. For some reason 10th planet seems to be even more complex than just normal bjj. could be wrong. just from observation

  • @wroyals07 How do you mean? What takes forever the move or executing it?

  • awesome

  • Your attention to detail is good. When you are in your thirties and still training, you will be on a different planet like Rickson.

  • 10th planet is the best camp ever

  • Ginger!!!

  • Can you repost this with "Endless Love" playing in the background? Pleeeeaaase?

  • 35 do i hear jew claw?? lmao

  • no you heard Jiu Claw lol

  • lmao you know they named it that just so it would sound like jew claw

  • I found out that after I started kickboxing that my legs got stronger but since I stretch everyday it also was more flexible... Its common sense to all who trains that you don't lose flexibility during muay thai or kickboxing. If you don't stretch, your muscles will get pulled and it will hurt.

  • Not a bad little sequence; and finishing with that Gogo variation is always much sweeter than the regular Gogo too.

  • how do u combat the little window of looseness at the leg(which is trapping your opponents arm after the zombie) when you apply the crowbar, i find once i let go of my leg with my arm, my opponent can power out, is it just a matter of improving my tightness?

  • It's probably that you're not rolling on to your hip enough. If you re-watch the sequence, JM rolls on to his right hip pretty heavily when he lets go, forcing the arm to extend out. This should really crank down on that leg/arm lock on the left side while you're working the crowbar/chin-pick. Hope this helps

  • Ari I teach this now in the rubber guard path as the norm. Should I not? I've had a lot of success with this so I was wandering if its a good idea for the transition from chill dawg to jiu claw? Or should mad dog control stay the norm?

  • this is just one option along the path bro. The system is so detailed and so many options are coming out that the norm changes depending on what style of 10thPlanet you play. Double bagger or Prison Guard or deep half...or...you get the picture. Do what feels right to you.

  • i like to say...."BJJ is like making a cake, the end product is the same, but the ingredients are always different. put what you like in the cake to match your taste"

Every one has there own style

  • Very cool. Innovative stuff. Don't dismiss rubberguard/10th planet stuff, I use it all the time, and if you run into somebody who plays that game you better have an answer for it, imho.

  • impressive but way too complicated imho. Thats the kind of shit i learn for fun but never spend too much time on as i am more interested in the solid battle tested shiit that wont let me down against 120kg samoans. Still very nice and creative. Keeps bjj fresh.

  • You're right man, this rarely works against heavyweight power fighters. But everything has it's time and place.

  • @CLUB8U Where the hell do you meet 120 kg samoans? O__o

  • Im a bouncer... half the guys I work with are 120kilo samoans lol

  • untill people understand and learn rubberguard and anything under 10th planet they will never see the light so to speak everyone thought the world was flat and everyone realized the wrong in that the world will see how nasty 10th planet is fuck the nay sayers cause they dont mean a thing

  • you know, i take back what i said, thoughs are good names, In a jiu jitsu match, if the opponents corner starts yelling stuff like "new york, Chill dog, Zombie, Kung Fu Move and all that other stuff, I aint gonna have a clue what theyr talking about, its a good strategy now I think of it.

  • Yeah it is.

  • That's not the reason for the names. Eddie created them for his own memory.

  • haha, i love BJJ but jeez, these names gotta go, lol Chill dog? hehehe well alright, if the shoe fits wear it I guess but, lol thoughs are some pretty goofy Jiu Jitsu names if you dont mind me saying, no pun intended, no offense intended.

  • THAT VWAS AMAZING!!! lol

  • Used this yesterday... Everyone asked me what I did. I said it was the red special. ;)

  • does eddie compete at all anymore?does anyone from the 10th planet sysyem compete at a high or pro level in grappling ?just wondering.

  • absolutely not.. they all suk.. mooohahhahaa

  • Nice lol...Yes, xabove...Denny Prokopos, Sean Bollinger, and Scott Epstein are to name just a few. Look them up ;-)

  • @Submissions101 Scott Epstein hasnt beaten anybody worth mentioning, but has lost horribly bad to alot of guys. Bollinger hasnt fought anyone worth while, and hasnt really won anything. Denny is also the only person worth mentioning, but has himself admitted alot of his grappling ability came from training with Jake Shields, and Cesar's camp.

For all of this NoGi you guys preach, there should be some sort of proof. Nobody is doing anything in any IBJJF tournament, or ADCC.

  • @ibanezcollector What you do not understand is 10thPlanet's gyms are mostly run by blue and purple belts. 10thPJJ is in it's toddler stages, and the more people use it the more you see guys like JM adapting it and using it well.

Just wait and see, where do you see people winning off a system where the one who invented it is only 41?

It's YOUNG and still evolving all the time, one day Eddie Bravo will not be credited with inventing some new Jiu Jitsu but revolutionizing Jiu Jitsu as we see it.

  • cmon guys!! it doesnt take that much flexibility!!

  • Damn, Red is getting good.

  • you guys seem to have name for basically everytime you guys move your bodies'.

  • I wish I had 1/10th of the flexibility needed to be able to do that move. :(

  • i like rubber guard but the only thing i don't like is i have trouble getting it on stalky or bigger opponents.

  • buena tecnica

  • the kids parents must be rich so he can train there lol i wanna learn rubber guard there

  • They both pay their own way. It also doesn't take a lot of money to train...just desire too!

  • lol i like the way u think

  • 10th planet dudes have crazy rubber guards

  • much respect to 10th planet, eddie bravo and anyone who knows their shit (regardless of age)

  • What I like to do is when I'm chillin just sitting around bring my knees to my chest with my feet still on the ground and bring one foot over my knee. Kinda like a triangle but in front. Also look up submissions 101 flexibility drills video.

  • :O i like this one i need to be more flexible though. you tenth planet guys really love you rubber guards lol. any tips on building flexibility though? i just cant figure it out.

  • @JrPercusionist easy man! stretch like hell... keeping a good stretch for about 40 seconds to a minute build flexibility. look up some fancy stretches and stretch away! well...not too much... you could hurt yourself pretty bad. know your limits first!

  • Just find some simple stretching exercise and do them 3 times a day. Be patient, and the result will come. I stretch 2-3 times a day for 5-8 minutes and it works for me. Don't hurry, be patient to avoid injures.

  • lol well the "be carful" advice is a given for any type of excercise. but thanks.

  • A lot of haters on here today. Its not a loco its a gogo to wicked gogo. Secondly if you don't like it go hop on renzos nuts.this stuff works. 80% of my taps come from rubber guard. Deez nuts

  • You gotta love the hate, it means your doing something worthwhile and meaningful...

    10thPlanet forever!

  • How old is this ginger kid? his sick

  • thanks for the lesson really great.

  • Butttt.. what happens in MMA when you're fighting a guy with great wrestling and you can't get him down to do this?! Just kidding. I hate the stupid comments people leave sometimes. Nice video. :)

  • Well, that's a loco-plata not a gogo D: otherwise, cool stuff..

  • I am not sure why so many people must throw around the term "mma" like it is the end all be all. It is obvious to the meanest of intellects on the slightest reflection that we are showing jiu jitsu stuff here. Its like me saying "what happens when I put my thumb in your eye in an mma match?" Exactly, you can't do that and there is a time a place for all things. This is jiu jitsu. Nothing more, nothing less. Some things work great in MMA, other things you'd leave out.

  • For SthlmFARSTASTRAND

    Your a serious idiot, wow.

  • firstly you obviously dont train so please dont open ur mouth when you dont know squat

and its kinda stupid if you cant see that what he is doing is just a general guideline to get to a gogo

when u train combos on a punching bag you arent able to do the same things in a real fight but u "adapt" to the situation with the general guide line that you trained on a punching bag

which is exactly the purpose of the video

  • that dude did not make up ANY of those names for the moves. it is all from eddie bravo s rubber guard system which is great all around. i have subbed a shit load of people using his submission system. granted all of his moves wont work out great all the time it is finding the ones you like and evolving your game from there

  • sweet

  • I really like this... +1

  • After the 30 second mark when your foot in not on his hip, what's stopping him from pushing your leg down and passing?

  • if he tries to pass you can transition to omaplata

  • Agreed, you could also maybe go for a carni, but his leg is very low and wouldn't be hard to pass or posture up before he did either. IMO.

  • I didn't quite liked it the first time I saw it. So I've tried to replicate it on the mat and found that it only works if your buddy plays along what is quite unreasonable. JJ can not be a static event on any of the parts. Good flex though..

  • Everyone has their strengths, that is for sure. Red is extremely fast at getting gogoplatas (it is one of his highest percentage moves). Just look at his last video of his comp footage. This done static for filming (as you know). JJ isn't static...correct.

  • Nice job, Red!

  • damn nice flexibility. im getting there.

  • love it... gotta try this one out in class. thanks. good work, red!

  • Thank you Ari! I was hoping you was gonna put this up. You said maybe on facebook but not here. I don't have facebook and I'm not even a member of the 10th site cause I just have net on my blackberry. But I read the forums lol. Hopefully homer simpson and the mysterious sorcerer get put up by you in the future

  • Im 6'3 185 rubber guard can work on big guys, Ive had big guys do it on me, and vice versa.

  • Andrew buddy, i agree with meigs. Im 220 5'10 and my legs are pretty big from my younger body building days (im 36 now) so even a triangle for me is difficult. My flexibility however sux but still its hard to triangle etc when you have large legs and they are not long.

  • Eh thought it was implied that rubber guard requires flexibility, but I guess I take that for granted.

  • thats funny that is exactly my size i know exactly what ya mean

  • wicked... nice one!

  • damn wish i was that bendy , i can just about rubber guard

  • good for skinny people

  • nice move but im a heavy weight so the rubber guard is not for me even a triangle choke is hard to aply because of the size of the shoulders of the opponent

  • my cousin is a little over 250 and he has great flexibility. He can pull a rubber guard no problem. Trust me, if you keep training your flexibility you'll be able to get it.

  • Actually bigger people have to train for sometimes years to get the flexibility I've seen big 500 lb dead lifters who could not get a single choke or submission that requires legs such as the triangle I just slipped right out by turning slightly fell back and did an achilles lock.

BTW don't know if this is out already but when someone is doing a leg lock on you all you gotta do is either get their's or roll and push him from leg to thigh and wrap around

  • the only problem that i hate about flexibility is that i know i can pull it off ,its been 10 years that im doing bjj but being that flexible will cause me a lost of power in kicks while im sparring but it is still a really cool move but for more effectivness in combat i would rather go for a triangle or an armlock

  • Being Flexible doesn't make your kicks loose power... Clearly you should know that after 10 years.

  • being flexible knees like the way they use the rubber guard does.

most muay thai fighters i know have really flexible bodies. they can do splits and shit but have a really hard time doing the rubber guard.

i think their muscles are developed differently.

  • true thighs and calf's are way big to do this.

  • yes i know but trian for stand up fight while doing bjj will affect your kick power ,it is a choice ,to really have kicking power you will loose flexibility, not all but enough to have a hard time doing a rubber guard ,and you will gain it back if you do more bjj but the kick will be affected because the muscles change a lot and become stiff or more loose depending on your trainning

  • could you do a video, just explaining the different 10th planet names for various positions, Mission Control, Zombie, Crackhead control, chill dog, new york etc... this video assumes that the viewer already knows what all those things mean and I dont think the average viewer of this channel knows what they are

  • Evan...that video already exists! Please look it up on out channel or site" Basic path to the Rubber Guard."

  • Good to know! Thanks!!!

  • watch?v=wUDqbU2jwxg here is the video. Also, just search our main side and you see that each section is divided into RG, half guard etc...

  • it is codes for fights so the other team doesnt know where there going with these names

  • red is very good i dont even practice JJ but i feel like with the tips from this channel i could pull off some of the movies with how well you guys detail your instructions thanks.

  • very nice!

  • yeah and I would love to see how you would be punching him at all considering from that position your face is in the mat. Unless you are stretch armstrong, cuz his arms can stretch REALLY FAR.

  • glad to see the 10th pjj videos back. iv missed them

  • The next generation of 10th planet instructors is on the way! Very well done, i totally understood all of that and i'm sure i'll be able to pull it off.

    Props Red

  • yes i agree very very good instruction. I cant play rubber guard(too many hip surgeries) but if i could i'm sure i'd pull that off with ease thanks to your clear and concise instruction. Excellent job.

  • keep up the 10th planet JJ tutorials. they are awesome

  • nice.

  • these guys are grapplers, not fighters.

  • Not in a submission grappling tournament, you would lose and probably be disqualified from the rest of the tournament. FAIL!

  • You're a moron.

  • these guys could prob get that on faster than you can punch 15 times ..you obviously have no ground game so that's prob the reason for the stupid comment

  • 15 punches that would have leverage and feel like nothing

  • ninja.

  • yay, it's here!
