Marque Moon is one of the greatest rock albums ever made. It stuns me some time.Television were so ahead of their time. They influenced U2, REM, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Slater-Kinney, Smashing Pumpkins. What a damn fucking good band.
i know that my opinion it's not so much valuable, but i remember listening to Marquee Moon for the first time and i've got it another vision about guitar. It's really impressive.
this is so much more enjoyable than the record version. i wish someone had known how to record bands like this. i can't stand the way they sound on record. i have a patti smith bootleg that is totally amazing, but i think Horses itself sounds kind of embarrassing. anyway thanks for posting this.
Saw them play at Hammersmith Odeon just after Marquee Moon came out. I was 13. Best Gig Ever, only nearly topped by Nick Cave Dig!Lazarus!Dig!! concert in Paris couple of years ago. Television won though - they made me buy a guitar!
It's one of those taste things, but I've always been more of a Lloyd fan. (But yes, I think Verlaine is insanely good too.) They played off of each other so, so well.
anyone know what year this is?

Hell left way before this album was released.
But yeah, he rules. Blank Generation. NY punk was a standard.

An unexpected birthday wish from Mr. Ford. Thanks, Mr. Ford. (Man, that was a cryptic comment.)

As a guitarist myself, I've been more of a fan of Verlaine. Especially his solo on Patti Smith's Break It Up.
Lloyd is cool as hell too.
