legendary car, 45 yrs old now, the engine is amazing and filled with motorbike technology, is a true fact that BMW bought an s500 because they couldnt believe hondas car could rev to 8500, they tested it on their dyno and found it revved to 14,500! hard to believe i know. The only thing that went wrong was that the german built dyno broke lol
@davavanstone: I know that story as well. But I thaught that were some car enthusiasts near Karlruhe, who reved an S800 for twenty minutes @ 11.000 rpm - with the result, that the bearings of the Dyno get stuck...
To the Car itself: I think it is a masterpiece of Car-ingeneering. 88hp/1000ccm (30cui) in the middle of the 60's... Thats a number of an today's Audi TT 1.8 TFSI... And the S500 was N/A...
I hope to have the honor to restore such a car someday.
what song is this?

The music fits this video well. This was the basics of the S2000 back in the day.

Very attractive little Honda.
The S600 and S800 were exported but this very early edition was only sold in very limited markets.
Good footage on one on the road, thanks for sharing!

My roommate had one of these little monsters when I lived on Okinawa in 1971 - 72. I drove it numerous times....what a hot little car that was.

I want one to swap an F20A S2000 motor into. That would be fun.
