i'm italian, congratulations for this project. i'd like to add that we italians seldom tell "precise" for "o'clock". in the spoken language, we simply tell, for example, "sono le dieci" for 10:00
I'm italian. And I personally don't like my language or my country. It's sad, i know. But it seems that there is someone out there who likes the italian language... Why? XD I mean could someone explain that to me, please?

I don't think that Germanic languages are derived from Latin, they were certainly influenced by Latin, the language of educated people during the Middle Age all throughout Europe.
Languages derived from Latin are mainly: Spanish, Romanian, Italian, Portuguese and French.

I'm italian...when i was in England..sometimes i spoke italian with spanish girls and they understood without any problem..so...i think they are similar languages!

In Italian we never say 'sono le sette precise' I would rather say 'Sono le sette in punto', I would at least add both expressions.
holikarang 4 years ago
Hi,
Thanks for giving the alternative way of stating "Seven O'clock" to everyone that views this video.
The fact is that 'sono le sette in punto,' or 'sono le sette precise' are both correct.
You can think of 'sono le sette precise' as being equivalent to "seven sharp" or "exactly seven o'clock."
Like in English, Italian has several ways of communicating the same message. Again, thanks for bringing it up. Ciao, alla prossima. Giovanna!
