My point is, if NASA admitted that their technology's, especially the space suits, still cannot enable astronauts to survive outside the Earth's magnetic field, HOW can Neil Armstrong land on the moon safely, with no harm from radiation, when the technology back then is less advance than now.
NASA never said the Radiation would penetrate the suits. They were talking long term space bases, where Gamma radiation hurts. SHORT term, the solar wind is 88% alpha and beta radiation, both of which are blocked by plastic, let alone a space suit. Thats rudimentary first year radiation safety.

The ability of telescopes to resolve objects is limited by their size and the laws of Physics, there just is not one big enough to resolve a flag from that distance.
You would need a telescope over 100 metres in diameter to even have a chance, or get closer like the LRO.

The far side was still entirely unknown in the 1950s, the first photos of it were done by the Russians in 1959 and those were poor resolution and poor quality.

Any photographer knows that the f-ratio of a camera lens can change the field of view between a narrow and wide angle lens. This will make the apparent size of the object appear larger or smaller. Also the altitude of the orbit and fact that there is no frame of reference on the moon there is nothing to judge the apparent size of objects.
Do you mean the F-stop? That would not change the apparent size, but changing the focal length would, with a longer focal length making objects at a distance seem bigger.

The f-ratio (or focal ratio, or f-number) of a telescope is the ratio between the focal length and the aperture (i.e., diameter) of the objective. Any photographer knows that the f-ratio of a camera lens can change the field of view between a narrow and wide angle lens. This will make the apparent size of the object appear larger or smaller. Also the altitude of the orbit and fact that there is no frame of reference on the moon there is nothing to judge the apparent size of objects.

@ytmoog No. In a telescope the focal length determines how wide an angle the telescope can view with a given eyepiece or size of a CCD detector. The f-ratio (or focal ratio, or f-number) of a telescope is the ratio between the focal length and the aperture (i.e., diameter) of the objective. Thus, for a given aperture (light-gathering power), low f-ratios indicate wide fields of view. Thanks for your question, I hope this clears it up.

The Moon has a much greater mass that the ISS, so it has to be in a much lower orbit than the Moon to be there for a period of some decades and with reasonable costs. 1 km higher and the costs skyrocket, 1 km lower and it falls to the Earth like a stone...
