What is the HP, the unladen weight and miles per gallon please?

There was a bloke in England who had a small autogyro which he used to trailer to airfields. This meant that the main rotor had to be unscrewed then re-attached. The last time he flew it the rotor bolts unscrewed and he was killed. Nuts with Nylon inserts are only meant to be used once so unless one uses thread locking compound one is playing with fire. Simmonds nuts can be re-used safely but are seldom seen nowadays.

@HUGHS5001 er cars and planes is apples to oranges. One moves on ground, while one is in the air ofc the one in the air is gonna cause more..much harder to have something in the air than on the ground

Why is it that U.S. government agencies, i.e. law enforcement, are the only ones to legally purchase a fully assembled gyrocopter? I was told that they must be purchased and assembled in kit form in the private sector and registered as Experimental.

Had the chance to go in a gyro back in the early 90s. Should have taken the chance. The copter was powered by a Subaru motor and I understand learning to fly these type of aircraft is easier. Also, the power failure problem seen in fixed wing aircraft is not a problem with these, making them quite safe. Nice vid. Makes me want to go out and get one finally. How long for take off run with full payload on grass?
