  • @LoveJFrusciante I feel the same! ps, I'm lovin' your username!

  • Thats awesome.....

  • Why are they using the Tibet's flag on the background? I saw it on Saitama and other concerts on the keyboard and the xylophone.

  • @KobashigawaThinks this is a tibetan freedom concert, that's why

  • Imagine Thom's version of Shiny Happy People? I would kill to witness that!

  • This is so amazing 2 of my all time favorite artists in Rock music. Thom is spastic with ecstasy lol

  • Stipe ruins the song with his fog horn vocal

  • Two of the most distinctive voices in Rock/Indie

  • I've always found this song to be boring. But I really like this song. I don't know what that really says about me. I'm boring?

  • @burnindownthehouse you're crazy!

  • 24 people disliked it in order to write funny insults about people who dislike youtube videos in general :)

  • Dodgy vocals

  • I was right there. Awesome day.

  • this song shouldn't be performed in the daylight

  • It's crazy to think that during The Bends era Radiohead would open for REM.

  • 2 bands that have great respect for each other.powerful!

  • i'm close to crying. i can't believe this exists. <333333

  • good, i've done too, let's coment and rate please

  • this should be studio recorded

  • @acberman1 In Radiohead's box towering above the rest (disc 8) ;)

  • two of the greatest singers from two of the greatest bands from this era... singing one of of the greatest songs ever produced... sounds about perfect to me so STOP COMPLAINING!

  • Thom's likkle face is so cute

  • This is cute.

  • What kind of witch magic is this? Everybody knows Michael Stipe and Thom Yorke are the same person.

  • @TehSamurai Hahahaha

  • WITH ALL RESPECT...THOM YORKE SMASHES MICHAEL VOICE.....

  • this is fantastic. I knew it would be looking at the title, and it surpassed me expectations, Aweomesauce. :)

  • WOW, With a Tibet's flag on the back ground. That is so so so my first time seeing Radiohead's stage with Tibetan Flag. Cheers Radiohead. You guys rock.

  • I got chills.

  • oh my

  • they should've totally made a concert dvd for this benefit, that would've definately brought in help

  • haha wow. fuckin' cool.

  • amazing finds like this is why i love youtube

  • does`nt get better

  • how cool would it be to be those people sitting backstage right. at 2:32 ? you dont get seats better than those

  • i have had this audio recording for eleven years. it is /so/ surreal to be seeing the video for the first time.

this performance with Stipe is so sodden and depressing and beautiful. but it makes me smile and takes me so far back. saddest baldest song ever.

  • If this had been a duet I would have shit myself from excitement...... still amazing though

  • 1990s on the stage...

  • @kimifan1989 I miss the 90's

  • looks like radiohead lost their religion....

  • @superchris6422 Considering "losing my religion" means "getting really angry," I highly doubt it.

  • Wow, this could so easily have been an R.E.M song. They really compliment each other.

  • jonny's effects absolutely amaze me.

  • Think i just did a sex wee!!

  • well i just shit myself and i'm not too upset about it, because THIS IS AWESOME!!!

  • i got goose pimples all over....

  • 4:10

    I came.

  • @vmp132 it's hard to sing a song written in someone else's range, especially when that person has as unique a voice as thom yorke. stipe went out of tune a couple times but mostly did a good job of holding the notes. covers aren't really meant to match or exceed the originals, they're tributes and jams. this was a lot of fun to listen to

  • Awesome, if you had any musical knowledge at all and a love for music, how could you not like this? It is greater than its video or sound quality get it?......If not, Kill yourself

  • wow, I'd never picture Michael singing lucky... AMAZING!!!!!

  • This is amazing... wow!!!! LOL WOW!

  • jonny > thom

  • amazing song from a brilliant album. I made a cover of this song, from a radiohead fan to radiohead fan, please listen: ?v=0dZH4w-S2Hc

  • Two geniuses

  • it looks like all the Radiohead guys are having much fun :)

  • Awesome i like this video ^^ thx u for up RadioHead RLZ Michael Stipe RLZ! xD!

  • Johnny is the bees knees

  • 23 people are here on behalf of miley cyrus

  • great sound !!! great performance !!

  • MICHAEL STIPE AND THOM YORKE

    BEST FRIENDS FOR LIFE

  • at 3:05 you can see Thom singing along xD

  • I always thought this sounded more like a REM song than a Radiohead song, so it's pretty cool to hear Stipe singing it.

  • @bernlin2000 Actually Thom said in some concert that he had dedicated that song to REM

  • List of my favorite singers:

    1. Thom Yorke

    2. Michael Stipe

    3. Maynard James Keenan

  • So beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes...

  • Copy that!!!! Super cool!

  • Copy that!!!! Super cool

  • Copy that!!!!

  • how did the stage not implode with this amount of epic awesomeness upon it?

  • Comment removed

  • michael stipe has a great voice, but it's not a falsetto.

  • When I saw that chick crowd surfing i thought, wouldn't crowd surfing for girls just be an unpleasant grope-fest? I would love to hear from a girl who has done it before

  • Stipe does a nice job on that one but he can't really pull off the "it's gonna be a glooorriiousss day" part. other than that he's pretty good

  • i am at a loss for words

  • Love the pain in Stipes voice...God such a feeling, really like saying put me out this publicrash lol

  • i've been addicted to this song 4ever. finally i've found the video. too awesome for words. thank you arpegix 4 posting this masterpiece!

  • After the Monster Tour when Radiohead opened for REM is when both bands started sounding like the other. This is very interesting and delicious. This must be from the same concert where Thom Yorke sat in on E-bow.

  • stipe owns all before and after

  • 0:59

  • stipe is amazing

  • Is it just me or is Stipe singing this song flat?

  • @Radres12345 he is slightly flat on some parts, but you gotta give him credit, radiohead is not exactly the easiest stuff to sing.

  • @Radres12345 Yeah, I heard it too.

  • @Radres12345 He's kind of flat. This isn't really an ideal choice for Michael. His vocal range is lower than Thom's. It makes it harder to sing this song as you'd expect it.

  • pretty good, micheal, just wanted to sing that song, who wouldnt, one radiohead master pieces and on that time, that album , was said to be the best of all time

  • holy titballs, I love stipe's rendition of this. I want to hear more Radiohead sung by this guy.

  • Holy shit. You two are just... something else. I cant even decide which is better. Yorke has the seductive quality that really draws you in and makes you feel it. But Stype has that incredible strength in his voice that I rarely feel from Yorke, and as a powerful song it certainly benefits from Stype in that respect.

  • Sadly, I think that this is what the 9-11 terrorists were thinking in their heads. Not that the music is responsible for it in anyway at all. Just brings me to mind of that horrible date. When I see the videos of the planes in the building and people jumping out of the building, I just think this is a backdrop that captures the feeling. And before anyone gets too nasty about this I live in NYC and lost a friend as did many people. I just think this song captures that feeling.

  • Really, really beautiful! Michael's voice fits the song perfectly and actually I couldn't say if it sounds better with Thom or with him... It must have been an awesome experience for Thom, since REM are one of his main influences^^

  • this is interesting - stipes voice is so much reminiscent of stone temple pilots, with a little bit of husky deepness, whereas thom's voice is more lilting. Both really good, but different sounds. It's interesting to hear what he does with lucky

  • Awesome moment for Thom... listening to Michael singing "the best song they've made" (ok computer era) plus the fact Stipe is a great influence in Thom's work, it's just incredible!

  • Interesting version, I saw it for the first time.

IT'S GONNA BE A GLORIOUS DAY!

  • 19 assholes clicked ''Don't Like it''

  • @WhiteDragonEyesBlue

    FUCK THAT ASSHOLES!

  • I would have rather seen them do a studio collaboration rather than a live collab because Michael Stipe is much stronger in the studio.

  • Yorke is definitely a better singer than Stipe, regardless this is fucking amazing.

  • thom yorke's cargo pants are chill as hell!

  • This is seriously good... If you are not a blind, mad, totally lost fan of REM or Radiohead (but you simply love them both) you can really appreciate this featuring. It's a wonderful version.

  • @cornerOfMyEye Yes we can :)

  • what the fuck is that shit in the background

  • No. Just no. This song belongs to Thom (and Ed). Michael Stipe's voice is busted. In fact, he's bleating like a goat through much of it, mistaking volume for feeling.

I'm sure it was the dream of a lifetime for him to sing onstage with Radiohead, but it sure wasn't my dream to listen to him butcher the vocals.

  • @NoCatStrangling Actually, apparently it was Thom Yorke's dream to have Michael Stipe sing with his band. He looked up to him a lot.

  • Two Genius, Michael and Thom!

  • @fepego85 two gods

  • Dont know what i was doing that day...But whatever it was IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANYWHERE CLOSE TO THIS BRILLIANCE!!!!!!!! FUCKIN CLASS HI

  • abso fuckig lutely beautifull

  • it's gonna be a glorious day

  • Holy fucking shit this is awesome

  • HAHAHAHA, that's true xD

  • I was going to write the exact same thing

  • @jkellis

nextx time take a note book and write your ideas. i know they are awesome

  • wow

  • So....Seriously cool.

  • Stipes voice was fucked by 1998 (its even worse now). No sustain, no inflection and no higher register. Very sad considering he had possibly the best rock n roll voice ever (listen to moon river video for proof). Age and cigarettes dont mix.

  • hmm i disagree i think his voice is just as good now if not better, i mean its always been husky so the cigaretes wont matter too much and as for age well its a fact that singers get better with age as long as they keep singing,it just depends on what day you catch him same as any other singer, i seen him a year ago and his voice was incredible was the best vocal performance ive ever seen anyone do! and ive seen alot radiohead,u2,oasis,muse,the killers, greenday, the pixies ect ect..

  • @Famehater Well, there comes a point where the vocal cords wear out after singers hit a certain age. Its happened to McCartney, Daltrey, Jagger, Bowie, and Bono. Stipe's voice isn't what it was 20 years ago. Strummer was partially right when he said that geriatrics shouldn't be making music.

  • @muymalmoon your just plain wrong on all acounts.

  • @Famehater So you are saying that McCartney, Jagger, Bowie, Bono and Daltrey sing better than they ever have?

  • @sweetness2follow

To be fair, if you look at the Mtv Unplugged sessions in 2001, his voice is brilliant

  • who cares ppl.. rem + radiohead!

  • Yeah, his style is much more baritone and monotone. They should have tried him in a Radiohead song that wasn't so soaring.

  • I tough at first.. where is jonny? and then I saw him in the far right of the stage.. :P lol

  • he is so emucianly charge to sing this song..

  • Enfia a carga emocional no meio do cu.

  • @LordSevla hhahahahahhaha

  • ... that second time he sings "Its going to be a glorious day" ... was just painful. Thom, please show him how its done.

  • but thats wat MS is that kind of rustic tone. like the way bob dylan cant sing at all. but he can... get me

  • verrrrry nice ...

  • Stipe is a great singer for this song

  • wooooooooooooooooooow

  • i love the 90's...

  • I agree, but they're both admired by me for pouring tons of soul into it.

  • Just an absolutely incredible piece of music. Gives me the chills every time I hear it.

  • The original Radiohead version is very good but this one is even better due to the intensity of Stipe voice. The ultimate version...

  • excelente band con excelente cantante, convinacion explosiva d arte musical

  • io amo michael stipe

  • I love Michael Stipe's voice but for me Thom sings it better. He wrote it and it's his song. For me nobody can beat Thom Yorke.

  • yes, infact , but i think this is an exception, for this one...i realy slightly find micael s voice for this song better than thom's voice...thom clearly choosed this song for micael, that evening, i think he always wanted to hear micael singing this song,he surely found that it will fit the most, i think he's rigtht....it's just about the voice and both are expressing their feelings while singing, in a special unique way...but in general Radiohead is far far better than REM

  • @joanvoggs first time i've heard this version and I was desperately waiting for Thom to take the mike off him you are so right!

  • @joanvoggs i agree but its not like ur losing the original this is awsome

  • @i was thinking the same things. While i like stipe's voice as well, I can't help but think about those people in the audience who might have came to that show just to hear thom sing that song. that would have sucked.

  • That must have been weird for Thom, one of his biggest influences singing his song.

  • Radiohead and Michael Stipe all at one show. I might have had my first actual eargasm.

  • damn that was fucking impressive.

  • THAT is a massive concert.

  • Michael Stipe is a class act, he learnt all of the words, which so many people don't do and they stutter when covering a song, shows he has total respect for Radiohead, and is a class man.

  • I remeber michael's comment about radiohead "they're so good it's scary". I'm pretty sure Lucky is his favourite radiohead song.

  • I know that quote, it's the reason I began to listen to Radiohead. Was a die hard R.E.M. fan for years before, but that quote led me to Radiohead.

  • I can see Thom on an actual trance when Stipe is singing This is going to be a glorious day I can feel my luck could change... sweeet! awesome momentus

  • When Ed was strumming behind the nut, was he actually making any noise?

  • la mejor version del mundo

con el UNICO MIcheal Stipe !!!

    bellos

    me encantan.
