Good vid. Need to find out how powerful a neo magnet truly is since I was planning to get like 4 of these in 4 inches diameter. Guess that's just an accident waiting to happen. Grrr think it's safe to only use 1 at a time.

Remember when YouTube had no ads? Remember when Vevo had no part in YouTube and WE could post music videos? Remember when YouTube was better? It was great back then, so why did they go and change it? We loved the old YouTube, and we want it back. WHO"S WITH ME?

What would such magnet do to your blood? From what I understand our blood is red because of the iron oxide in it. Why does everybody feel fine touch such strong magnet then?
@SlavaSvarogu Magnetic fields are not harmful unless they are much much much much stronger than the one produced by this magnet (stronger than anything on Earth). You would need a magnetic field as strong as the ones produced by magnetars which would tear the electrons from the atoms in your body.
@STEVEGET that doesnt always work and for it to get rid of 100% of data will take maybe 3-4 hours the way i do it is by taking it apart and scratching up the disc using a screw driver then snapping it into loads of pieces
That's a crazy strong magnet. Was this the largest size you were able to get? I know that, at least in California, you have to be licensed to handle the really large Neodymium magnets.
@devonkeim i cant find what i said. but yes, i have got one on my thumb at this moment. when you chuck one of these magnets at someone's locker, they will be scared shitless from the sound it makes. in order to get it off it takes about 2 full minutes to get it to the edge and yank it off. the trouble comes when you have two of them - be FUCKING careful. i *had* two. my brother decided to play with them behind my back and one of them shattered when they collided - 5 quid down the drain.
@devonkeim check the other videos such as "neodymium magnet lifting 190 pounds" - when magnets come together, the closer they are the greater the force gets (exponential). if your finger were to get in the way of these two magnets, definitely bruising, possible skin breakage, possible bone fractures. no joke!
I've just bought a few, just so peeps know, there are different standards, N42 seems like the most common, but they arent as strong as the more expensive and durable N52. I like the spheres, they still have a lot of pull and they are near impossible to break and they wont pinch you.
They either wrap it in a bunch of bubble wrap or in a foam enclosure. The magnetic field doesn't reach out very far so as long you have 5 or so inches on each side your fine.
TV's only use electrostatics (high voltage) to steer the beam and electromagnets to focus the beam to the dot. BTW, it's not really good for your TV or your cell phone to do this stuff with high power magnets but it does what he is showing if you really want to try it and ruin your stuff or someone you don't like.I would only do it on an old TV that I don't expect to use. anymore. These magnets can really hurt you if your not careful too. Get pinched between 2 or a piece of metal and find out.

Wrong. Inside the glass there is a metal screen. If you look closely you will see it. The maganet attracts it and moves it enough to distort the image.
@Cyanmint Plus magnets don't usually affect things that don't have moving parts...solid state drives and flash drives shouldn't be affected...I've had my cell phone and iPod sitting on subwoofer magnets and nothing has happened to them.
I can just see some kid getting one of these... running up to thier grandma or grandpa... and tearing the pacemaker right out of thier chest like a scene from alien.

Can you screw up your TV doing that? I tried some weak normal magnets and got the pretty colors on the screen without permanent damage, I'm just wondering if the whole screen-rape thing is damaging for the tv? gonna get me one of these soon
Yes, you can permanently damage a TV with a magnet. CRT TVs can have permanent damage done to them if you have a magnet near them long enough, but some CRT TVs have a degaussing coil which will correct most of the damage done by the magnet when the TV is turned on. I don't think LCD TVs are greatly affected by magnets, but if you have a big enough I think it can cause damage to the TV. I don't recomend putting a magnet near a TV unless you don't care about the TV.
Hah, in the mean time, I managed to get permanent discoloration with my small ordinary magnet, but I moved the magnet around the discolored part and it went away gradually.
and this is why i keep my two 2x2 cubes far far away from eachother and wrapped in a shirt and put in a wood box.

For those interested in buying any of these Neodymium magnets, then my advice would be to find a company in your own country to buy them from!
As if your buy them from abroad, then you could end up paying 2 or 3 times the cost of the actual magnets, just for your postage.

Set them on fire. With proper temp it will demagnetize them and you can pull them apart quite easily (unless they melt together)

actually i think its both.. it moves the metal screen, and affects the magnetic feild, causing electrons to change direction.
if you disconnect the electro magnets on the back of a picture tube, all you get is a dot on screen.
