  • This is when cubby was around 2 months old, I just put a couple of new videos of him when he is 3 years old (pet fox 10 & pet fox 11)

  • noisy little squirt :D

  • sooooo cute

  • how is the fox?

  • how is the fox?

  • whoaaaa i didnt know foxes made noises like that.

  • Someone get back to me on this. Dose anyone know where its league in the USA to own a fox as a pet WITHOUT a license? Thank you.

  • Lol, he's wound up.

  • lol that is really cute! but it looks like your dogs can kill it two ways... eating it or laying on it lol

  • Oh man, he is the most adorable little thing ever! I've been thinking about getting a fox as a pet, but this cinches it. Now to get one.

Speaking of which, how DOES one acquire a fox? :S

  • teh fuck! the dog was trying to eat him, cute fox though!

  • thats like the cutest thing ive ever seen

  • fuck man.. im jelous now.. FUCK YOU....

  • This is the cutest thing in the world. He was so cute laying on his side then yipping.

  • hey what kinda fox is this

  • I wants one ;__:

  • that is just such a cute fox.

  • oh now i no y u named him cubby

  • You said the fox was rescued from cubbing season...what is that? I'm glad you saved the little fox. Such a cutie as is your dog!

  • Cute is an understatement!!

  • Aw i love his lil bark thing he does, cute name to!

  • i just love foxes theyr so cute

  • What an adorable bark! i adore this fox

  • Aww

  • lol it's like they're kissing :P

  • omg your black dog looks like mine

  • I want one now!!!:(

  • absolutely beautiful! i love foxes so much, didnt know you could keep them as pets.. 5 stars to you!

  • Ah I love the noises foxes make. I am such a sissy this video reminds me of my fox playing with my cat and it makes me all teary eyed. You are so lucky!

  • hmm the little fox was licking the dogs mouth because he thought it was his mum

licking his mouth would force him to throw up food which he could eat

  • lmao the fox was going ninja on the hound

  • thats a kit fox the smallest kind n earth

  • lol it looks like the dog gets kicked in the balls at 00:43 or 00:44

  • i think youre right thats why he walked off..lol i bet it hurt

  • yeah that's why he walked off they were swinging too lol...i bet that didnt feel good...lol

  • Foxes are tameable and there are loads of them in the UK, and some people who find an abandoned kit keep it as a pet. A red fox doesn't make a good pet for one main reason though - the smell of fox musk is something else. In Russia they recently bred "pet" foxes from the silver mutation of the red fox, and over a few generations bred out the smell. Most people don't keep ferrets (polecats) for the same reason.

  • Omg I Love Ity

My Nickname The Fox Dis Video Awesome Someone Tell Me If It Legal To Own A Fox

32 Seconds Made Me Piss Myself Hits Its Head On The Wall Love It lol

    Good Vid

  • lol this fox is adorable

  • It's is like Fox and the hound *_*

    sooo cuuute ^^

  • If you would like to answer my question, I would greatly appreciate it. Is it even legal to own a FOX as a pet in the United Kindom? If so, then I will greatly consider moving there. I just love foxes!

  • Whoa, wait a minute, is it even legal to keep FOXES as pets? I have been researching the laws here in U.S.A., Texas and I am still confused by the "unspecificness" of the laws. If you could help me with the legality of this I would really appreciate it because I have wanted a pet for so long, but my father does not allow pets in his house. I am waiting until the day that I will be independent to actually get a pet, and I am hoping that the pet is a FOX. Thanks

    abdiel3

  • @abdiel3

Certian states require that you first apply for a license to own a Fox. In most states you can own one as a pet, and in others you may only keep them for breeding purposes. Some states do not allow the ownership of any animals deemed "Exotic"

Hehe, on a side note, I can just imagine that black lab thinking "Knock it off!" ^_^

  • shouldn't matter even if it's illegal. It's like that law in Tennissee or something where you cannot stick an ice cream cone in your pocket. Just as long as a neighbor dosent call animal control, your Fox is out of control, etc. on you then no one will bother.

  • Great points. Man made laws are not infallable.

  • Foxes could be related to hyenas.

  • hyenas are related to foxes as well as dogs. ther all share a few common ancesters

  • Lol actually hyenas are a different family altogether (they're actually more closely related to cats, by a slim margin). Foxes, however, belong to the Canid family (same as wolves and coyotes and puppy dogs, obviously :3).

  • ok im wondering..when you first get a fox as a baby are they good pets? will they hurt yorkies?

  • cubby is adorable!

  • that fox makes me happy

  • yo ur an awsome person i love foxes

  • I totaled my go kart in the woods yesterday. After the falling of 20ft, I saw this fox--looking at me. Probably thinking "What the crud happened?" :\

  • hahaha

    they are cute

    and make funny sounds

  • wonderfull. i had a pet squirrel once but he climbed up a tree and i could not get him down. better off i guess, its where he belongs, but he acted the same way. he would turn his belly and play around! i loved it! and i want to get enother one soooo bad.

  • Ha ha, he gave the camera some kissies! ^_^

  • Absolutely fantastic - they obviously adore each other - and well done for showing the commitment not just to rescue your lovely fox, but to take care of its long term welfare also.

  • but im not quite sure that it's a gud idea!

the fox was playing with the dog and asking for a love but dont be fooled, looked like the dog was hitting it against the walls. and i think the sound it made meant stop! that hurt or something!

  • xD lol wacth 23 threw 34

  • OH, a more related comment, cubby sounds so funny. Almost like a human hysterical laugh.

  • Who da cute widdle foxy^^ Who da Cute widdle foxxxxyyyy!... (hugs..and pets belly)

  • so cute...

  • Very Cute!!! Were did you get him? And umm does she actually do a little sqeaky bark?

  • Yes thats him saying hello

  • I know people on the sybilsden message board that actually have foxes as pets. Not recommended for a first pet though. They need a pretty large outdoor pen and they pee on everything from food bowls(with the remains still in it) and furniture. Oh and they love ripping furniture, especially leather. Check your state laws and make sure your vet will treat your fox first..

  • its still not right to domesticate wild animals, and hows he gonna identify a friendly human form a foe, if a hunter is looking down a scope at him from 200 yards, by the time he realised anything he'd b dead

  • Cubby would not be alive today if we had not rescued him. I don't agree with wild animals being pets or kept in cages against their will. Cubby lives on our private land which is a safe wild environment for him. He is a lucky fox!

  • Geez you're obsessed with this... I could see it as a problem if they were forcing the fox to stay with them, but they don't. The fox is free to go anywhere it likes. It's not like they starve and beat the fox. Would you prefer they not rescue the fox and let it die? Please think wisely before making ignorant comments. If you wish to express your opinion, do it in an intelligent way with evidence to support yourself.

I am glad there are people out there who save animals... =)

  • Foxes are my favorite animal! you rescued it your my hero! i always wanted a pet fox like a fennec but red foxes are my favorite kind (but not demesticated :(. that fox would not survive playing my dog:p

  • omg U NEUTERED A FOX!!!

  • Yes he is neutered and fully vaccinated . A foxes average life in the wild is 3 years but in captivity it is 10 +. The neutering guarantees that he will not enter any culling program. We are trying to give Cubby the chance to live the years of a captive fox but the freedom of a wild fox.

  • not enter a culling program whay does this mean, the fox is half domesticated which means he isnt afraid of humans which means he has a poor chance of survival, hes gona make an easy shot!!!

  • He does not trust all humans. We have to introduce him to people and takes along time for him to trust them. He only trusts our dogs and approaches everything with caution. The culling program is to keep fox numbers down (shooting them).

  • Ye but he will make easy prey for a hunter, i think his wild edge and closeness to humans make his life span pretty short, not that i like them

  • We have created a safe enviroment for Cubby so he will never be hunted. Their is only one vixen in his territory and Cubby has had an operation therefore cannot breed. Foxes are beautiful wild animals. I cant help but admire them and their adaptability. It is sad that you cannot see the beauty in them.

  • see this crap here it makes me sick, this is a wild animal, and u have it running around a house with a collar on, ur no better than people who have dancing bears with chains or monkeys begging for money

  • Thankyou for your comment. Cubby is a rescue, he is free to come in and out of the house when he likes. This video was when he was younger and the collar was to here where he was (it had a bell) I dont agree with someone keeping any wild animal as a pet. Cubby chooses to stay aorund us.

  • They are very beautiful animals and I praise you for rescuing this one. I am glad you are learning from him and have the opportunity to learn about his behavior. Take care and I hope the fox does well :)

  • wow, that is really interesting. they still look cool, though =p. But seriously, has any of that been hapening to you're fox?

  • The answer to your question is no. Cubby still has a high level of adrenalin. Cubby maps out his familiar surroundings here at home. If something is moved say a tractor is placed near his meadow, when he spots it he freezes looks at it then runs across many fields. When this happens we don't see him for days. We call it a "wild attack". This is quite normal and is his instinct. We limit change so that cubby is happy and stays around.

  • In my opinion, foxes should be domesticated. think about it, foxes are hunted because there overpopulated, and raid farms just to survive. Foxes are a very popular animal (my favorite, too, duh), and the only reason people hate them is because they raid farms for food. If they were domesticated, they would be fed and cared for, and the ones that are wiled wont need to raid farms because they had enough food in the wild. it makes sense, doesn't it? Iv'e wanted a pet fox my whole life =p.

  • They may not look like the foxes we know if that happened! type in - Russian "tame foxes

  • This is really nice to watch. I didn't realise how small he was until the dog came on.

Red foxes are my favourite animals. I would do anything for a pet one. They really are beautiful creatures and hunting them is beyond "wrong".

  • They are very intelligent. Cubby jumps into our arms when he wants to go outside, it was his idea and it works well. Once we did not let him out of the house for 3 days apart from on a lead because he was on a course of antibiotics and painkillers. He was constantly jumped into our arms to tell us he wanted to go out. In those three days he enjoyed climbing up and sitting on our head while we walked around the house!

  • Few wild foxes live in our Coconut Grove neighborhood anymore, perhaps none. But, a few years ago, there was a grey fox seen occasionally. For a period of time, whenever I walked our small (fox-sized) dog at night, oftent the grey fox would follow us, twenty or thirty paces behind. If I stopped, it stopped. It seemed to be curious, not about me, but about the strange sight of an apparent "fox" (Petey) leading a human along for a walk.

  • Ha! I think you are right the fox must have been wondering what was going on!

  • Astounding behavour, both the fox and the dog. So beautiful to witness

  • Yes! he is doing well! Although he does not trust any other dogs other than the ones he has grown up with. This is a very good thing so that he does not get in trouble once back in the wild!

  • hmm, can he survive on his own out there?

    I doubt it... :(

Does he behave like a dog? Can you pet him? What's his character like?

Since foxes are always made out to be bad, I'd really like to know more about one!

  • It would be cruel to just through him into the wild. He is never trapped in a cage but has the choice to sleep in the house with the dogs or to come and eat some food. He thinks the dogs and us are his family. We give him affection as would his family have done in the wild.

  • To answer your question about foxes being bad. Yes they are in the country side. He is a killer enjoying catching rabbits, mice, small birds and sadly has killed 3 of our chickens. He does not kill then eat it but he takes his kill and buries it to keep for the future. If he was disturbed with a kill he would either swallow it very quickly (if it was small) or try to run with it. As much as we love foxes they need to be culled as they are very destructive.

  • I forgot to mention that he has a wonderful personality. He wags his tail like a dog when he sees us and screams at us to say hello. People who don't know him think it is right to let him sniff there hand (like you would with a strange dog). This is not right with Cubby he just bites them. Instead strangers have to sit on the ground and let cubby come up and pull at their clothing until he knows they are no threat.

  • i wish you didnt let him go... im worried for him with all the jerks out there that want to kill these beautiful animals... *sigh* hope hes safe...

  • Poor little guy! He kept waiting for your dog to throw up its food for him to eat (can't think of the correct word at the moment, lol!) and the sign of belly showing is sooo sweet!

I'm a little concerned that he's going back into the wild... he's been near humans so he won't fear them...

    poor little guy...

  • Next month he will have his tracking collar on full time so we can watch his progress. Many people have asked me what happens if he gets trapped with the collar the answer is it has a safety catch. He will always have the opportunity to come home to sleep or to have something to eat if he chooses to. We have records of everything like weight, vaccinations and behaviour. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask

  • Thank you for having interest in Cubbys future. It is not easy to release a fox into the wild with so much human contact! From an early age he has been out on hunting trips on his own and often does not come home for over a week. We monitor this in detail. His environment to be realised into has one vixen for cubby to have a friend (lets hope they get on!)

  • Ahhh! That eases my heart ^_^ I'm often worried about feral critters being raised by humans then released into the wild (I live in the woods, and I have plenty of wild animals about). :) Thanks for explaining!

  • Thats ok, my fault for title "pet fox". I have seen a few wild animals as pets on you tube and its really sad. At least this one has a happy future ahead of him. Any way a fox would make a terrible pet!

  • It's not sad! It's a good thing. Foxes are amazing companions and can be very happy with the luxury of what "domestic" pets have. Of course not everyone should own one, but somebody who's done research on them and is capable of enjoying their behaviors and gives them plenty of space to run, and knows how to keep them, both the animal and the owner are lucky enough to have such a special bond. :)

  • The dog and the fox!:D

  • The dog and the fox! :D

  • so cute!!

  • i think the fox is saying "throw up your food, ma!!"

  • Ha!

  • that video should have been longer; show more of your dog and fox playing.

  • There is a culling program in place where Cubby is to be released. This is good news as foxes will have enough food to survive. Cubby will not be shot. There is a vixen in his new territory, he will be neutered in around a months time before release (so he is not included in the culling program). He is now fully vaccinated to give him a better chance in the wild. He will be tracked for his first winter with a collar to keep an eye on his condition.

  • aww he's precious!! i'm watching all ur vids. he looks like a handful though!

  • Oh yes a handful alright! It will be worth all the hard work when we see him back in the wild!

  • He is that!

  • Very cute, and thank you for saving him :D

  • Oh yes,far more than any dog

  • 8sneaking up humming mission impossable theme* dodo dododo dodo dodo do dodo doodly do!!!!!!!*steals fox and runs away yelling* MISSION COMPLETE!!!!!!MISSION STEAL CUTNESS IS ACOMPLISHED!!!!!!!!!we can all rest in peace knowing i going around the world stealing everything cute......oh he's so playful<3

  • The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy......aw, jeez. I can't believe I almost said that cliche!

  • Ha!

  • amazing...definitly they are better than the humans

  • how did they let you keep the fox if you are from scotland thats were i stay to and i dont think they would allow me to keep one

  • He is a rescue, he would not survive in the wild on his own. He will be soft released in a safe enviroment starting in October. You need to get a wild animal licence if you keep one but they are better in the wild!

  • Pretty. I can smell wild male foxes from almost a mile away here, LOL.

  • Cubby does not smell they are very clean animals, its only his pee and it is worse than a scunk!

  • It's not about cleanliness or the urine... Adult male foxes have a very strong smell produced by the precaudal gland on their tail. Once Cubby gets a bit older you may get an unpleasant surprise.

Dingoes that manage to catch and eat a fox only leave the tail because they just can't tolerate the stench.

  • Yes very true but he shall be soft realised into the wild before we have to smell it hopefully! Although we may smell it if he chooses to visit us!

  • It's SO CUUUUUUUUUUUUTTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His name's Cubbie?

  • Yes his name is cubbie

  • aaaaaaaw! cute thing! looks like it likes being there

  • lol The fox is so small compared to the dog. :3

  • Im putting this on my myspacxe you dont mind do ya?

  • Not at all! I will be putting a new one on soon. He is 3 months old today.

  • Thats so cute! How did you get him as a pet! Tell me whats state you live in that will allow that! God Bless!

  • In Scotland afraid!

  • cute
