Thank you so much for posting this! I went last week, and my camera died after the first 10 minutes of the show, so I didn't get the ending. I was just going through my pictures and videos and had to watch this to finish the show! Definitely my favorite Disney fireworks show! Thanks again!! =D
I have been to Walt Disney World too many times in my 15 years, so I have all of this music pretty much memorized. My favourite song is the one starting from the very beginning until about 1:00; after I hear it, it gets stuck in my head for like the rest of the trip! Out of all the nighttime spectaculars, Illuminations has got to be my favourite (Fantasmic! is close for second, though, seeing as I bought the soundtrack lmao)
I don't hate any of those shows, but it's just that this is the only nighttime show at Disney to NOT contain sugar-sweet music, like the other three shows have!
oh, if only a video could truly capture the majesty of this show. gets me teary-eyed EVERY TIME. hands-down the best fireworks display ive seen in my life. seen it SO many times and i can still never get enough!
The best thing for the composer of the music to do in my opinion is to make this show 20th Century Fox, instead of Disney, because We Go On, and Promise don't sound a lot like Disney to me!
Well hollywood studios has indiana jones and starwars music, and not to mention the music for fantasmic, a higly disney oriented show, has music as beautiful and epic as this.
I just noticed that the center torch in the globe did some "premature ejaculation" at the 4:57 mark. Isn't it supposed to wait for the other torches and release the "points of light" at the same time?
All the torches are lite when the last one (center one) lights up, but yes, the "points of light" was released a little too early from the globe, still a great show!!
This is the best video I've seen so far of the 2nd half of the show. It's a shame that in the 1st half of your video, the fire barge wasn't working. Still great quality video though.
DizzyRhapsody7, you're totally right! This has to be one of the best shows in Disney history. If Walt were still alive, he would be proud of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.
This show is hands down amazing in real life, I never get suck of it like ffrakssake080 said, it's SO awesome! Walt Disney World is the best! I love them!
Probably the most insane firework display in the world! Gotta love it! You can see the people on the other side of the lake when they get to their most bright bit! It was so cool! GOD I WANT TO GO BACK!
There are differences in this older version; 1. From 0:16 to 0:42 every third blast isn't that off, 2. The 1000 blasts of light started unusually early at 4:55, 3. at 5:16 the fireworks blast from the edges, and 4. from 5:19-5:23 the fireworks present day are swirling before exploding. Plus the narration changed a bit.
We saw this in June. I wasn't expecting much, but I was so pleasantly surprised at how awesome a show it is. I just got chills and I'm all teary eyed watching it. I can't wait to go back!
the part at 1:29 always makes me cry no matter where i am. I watched those fireworks just after my nana died and the music just moved me. Every time i watch it i cry. I'm crying now!
Despite the name of the show, the show has a much more complex meaning. It focuses on the progression of earth as a whole from before even the beginning of time up until present. It focuses on how earth is one place, a home for -all- people. And the last bit encourages us to make the best of the future. Much more complex than just focusing on the nations themselves. =] Thus the second part of the name often forgotten: "Reflections of Earth".
The song with lyrics that's played during the fireworks is "We Go On." The song that's played after the show is over is "Promise." Both are available if you buy the Illuminations CD either at WDW or, I'm sure, eBay. And it is a very powerful song. :)
But still, one of the things about the other shows is that they try to do the biggest and the best and the loudest and they go way over the top. I am not saying that they are bad because they are amazing shows. But what I like about the Epcot is that it is flamboyant yet they do not overcrowd the sky with too much smoke or light and they plan perfectly. I also like the addition of the laser lights and the lagoon's reflection and the water foutiain and the Christmas lights.

and thats a very good thing, Epcot at WDW were actually going for a less Disney like show, no sugar sweet music like up at the castle, and fantasmic,.
this is more like music you would hear at the Olympics :)
filathor 2 years ago 3
I actually meant by saying 20th Century Fox music, playing music like in "Anastasia" and in "Quest For Camelot!"
hersheyandshadow 2 years ago
So your saying it deosn't sound bueatiful? Because this beauty is what disney sounds like. Sorry but this is disney.
rackas321 2 years ago
To me, EPCOT is the only park in WDW that does NOT have Disney music, I think this sounds like Non-Disney music.

So, they don't actually 'illuminate the nations' as they used do? There doesn't seem to be any part in the show that focuses on each country.

yes they do :)
