See theres a lot of good different metal out there you just cant be close minded. Like I love death metal but I also love atlernative metal like Tool and Deftones (people that have actually listened to this band will know their not in any way nu-metal.) Bands like Gojira, Decrepit Birth, Psycroptic, and The Faceless all are doing amaing things in tech death. Other bands like Genghis Tron and HORSE the band are amazing as well. PsyOpus is fuckin nuts.
If only every musician could think this way about music. Make something different, do your own thing, don't say "I want to be just like Metallica!" there already is a Metallica...be original.
I feel the exact same way Paul does about making music. It took me a while to get Cynic's music, but now that I do, Im very grateful. Paul is a genious.
I miss being able to jump in my car drive 15 min to their studio/warehose and hear these guys practice music that no one else had heard yet miss ya Paul, Kennibis
I was very cool but this was all when only a hndful of people knew about them they were coming out of the Death/Thrash thing and starting to study Jazz Fusion and more tecnical music,The Yoga was Pauls thing, I would work out with him, but other than that his meditation was his own personal thing
