Absolutely that is Daves solo. Its easy to tell if you hear the entire original recording which includes Grossmans solo as well. We did this performance several times including 3x with Liebman present, twice with him playing. The solos come from a transcription book available via Perla's website. It is a meticulously done work of 100+ pages of every solo of Lieb and Grossman from the Elvin Jones record "Live at the Lighthouse".

Are you sure that that is Liebman's solo? The tune is Steve Grossman's and solo sounds more like Grossman rather than that of Liebman.

Gene Perla! What a mother hubbard on bass!
If you've ever heard the original "Live At The Lighthouse" album, you know!
Listen to "Fancy Free" and get a taste of one of the most incredible bassists of the time!
