  • I like THIS video...after all, it is a tribute

  • and what's with the rubber legs dancing. so gay.

  • Listen to the bass and watch what he's playing. He's not even playing. You people are stupid for thinking this is good. And the dancing is beyond retarded.

  • i liked this cover. everyone knows Elvis was the King, but they did a fair job.

But of course Elvis's rendition is the besst.

  • horrible cover just flat out bad

  • @primetime429 agreed. unbearable. And they're not even playing. watch the bass guitarist closely.

  • better than original ,

  • this version of 'their' cover really doesn't do them any justice. i would check out the music video version. sadly i have to rate them a thumbs down. mostly because they're on TOTP (only the greatest live music show on tv) and he looks comatose. all i have to say is, boo!!!

otherwise FYC's cover is hands - down tits.

  • bellissima forse anche piu dell'originale

  • That was SURPRISINGLY GOOD and very ENTERTAINING...Best cover in my OPINION...You noticed I said "COVER"so dont be REPYING "WHAT ABOUT ELVIS"...Hopefully you know by now what the definition of "COVER"is..I had to put that in there...lol..You would be surprised people...LOLOLOLOL

  • una delle migliori versioni.

    bellissima.

  • emozioni del passato....

  • Music of Elvis is good

  • This is much better than Elvis and Roland is the best british singer since Eric Burdon (the Animals)

  • Fyc were great roland gift had a great voice

  • WTF ??? Ugh....

  • this is freakin horrible! I'm a huge Elvis fan, and this is almost an insult! the arrangement sounds like they are randomly playing! His voice doesn't even fit the song! Ugh...

  • @mat411 you sau this is horrible but on the other hand you favourite The Muppets singing the classic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Each to their own LOL !!

  • OK here's how to "do" Roland Gift's voice. You will need to eat four or five Garibaldi biscuits without any liquid - this forms a slightly gummy base at the roof of the mouth. Then put the kettle on but straight away forget you have. Then decide to make a cup of tea. This will allow you to achieve the high notes as you burn your fingers. As your guests applaud wildly, end by revelaing that you have also produced a perfectly soft boiled egg during the performance, in 3 minutes 49 seconds.

  • @sleep4613 stop spamming you idiot

  • bellisima voce

  • 1:37 Sick dance moves.

  • What the hell are the guitarists doing?? They look absolutely rediculous. They need to get laid and stop moving like virgins.

  • @Chiefwiddler haha

  • @Chiefwiddler You gotta cut'em some slack. This was the 80's afterall. Remember.....tube socks, flooding with tight legged jeans about 5 inches too short, and the New Kids on the Block? Remember how all the kids started taking karate after Karate Kid came out? You looked and acted like an idiot back then too. Didn't everyone?

  • fantastic song, fantastic voice

  • Whatever happened to them? Great track. :O))

  • Cool & Grooy songh & video.

  • Elvis' version of this song is hands down the best version, but i think they did a great version of it,very talented group i think, thanks for posting

  • I am a big Elvis Presley fan, but I have to say that this group did a good job on the song.

  • I don't think any of them are gay except for Jimmy Somerville, who sings backing vocals and isn't in the video.

  • @tonycatman Thank goodness.

  • @tonycatman is that true about Jimmy somerville? Never knew that but now I can hear him. Cheers! :O))

  • fuckin lols

  • oh la vache, les costumes!!!

  • he is a gay....just look at his mouth....nothing compares to Elvis

  • Elvis would appreciate it...they are great

  • @minguzzi I doubt that.

  • Comment removed

  • hm... four gay satellites are trying to rape Elvis in heaven?

  • The jackets are a tribute to the "50,000,000 Elvis fans can't be wrong" cover.

  • totally amazing voice!! shame about those jacket though...lol..

  • Hey FYC fans, couple of years ago some cool dude made a 8 minute remake of this song and i found it on YT. Love to hear it again if anyone cane help Teo.

  • a very underatted band gift has an amazing voice and the bassists dancing ....well what can you say

  • I've never seen a guitarist move around so much yet sound so damn smooooooth! GREAT memories!

  • The bassist and guitarist in FYC were originally with the English Beat. To question their mastery is ridiculous. I never got to see them perform with the Beat, but I did see FYC at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, one of the best shows ever. And they are some of the best guitarists I've ever seen. Their dancing was unreal, like rubberband legs going the whole f'ing time. Amazing.

  • @Alejandroenfuego I was lucky enough to see the Beat in 1980 that was the best gig I went to from that period.

  • @Alejandroenfuego They're not even playing... look at the bass player and look at what he's playing... you're retarded!!! "best guitarists you've ever seen"... yet you can't even notice something like that.

  • Notice where they got the costumes from? At least they're paying homage in their own way...

  • Ans listen to Jimmy Summerville in the back!

  • this is amazing, but the elvis's version is just.....the best

  • LOL!!!!!!! 1:00 that fkn guitar player is epic man lol

  • rock on roland great singing

  • best ever

  • No,no,no, I love the singer's voice and while the guiterast might be off in his dancing, tell me you dont chuckle watching.

I like Elvis version but this one has me rocking....cool

  • his dancing is so cool

  • great voice

  • Ok...the guitarist might actually be playing the song but hes off in parts, so I doubut it. The bassist is strumming to an awesome bass line that is not strummed...the drummer looks like he is actually playing the part and of course the singer is singing the part...just my obsrvation.

  • Pretty bad, but the dude singing has an awesome voice.

  • To date, the greatest cover EVER !!! YES , I've said it !!! And on disc it's even better !!! Funky costumes and all !! LONG LIVE THE 80'S !!!!!!!

  • This was my night club food as I grew up.

Brilliant - The Raw and the cooked!

    Carbon

  • This song is beautiful, but go and see Elvis singing it and just compare...

  • Andy Cox you make me chuckle!!

  • please don't ever take video off.....I watch it every day especially the guitarist who seems to be soooooo enjoying this song alot more than i do. Love this song and video

  • Is it possible band costumes from the

80's caused global warming? Just a thought.

  • the folks in the 80s were laid back!

  • LOVE this song......Can't get too much of this version.

  • Just like Elvis;-) His suit i mean.

  • just great if you don't like it get a life

  • poeue hemos llegado a esto gabi?

  • awful, thats al I can say

  • Wow... That's really all I can say.

  • I love this cover

  • I just love this song - the way the fyc's did it. Esp like Jimmy Somerville's backing vocals.

  • Roland Giff...voice of an angel.....Elvis ...he did this song with dignity.

  • Whatever happened to fyc? Are they still about? Loved the unique sound of Roland's voice

  • Yeah the only voice that came close in terms of uniqueness was that dude out of canned heat!

  • Believe it or not in the height of the FYC's run of fame Casey of KC and The Sunshine Band tried to sue the FYC for copying his vocal style obviously that lawsuit was laughed out of court.

  • super..............

  • I love that it wasn't lip -synched.

  • wasn't lip sync'd? ummm watch the bass player he's strumming the bass while the bass lines are a difficult picking. I love the band though wish Roland G didnt bail on them for an acting career.

  • roland has such an awesome voice.

  • It is the best cover ever (no complanes please)

  • @Riv64 well no shit. Top of the Pops is only vocals and they're not playing. notice the bass player not even stumming the song right. if you didn't notice that, you might be mildly retarded. Watch nirvana at the Top of the Pops before you reply with more nonsense.

  • great version

  • Love the gold lame' jackets....Such a visual tib to Elvis from the 10000 fans cant be wrong album cover. Great cover too...But no one ever can out sing Elvis on an Elvis song....Just my opinion

  • Not just your opinion, mine too.

  • I just wish I could get the album title correct....

    "50000 fans can't be wrong"

  • yes

    thats jimmy

  • Is that Jimmy Somerville doin backing vocals??

  • Indeed!

  • Totally!!

  • scooterists

  • this guy is like totally cool !!!!

  • I think it's a great tribute to Elvis, from day one musicians were inspired by him, but better than Elvis? Impossible!

  • f´ck no Elvis owns this song !

  • How one couldn t agree with you??

  • he may own the song but the f.y.c. versionis better

  • I'd forgotten Jimmy Somerville did backing vocals on this. Brilliant!!!

  • Crazy sort of but I really like this!

  • do i hear Jimmy Sommerville in the background???????

  • ...ew. haha, this is horride.

  • is this a joke or what?

  • Hahah, I love his style. it's like hes going crazy.

  • the 2 clowning around in the background are andy cox and dave steele from the beat....americans call them english beat

  • niabandtv i saw it the first time round on top of the pops and never noticed just how bad this guy needed the toilet untill your comment very funny!

  • he's trying to perform the Elvis Presley dance....ok! nobody ever did it as well as Elvis...

  • The definitive arrangement, IMO.

  • better'n Elvis!

  • If you have US citizenship, it should be revoked!

  • IMPOSSIBLE! i was born here! what're you fussing about, anyway?????

  • Its funny reading the replies of Elvis fanboys. this is about the only song that i have ever heard that i prefer over the original.

  • I know what I'm going to wear to my wedding now.

  • Is that Colin Powell singing?

  • Hello! Roland Gift is one of the pioneers of the second British Invasion in the 80s and he has an incredible set of pipes...

  • verry good song, gif me feeling like i now all.

  • only he

  • the guy on the left, dance like a king.....

  • i love the invisible untangible somerville ; )

  • This song's kinda perfect for them. o.o

  • Me encanta esta version, le hace mucha justicia a la original.

I love this version, Elvis RIP.

  • Comment removed

  • The Cannibals were a class Britsh act from the 80's

  • i love this version elivs would wobble in his grave

  • Elvis was The King but he has pasted along the best songs ever to anyone who appreciates them....

  • I love the fine young cannibals, but this fucking sucks

  • He's supposed to be the "King of Rock and Roll". So, let him "roll"! :) BTW, I love this version! :P

  • Roland Gift is his name

  • rock on kevin rowland great although a little too small picture

  • its not kevin rowland,he was dexys signer this is roland gift

  • hahha oh well i knew it was roland i got that bit right never mind

  • LOL yeah half rights better than completely wrong ha ha x

  • That's it! Rebel against widescreen!

  • ...

  • It's a good song and on the background you hear the voice of Jimmy Summerville what makes this version of the FYC complete.

  • honest? Jimmy Summerville? damn!

  • one of my all time favorite songs ok elvis presley did before but fycs is very good

  • why is everyone comparing apples to oranges? Credit must be given to the FYC for even attempting to do a song so singularly identified with Elvis. That they came up with an interpretation that was fresh was a real surprise at the time and this performance has stood up over the years. Its lightyears beyond anything that's happening today [but that's not really saying much].

    the FYC totally suceed.

  • superb!

  • talk about video compression...what the hell's with the goony picture???

  • They dont even come close to Elvis, this was not good at all.

  • ...è la mia gioventù che non c'è più...

  • great FYC!!! amazing '80!!!

  • Well hmm like Elvis and I'm not sure it would be fair to compare Elvis to anyone.

But I liked the song when it came out and I thought it was cool that someone would attempt this song.

It probably made some young kids take note of a song that really raio stations are to stupid and don't play it. For example Q107 classic rock stations what is classic rock without Elvis!!!

  • I like FYC but Elvis owns this song.

  • Umm...not really sure if this is doing Elvis a favor

  • He so cool...he's doing the barely moving dance!

  • Whats he doing on the guitar?..lol..his dance moves.

  • I live on the other side of the pond so forgive my ignorance but is Top of the Pops still on? What about Ready, Steady Go?

  • TotP ended regular broadcasts two or three years ago, but they've had year end shows even after it was cancelled. And Ready Steady Go? I had to look that one up... it ended in 1966. :D

  • He has a very unique voice. I like his voice. The song may not be the best but he is amazing.

  • Whoa gold suit overload! Great cover though with Jimmy Sommerville on backing vocals.

  • Too upbeat and jolly. This is supposed to be a depressing song, not an easy-going carefree song.

  • Hell no, it's not supposed to be a depressing song, despite the lyrics. The "upbeat/jolly" is just the thing that makes this song so great

  • Actually, unless one is psychotic or has another mental disorder, the words set the mood. In other words, if a person is smiling and says "I'm so depressed" it doesn't make sense. Just as, if you sing "We're caught in a trap. I can't walk out because I love you too much baby...." it doesn't make since to be happy about it.

  • if i had to compile my top ten songs of all time, this would be my number one.

    FANTASTIC.

  • Oh No,Say it aint so Joe!These "Fine fucked up cannibals" cant be playing with the Kings Gold can they????Yikes..Roland Gift dressed up in an Elvis suit and the gap Toothed former King of Gay Porn robbing Elvis's Grave just a little bit more..This is A Crime!

  • Elvis would love the outfits!!! Looks like him on one of his album covers... but can't recall which one.

Song version is good, but definitely not as strong as Elvis's version. Plus this singer sometimes is hard to hear and at times but too many syllables in the word "suspicious".

But Elvis would be proud of the effort.

  • These guys were kind of an 80's Bee Gees. Really original and nostalgic at the same time. I think they did an excellent job with this remake. Top shelf. He DOES have the conviction and motivation in this version. Elvis would think it was very cool, I'm sure.

  • This is better than the one Elvis did

  • no its not. Its different thats all

  • this version is by far superior just because of jimmys backing vocals alone

  • pas mal du tout mais ça me donne envie de réécouter ELVIS !

  • of all the suspicious minds singers this one is the best in the west

  • Its ok, but not even close to being as good as Elvis.

His interpretation is good for how he sings but does not do the song justice as he lacks conviction in the words

  • Elvis is better than this, sorry.

  • Whatever happened to this band..one of the best....I am going to see ABC, Flock of Seagulls...love the Pet Shop Boys....Midnight Oil...Jimmy Sommerville...would love to see TFC...what happened to him...he is one of the best vocalists ever!

  • Even Elvis would have appreciated this!

  • Nice cover, FYC's are awesome...

  • Great Cover!!!

I was interested also in elvis thanks to this tune.

It was a very good meeting.

※This sentence was translated on the English translation site in Japan.

    I'm sorry in poor English.

  • Thanks for ruining the best Elvis song ever.
