  • Nuclear wessels comrade!

  • funny

  • i freaking love mccoy.

    oh, and spock, too.

  • @missdexterity And Kirk?

  • @10MoNiOl goes without saying ;)

  • Doors that open by themselves and little flip open communicators!?! boy were they off the mark!

  • i watched 10 mins of this not one bits funny

  • Logicaly Logic should pervial in such unlogical times.

They found a planet last week just like Earth

Spock and Data are waiting on us.

  • "That hurts worse than the uniform."

I love McCoy in this episode.

  • Why is he yelling at Serek? He didn't start it, but DAMN . . . he was going to finish it! LOL. Would have been self defense . . . . besides, the original Serek rocks my socks! . . . I miss him and the original Amanda. The new ones just completely fall short of the standard they set.

  • WESSELS

  • im i the only one that watch this whole thing

  • @TheVideoboyz NO :)

  • How Spock was able to keep himself from knocking all of Sarek's logical teeth out is beyond me...

  • It would have been hilarious if Kirk were to make out with Spock's mother.

  • @TheStigmadeign thats a real dumb post

  • @conn324 I posted it so people like you could have something to sneer at.Go hump yourself cave boy.

  • @TheStigmadeign you are 39 you answer me like a 10 year old, cave boy! thats so junior high school

  • @conn324 And you Icon pic looks like an Oompa Loompa.I was being cynical you idiot.I swear some douche bags like yourself who think they are better than everyone think they can just waltz into a comment and pwn someone.THINK AGAIN and try not to hurt yourself.Looks like you've been hurt enough in the tanning booth with your Orange-OinkPink Skin.

  • @TheStigmadeign you think that my icon is me!you are the douche i never said i was better then you, i said your post was real uncalled for okay, we can keep sending these posts to each other or just call a truce ball is in your court!!!

  • @conn324 Ok listen Grape Ape,You responded to a post in the beginning insulting me.So of course the chain of reactions began and perpetuated. All you have to do is NOT RESPOND.

  • @TheStigmadeign grape ape willy wonka references come on now! i am a trek fan so are you lets stop with the nastiness does not matter who started it i want to end it okay i have so many fav episodes lets compare and no more fights!!!

  • @Howler76

well i would like to respectfully say: PHUCK ALL THAT, next generation is all that matters (and deep space 9 in small doses)

  • A teddy bear!? I love McCoy!!! Always looking for the humanity in Spock!!

  • @utscuba On my other channel where I posted Star Trek 6 at the end Spock unveils his most inner human nature. He says he would tell Star Fleet to Go to Hell.

  • I am going to sue Donald sutherland for puncturing my eardrums!

  • Note also that the SATICONS are also definitely not represented here. Nor do I think they'd be invited! (Do a little hw---Some will know exactly who I mean.) They were definitely NOT part of the Federation (as w/ the Kling-ons & the Romulins) & though their race's motives as a whole are not made clear to us (they're only shown in 2 LIS ep's), they are without a doubt verrry sssssinister & dark whissspering creatures themselves! (They had great tailors though---Especially the 3 sssinister hats!)

  • What's funny is (antennas & what we learned from Star WARS I-III aside), from 31:00-31:35 it seems pretty clear/possible that the Andorian speaking shares a genetic bloodline with THE EMPEROR (think Star WARS VI). They have almost the same accent & same way of (over/whisper-annunciating words!) I would definitely say the 2 races (or at least those 2 beings) are related genetically. Maybe the Andorians interefered in the Emperor's personal evolution (for reasons unknown)...Genetic SOUNDALIKES!

  • Well, I really enjoyed this episode, rather more than I expected too... It wasn't so much as one single thing, just a very enjoyable watching experience. The performances of Shatner, Nimoy, and Kelley were even more enjoyable than usual (we got to see so much of each character's personality in this one!) and I really liked Lenard and Wyatt as well. Great plot and strong acting are a lovely combination, I must say. I was just lovely and fun and all of the things I most admire about Star Trek.

  • The episode would have been more believable if the Talerex ambassador wore a better fitting mask.

  • 17:08

    OMFG!!!!!

NOT FAIR! NOT FAIR! NOT FAIR! NOT.FAIR.

    *faints*

  • @CartmanFan4ever1

what are you talking about, whats not fair about him talking on the phone

  • @TENNSUMITSUMA

    *laughing*

    Good One!

  • @CartmanFan4ever1

ok, but i was serious. whats not fair

  • AHHH wow i nearly shat my pants laughing

Kirk "would you like to like to beam down and visit your parents?"

spock "ambassador Sarek and his wife ARE my parents"

Kirk *oh uh damn thats awkward shit*

  • at 9.50 is like a zoo

  • I classify the Tellerite Race (first shown at 9:18) to be "beattyoid" in character, due to their swine-like appearance.

  • Starting at 6:40, how can the Vulcan Way be either better or logical if it has kept a father and son from talking to each other for 18 years? I consider that the epitome of illogic.

  • In the Remastered Episode there should have been smaller Starfleet ships in the background when the Enterprise, NCC-1701 was in orbit of Planet Vulcan. Some smaller eariler versionsof the Starfleet Science vessels could have been seen as well as a few cargo ships andan eariler version of the type of ship used one day as the Infamous Starship USS Reliant,NCC-1864.

a space Station or two should have been in the background too. Vulcan is one of the Founding member Planets of the Federation.

  • Spock's father disses him like mad in the beginning. He salutes the Capt. and Dr., but refuses to salute Spock. Later he tells his wife, Amanda, not to embarrass Spock with her childhood tales about him?

C'mon do you think you could have spoken with your son or are you too emotional to deal with the fact he didn't attend the Vulcan Science Academy?

    Yes, I love Mr. Spock.

  • anddddddddddd

  • Hmm... a bunch of red shirts... this can't end well....

  • @themusicofthestars Actually, isn't this a rare episode where red shirts aren't in season?

  • As Lady Justice measures the weight of dignity, it is balanced against indignity, not the common. Indignity has always been Satan's fulcrum for war and greed.

  • As Lady Justice measures the weight of dinity, it is balanced against indignity, not the common.

  • Thanks for posting CBS!!!

  • I love Star Trek. This is one of my fav eps too.

  • Starting at 38:55, where ELSE would he hide a radio besides his antenna...LOL

  • That drop kick maneuver Kirk used on the Andorian looked like it hurt him more than the attacker. o_O

  • "Tellarites do not argue for reasons, they simply argue."

    LOL!

  • Jane Wyatt's performance and casting is something you rarely saw then or see today: a fifty year old woman, still beautiful even with the wrinkles around the eyes but with classic fashion model features: beautiful eyes, prominent cheekbones, strong jaw line, nordic lips and face. She was a very beautiful post middle-age woman cast in a primary role, something rare today. And, she was beautiful then, even at 50.

  • @WEAKKNEED She's got to be over 50

  • @generatrix999 Yeah, I was just approximating her age and erring on the low side, trying to be nice. She was born Aug 1910 and the episode aired Nov 1967, so she was about 57 when this was filmed.

  • haha, McCoy's line at the end always makes me laugh. very well delivered.

  • I used to love this show religulously when I was a kid !

  • "Perhaps you should forget logic, and devvote yourselffff to mo-ti-vationsss of pa-sssss-ion, or gain. Those are reasons for murrrrr-der."

I absoluely LOVE that guy's accent. It really gives the Andorians a sense of alien-ness.

  • What the hell was Spock doing in Engineering? Hey just in this room to continue a serious of awkward moments, then leave.

  • Ok, got to 1:30 and remembered the OTHER reason I love the original series, the music! Vulcan drums, da-da-da-da-dum! Da-da-da-da-dum!

  • The only problem I have with StarTrek is that it's military socialism.

    .

I think the original series benefited from the fact that they got so little money for special effects, they had to make up for it with STORY!

  • @CurtHowland I think that ST shows a nicely run government, and the way things should be run in the future.

  • @IDigFatCats A benevolent dictatorship is the most efficient form of government.

    .

It just never stays benevolent for long.

    .

Every form of government will be corrupt, by its very nature. You're trying to assert that the future should emulate a TV show.

    .

It's easy to write a perfect government, in fiction. That way, any government works. Reality is a little bit different.

  • @CurtHowland The Federation is not a dictatorship. It is a post-capitalism democracy. There is no need for money, for purely fictional reasons. Plus, in astronomical terms, our government systems are still in their infancy.

  • @IDigFatCats "for purely fictional reasons."

    .

On that we completely agree. A fiction which broke down in the later series.

    .

Or just when convenient, such as "wealthy dilithium miners" in Mudd's Women, with whom Kirk was authorized to negotiate to purchase the crystal for the Enterprise. Purchase with what?

    .

Wealthy with what, gold pressed latinum?

    .

It's a good show. Holding it up to the standards of reality only ruin it.

  • 11:04 It's Christmas morning!

    Haha love you, Bones!

  • at 1:08 i was expecting a random bomb to go off in that room full of redshirts.

  • wow 3 commericials breaks is alot better than what you get ont tv!

  • Sarek is one bossy man. If I was woman I hate to br told what to do all the time.

  • hahahaa go mccoy for getting the last word!

  • Bobby.... " XXxxXX". His EGO is bigger than His Cooking...!

  • @ROGER459 AMEN!!!!!!

  • Uhuru is one fine looking Moorish sister. They should have had more Moorish sisters featured in Star Trek. Oh well, they missed out.

  • All those red shirts and not one of them died. What's going on here?

  • @BolonYokte

No kidding! Usually security sucks on the Enterprise. I wouldn't trust those red shirts to guard my breakfast. One would probably die somehow while doing it.

  • best episode

  • @miisterrD I think it would be possible that vulcan dopplegangers exist in the future :p

  • Bones~!

  • Emotional isn't she? Indeed. Why did you marry her? At the time, it seemed the logical thing to do. -- I love this episode!

  • Spock is hot!

  • 11:06 mccoy : A TEDDY BEAR????!!!!! XD

  • @sebringf1 In other words its like Christmas+New Years came early for mccoy

  • The Vulcan Point of View and their Hidden Emotions are on display here. We see how Vulcans were once highly Emotional and more Violent that anyone knew. They are Romulans Under Control. We learn that Commander Spock's Father is a Vulcan Master. We learn Spock was one tough kid in his youth. We see Spock's' Father really Loves his Wife. Vulcan Self Discipline is Staggering here.

The Vulcans are Mysterious,Secretive,Introverted and capable of much more than they let on to be. Very human.

  • bones' expression when amanda says "a fat teddy bear"!! LOL i love you bones and spocky!!! <3 <3 <3

  • This is one of favorite episodes! I still say they should have continued the series no matter how low the ratings were!

  • "A Fat Teddy Bear..." Lolz

  • Damnit Jim im a doctor not a space dude.

  • MY comment is so TRUE cause SHATNER was so DREAMY with those brown eyes! OMG why isn't he my age I would totally marry him!

  • @Kittiesrway2cute

So, true, hon, but he has hazel eyes :)

  • @annathefootdoc either way he still bats those long EYELASHES! So DREAMY!

  • Comment removed

  • Kirk is so dreamy in this episode I wish Shatner was my age and then we would have a family and name our first boy Kirk! SHATNER you were so freakin hot!!!!

  • It's funny that these phone commercials are so well made (visually), yet do nothing to really make you even notice the phone.

  • mccoy- " A TEDDY BEAR?!" LOL!

  • That Ms. Sarek surrrre gets around !

  • This whole cast rocks along with each and every one of the guest stars. None better in the entire history of television. Well, maybe M.A.S.H. It's a toss up... No. It's STAR TREK TOS ALL THE WAY!

  • Spock's dad is a total douche.

  • hahahah 'Well! Whaddya know... I finally got the last word'

  • I C BS.

  • That face Bones makes at 11:04 is the best. It's like the Grinch realizing his most fiendish plan yet.

  • They are my parents.

  • The end is amazing!

  • From 11:10 to about 11:18 you can briefly see the tape on the set floor for blocking out the scene. Also, at 31:38, the 3D chess board. I had never noticed it before!

  • @certron Interesting!

  • WASTE OF LIFETIME

  • @jabbawockeez1750 yes your comments here are an unnecessary waste of lifetime....

  • And Uhura's hair is EXTRA cool in this episode!

  • THE BEST SHOW EVER. Always a message; always dramatic; always humorous. And if our world could work on the message that is portrayed here-or even just our nation-there is no telling how great things could be.

  • @shelley9000

Yup, I've always thought that too about this show. But maybe the stories were getting old and maybe that is why it lasted only three years. But I never thought they were getting old; I don't know what else was on TV back then.

  • @shelley9000

are you joking, next generation was the best

  • @TENNSUMITSUMA

The ORIGINAL CAST TOS MOVIES were far far better than as a whole THE NEXT GENERATION MOVIES and the ever annoying Data!

  • @MissAdolphHitler1988

WHATEVEA LADY, whatevea data was the shit

  • @TENNSUMITSUMA the box office figues speak volumes, just the facts of success Data became too important to the detriment of the rest of the cast that was GREAT on tv you know?, there parts were made small, it was all just Picard and Data mostly in the next gen movies (yawn!), BUT I loved TNG on TELEVISION.

"Yesterdays Enterprise" was one of my faves for instance. peace

    Amy

  • #FTW

That's the reason why I RANDSET(use|started using|depend on|go with|go to|head over to)# stream episodes [dot] net instead in order to enjoy all the tv shows and movies that youtube doesn't have

    Journey to Babel

    That is the SPACE

    between Human ears ......

  • 1:25 wtf?

  • Damn, I wish they let our women wear skirts like that at west point. That nurse is kinda...cheeky.

  • how does that vulcan sign go?

  • @hahanikka

You haven't seen awful until you've tried to watch Lost in Space. Now there was an awful series.

  • @JFinSD2 i was joking really my favorite sci fi series ever is DR. WHO the old ones

  • I very much enjoyed watching that in HD..So much so..I waited till the ending before going on a beer run...

  • Classic!

  • I love this show. I'll admit, the special effects aren't brilliant, but the acting is usually quite good.

  • ayo how in thee world do youhh upoad videos this long!!?!?!?

    ~thajerk

  • Classic.

  • I love these TV shows !!!

    ROCK N ROLL

    PROJECT SEO

  • cool

  • She's ordered about like a slave and says Vulcan "is better than our way".

  • Odd Kirk wouldn't know that Spock is the son of Saarik! Even if Spock didn't tell him, it should be info revealed in his records.

  • @diddymuck I thought that was strange also...

  • 41:17 Did you catch Dr. McCoy's cig burning? He was a notorious chain smoker. (So they say...)

  • I think you mean they now are more human. Humanizing the Vulcans is a problem the modern writers can't seem to stop doing. Vulcans just like humans are just more characters for the soap opera/saga that Trek has become.

  • OWW!! Your dad's cold, Spock. In the alternate universe ceated in the new Star Trek Movie Spock's dad is a little kinder to Spock towards the end. Kindness being a relative term, of course.

  • Best....ending......EVER!!!

  • Tzechov cut his hair

  • Actually the wig itched like hell, so he tossed it. lol.

  • :original: Namaste :wub2: Constitutional :wink2: Responsible :wub2: Freedom :original:

  • We the People of Earth have before us the opportunity to forge for ourselves, and for future generations...a True World Order. A world where Namaste Constitutional Responsible Freedom...not the Old World Disorder Demonic Theocracy...governs the conduct of nations. When we are successful...and we will be...we have a real chance at this True World Order...an order in which a credible United Nations can use Namaste Constitutional Responsible Freedom to fulfill the promise and vision of All Races.

  • I want to know just what "that old portable cardio stimulator" really was. Looks like a stapler??

  • HAHAHA!!! I love this episode!!!

  • Absolutely love McCoy's face when he hears that Spock had a 'eddy bear'. <3 That was one of the best moments. :D:D:D:D

  • How does that Vulcan salute go?

    -uses fingers to do it-

That hurts worse than the uniform.

So true, Doc, so true. I can do it with one hand alright, but the other... pshh. It hurts.

  • best star trek ending ever?

  • their special effects are getting better than they were before

  • so if my understanding of Vulcans is correct, in Sareks mind. Spock has disgraced him by choosing Starfleet over Vulcan which he sees as being illogic? Gotta give props to spocks mom though i cant imagine living by logic and no emotion.

  • "Disgrace is a human emotion." No, they had a disagreement over the logical choice for Spock. Sarek thought Spock should stay at Vulcan, taking advantage of their exceptional education system. Spock thought it would be best to become a science officer, where he could personally experience these things, because a butterfly is really quite different from its picture.

  • Sarek was fine! 4:35 him walking the corridors, tall, with that broad chest, and solid build. His voice was a nice bass and looks that would make you loose your religion! I would have chosen him over Spock any day! But then again..maybe Spock got his good looks from him!

  • I just read about Mark Lenard (Sarek). He was only 5 years older than Leonard Nimoy. He wasa paratrooper during WWII. Could explain why he carried himself the way he did.

  • I laughed a lot through this one. Lots of funny stuff concerning McCoy and Spock, my two faves. I luff this episode.

  • Good Timing Kirk!
