Actually, I found mine on Craigslist for $80. You can find a lot of great deals on these things online, and wintertime is the perfect time to go about getting one, if you live in a city that drops in temperature or snows. New can be expensive, but they're usually really nice.
Made by Profile Design, it's the Air Wing bullhorn handlebar series. I prefer these greatly to the standard drop handlebars, but tradition will always carry on further. These are just a lot more comfortable for my ride. You can easily make your own bullhorns by cutting a pair of drop bars.
To the best of my understanding, you can't even skid stop on a roller. The resistance is different from that of riding on the road, so it's much easier to slow down your pedaling to a stop. It takes practice enough just to stand on a roller and ride it!
If you really give yourself about fifteen minutes of practice, you can have it down. You're going to fall, especially if you think you're going to fall, but when you relax and just focus ahead of yourself and not on the front wheel, you get it down. I still have to work on balance, but it's easier than I when I started. Hope I helped.

Not really a question about the rollers, but what kind of handlebars do you have?

looks hard, I've always wondered how rollers work. How long did it take you to get the hang of it?
