we definitely didn't wear our blusher on the apples of our cheeks - it would have been in the hollows of our cheeks only pretty much. i know you said it was an 80s inspired look but i just thought i'd point that out :) it's true that i wore a LOT of make up! i loved those days *sigh* i think i still have an original 80s no. 7 lipstick somewhere.
