  • Who needs heaven when you have this?

  • @Gemberaapje I second the motion!

  • @Gemberaapje amen to that

  • srdce mi usedá ...

  • @pergolesi3 - Hmm. Of course, it sounds nice, as it is Vide Cor Meum performed by the same composer, orchestra, lead soprano, and lead tenor. However, this version is recorded faster and brighter than most other versions that I've heard on YouTube. As such, this version loses a significant amount of emotion compared to the others. The tempo and tone of the others is much more grave (pronounced [grah-vey]) evoking a much deeper and more solemn emotion. Compare to: /watch?v=KN5AG14x8mQ

  • alli donde mora el recuerdo de los mas queridos, alli escuchan esta obra

    grandilocuente, hermosa, paciente, dulce.

  • This song soars with the passion and sadness of all the worlds lost and unrequited love.

It makes me cry every time I listen to it.

  • It is not exactly latin, but a Tuscany dialect , with some latin sentences interspersed in it. Dante actually selected that primitive italian language to write this piece.

  • @logica10 Thanks for the info, I have ammended it accordingly.

  • @pergolesi3 it's so sweet... thank you

  • @pergolesi3 it's so sweet... thank you

  • @logica10

    very good

  • @logica10 Dante wrote in his own Italian dialect (Florentine) with minor Sicilian and Occitan features. Italian (a term which wasn't used back then to name any language) would be later standarize on that Florentine. So this song is just in Italian. Due to the fact that the linguistic line started by Dante have had an autonomous literary evolution, namely the standardization of Italian, whereas the spoken Tuscan dialects evolved separately, it's correct to say that Dante's language is Italian.

  • pure music

  • this song gives me goosebumps... everytime hear it i forget my problems

  • and maybe sometimes something that humans do could make the angels smile on us. if this isn't it ,i can't imagine what could. heavenly .

  • i fell deeply in love with this song while watching 'Hannibal' and it's been played regularly ever since. sometimes, i even put it on repeat b4 i sleep :D

  • @Varsung exactly the same experience! it is beauitful

  • Profoundly moving, just so effortlessly beautiful.

Anyone who remains emotionally untouched by this masterpiece must surely have a heart of stone.

  • WOW! GORGEOUS !!!

  • beautiful ... this is true love ...

  • The song's lyrycs are not entirely in latin, actually the only latin lines are "ego dominus tuus; vide cor tuum; vide cor meum; cor tuum; cor meum" the rest is italian.

  • Wow...

  • it's my life

  • Incredibly beautiful music

  • Incredibly beautiful music.

  • outstanding, wonderful

  • Thank you for this! You've got all the information about the piece-that's the way it should be done.

This music is proof that modern composers can create beautiful music, why then, do so many of them choose to come up with discordant work? With the exception of film, we are in an ugly age.
