  • A peterson is only a finish, not an actual roll. and you need a leg and a wrist. The second move is a graby.

  • I love it when people try to gramby on me. Everytime I'm on top I always lock one of their legs and they pretty much pin themselves.

  • these were nice! I'm doing my first year of wrestling and i'm trying to learn the basics before the season comes up! These moves are similar to Jiu Jitsu

  • lost my match today for a medal or no medal because my coach put me on bottom when i wanted top, bottom sucks tops so much better. he said theres an advantage for being on bottom, i see no advantage whatsoever

  • @aircraftalex97 for most people its easier on bottom because all you have to do is stand up, so its easier to get a point.

  • @aircraftalex97 well bottom is useful if you need points because you can get an escape or reversal which is easier than back points right away in most situations.

  • @aircraftalex97 DUDE ME TOO!!!!!!! yesterday at a preseason tournament my co coach( my real coach couldnt show up) put me on bottom AFTER I had just taken down the kid and was working on top so i was winning , i mean even if the kid escaped i could have taken him down again, especially since it was blocked weight and i weighed in at 114 and he was 118 but still it fucking sucked being on bottom and i ended up gettin chicken winged. Bottom line get better at bottom and fight for what you want.

  • @aircraftalex97 the advantage is that you can go for a reversal, or an escape. there is also pinning moves from bottom.

  • @aircraftalex97 dude coaches like bottom because , if you are good enough(not an insult towards you so don't while out) you can get 1 escape point then two for a take down and then gain control and try to pin or get some back points . more points equals adavantage man.

  • @aircraftalex97 its common knowledge to always choose bottom. if u choose top u usually have to be a powerhouse

  • @aircraftalex97 Well Aircraft, There are a few situations in which bottom is better. If the score is 10-9 and your losing, bottom may be better. You can get an escape for 1 pt to tie it, or get a reversal for 2 pts and get ahead. If you're winning, go top at any time and just ride your man out. I see its 1 year ago so I assume you've learned better, but just incase you haven't. :)

  • @aircraftalex97 i agree that top is better to but my coach says the reason they put us on bottom is to get an escape point but you are right about top being better

  • @aircraftalex97 LOL all new inexperienced wrestlers incorrectly believe this. The reason the bottom man has the advantage is that there is two ways to score (escape or reversal) and BOTH of them are easier than the only ONE way to score on top (nearfall). Plus it takes more work to ride on top than it does to stay off your back on bottom, so you'll use less energy on bottom. Lastly, it sometimes is easier to get someone on their back from bottom than from top as well if you know the right moves.

  • The second Move I am not going to try, because there is a strong chance my back is going to touch the floor and I will get out.

  • theres good reason for not learning that granby when you were in highschool, it's definitely not a "basic" move as said here. it's excuted by elite level wrestlers only in few positions. I use it quite frequently myself, only because i practice it so much i know where to react if i hit it wrong. good move but not one to teach beginners.

  • @deathdrone82 that is one of the easier wrestling moves to perform i've seen a 285 pounder do the same exact move just as fast and he wasnt 285 because of muscle.

    Yep I live in Pennsylvania and Our high-school has the toughest practice in the region

  • This is the first year my school has had a wrestling team. There is about 15 of us so far. I am the only senior and the only girl on the team. I'm 5'6 150 pounds. We started practice about 3 weeks ago and so far we are doing pretty good. Our conditioning is pretty intense. I always thought track practice was hard, but track doesn't even compare to wrestling! Our first match is December 8th

  • no, im a sophomore and this is my first year im gunna do wreastling...just watch how your friends wrestle or videos on youtube and youll be ready by basics...and the rest will come to you...thats what my friend told me and he is really good at wrestling....im 135...i think i want to drop down to 125

  • instead of pushing up, you can just as easily do a knee slide to get your hips under you...
