How did you cut the slate to be that thin or did you buy it that thin? I tried getting some slate from Home Depot but they are all too large and thick to be used in my aquarium. Did you glue the slate pieces together?
very nice tank, are you using egg crate under them slates? or are they just on top of the gravel, i have sand in my aquarium and i want slate but im scared of breaking the glass at the bottom.

I purchased the slate from a local aquarium place. They are stacked on each other not glued.

I was not using eggcrate at the time when this tank was setup. You can use slate as long as you distribute the weight evenly.

You'll need to vent them to be sure of their sex.

either one of my zebras,a kenyi or an assorted cichlid is the biggest in my tank.
the acei are the smallest lol
the acei seem to be schooling fish to me cause the darker acei ALWAYS follows the less darker one lol

This is a 29 gallon. Just setup a new 55 gallon which is still cycling. Should have some new videos of it uploaded soon. :)
