White privelege: I don't think that means what you think it means. It's not about feeling guilty, or hating one's whiteness. It's about being aware of it so that you can call out things like systemic racism (which often create white privilege) or systemic sexism (which often create male or female privilege, depending on the situation), rather than calling a POC lazy for not succeeding to the same extent as a white counterpart. Privilege isn't anyone's fault. Pretending it doesn't exist is.

Nazi Germany and the USSR certainly add to the body count as do the genocides in Africa, Armenia and Cambodia. Anyway, to reiterate: this video is not about white guilt or giving up privilege, it's about all of us, of any color, gender, sexuality, body-type, being aware of our privileges in different facets of our lives.
The discussion of white privilige is one worth having. However, this list and this approach is entirely specious and self-validating. Self-reporting is of course a bad way to validate any data, but besides this, the questions beggar the answer in their context and form. If the topic is that of race, and we do live in a racial atmosphere, adding the appendmant "due to/because of my race" implies the "correct" answer.

Also, some of the privileges she lists in there have to do with education, class, and heteronormativity. The issue of race is more prominent because it was the realization that many Black women were being treated by their supposedly feminist white counterparts.

White privelege: I don't think that means what you think it means. It's not about feeling guilty, or hating one's whiteness. It's about being aware of it so that you can call out things like systemic racism (which often create white privilege) or systemic sexism (which often create male or female privilege, depending on the situation), rather than calling a POC lazy for not succeeding to the same extent as a white counterpart. Privilege isn't anyone's fault. Pretending it doesn't exist is.

Nazi Germany and the USSR certainly add to the body count as do the genocides in Africa, Armenia and Cambodia. I think this concept is very ahead of its time, especiallyfor being made in the late 80s.
I think it has a lot to do with social self-awareness, and, hopefully, we all know that being self-aware is the key to changing ourselves and our culture. Whites are in the dominant position in our world in the big picture, therefore there are many experiences they do not live through. I dont blame whites for my short comings -because I have very few. Im doing what I want for the most part. Ive moved into an affluent neighborhood OUTSIDE of the united states, I have an excellent job, I have my wife & I'm working on some babies. I just know that there are circumstances that black people face who dont get the same treatment as those who are white. Asians come from a culture which allowed to assimilate better into american culture. Secondly Asians CHOSE to immigrate to America they also get to pick their names once they become citizens etc. Erstwhile black folks didnt get squat but a life time of picking cotton under the southern sun. Two very different creatures. There is however the matter of sheer numbers. Asians are less than 5% of the population so they are damn near invisible to boot. So there you have it.

Where Asians come from are also successful, why is it that where blacks come from are so terrible. ie Haiti, Africa...
Also in every multi racial society blacks live in they are invariably at the bottom.
You can continue to live in fantasy world, blaming whites for black people inability to develop or even sustain a modern society. Or perform at anywhere near the mean in multi-racial societies.

White america doesnt see Asians as a threat so much as they saw Africans as a threat for one. Africans did not Westernize their culture like the Europeans did & like the Asians did. They chose to live a certain simple life style that had worked quite well for them over the last 40k years or so. We come from a very different culture which isnt worse just different. See thats half your problem-you think because things are different that they are inferior-if they dont make sense to you. Wake up.

I find it funny that you think white people view blacks as a threat, Asians are the only real threat to our race. Whites could easily eliminate blacks from the face of the planet if they wanted to, and you know that is true.

this is absolute bullshit. please find some clear evidence, and then we'll talk. blacks are PERSECUTED more often for crime, and most often they are petty drug or driving "crimes."
