  • What album is this on?

  • @bill86697 Grow Fins (disc i)

  • This blows away the Safe As Milk version. Thanks for posting this!

  • Damn Don. This is Beautiful man! Please share this everybody! This is so great. Why am I just hearing this now? Beefheart so diverse.

  • Damn Don. This is Beautiful man! Please share this everybody!

  • Prefer this to finished version on Safe as Milk- Reckon this vocal's better- more relaxed- more feeling

  • I never heard anything by the Capt, but I just seen in the news that he had died. This is the first thing I heard from him and it is really nice. This is something that I would have listenend to - I dunno how I missed hearing anything from him. I'm gonna go and listen to some more - RIP Captain.

  • @2JAMMY Thanks- Hope you like the other stuff- Much of it is challenging listening for those who aren't already fans- Collectively- he has many fans all over the world- over generations- very loyal- He was unimpressed by mainstream success- The artistic autonomy he somehow achieved is a greater achievement than ordinary success- How he got his stuff past the record bosses- must be an interesting tale- Great intelligence and integrity- Huge unique personality- is how I remember CB

  • rip uber beefheart

  • that is a great song... period.

  • Incredible. Actually better than the Safe as Milk version.

  • @mannacler 100% agree, first time I have heard this version

  • probably owes alot to ry cooder but the captain voice on this song is huge, and the lyrics are really touching in a pop way and express a genuine emotion also i like the solo guitar bits on the middle 8 on the actual album version, Fm...... D....... A G# G Fm

  • subliminalelicious. love is too easy to say but once in a life you can feel a person who knows and can help you to show how you want to be seen. less than and more than a god. sweeter and deeper than any dream.

  • Gorgeous- I think some record bosses in the early days must've seen commercial potential in the Capt and would've wanted to clip his creative wings. Maybe he could've made it as a white soul singer going by this one- but I'm just glad he made it as The Captain- and that now he's gone on to other things that give him deeper joy as a painter- he kind of started out with art as a child

  • @keltyk Well that's Don passed away--- I was feeling really sad and I thought this song could bring out my grief in a nice way--- So here I am--- feeling it with tears---

  • Killer vocal treatment! Thanks!
