I used to go to school with the bassist's girlfriend (1990-91, broadcasting school in Minneapolis)..She moved on from there to DJ at KQRS 92FM in Minneapolis/St. Paul. I first saw The suburbs live at a park behind Galtier Plaza back in the 80's. I was hooked ever since, & still love their music. Minnesota Music...we're still on the map ^_^
i saw them in a little community center in Salt Lake city. They rocked!!! Bought one album, and never heard about them again. Too bad. Did any of them move into other bands?
The best times were seein them perform in 'biker' bars and 'dives' around Twin Cities ('79-'83ish). Drunk, macho rockers w mustaches would think they were just a Flock of Seagulls cover band, until they blew the roof off from the get go. Insanely loud, sweaty mayham every weekend! The Suburbs always rocked !!!!! The Replacements warmed up for 'em alot, too.

Nah, don't think so. I've still seen them do concerts recently. they performed at the MN State Fair a few years ago, opening for the B-52's.
