@EllTeeTwoThree After Emperor they were probably one of the first to mix symphonic elements into black metal properly...but I guess they and dimmu were doing it around the same time, so would have been those who came after, like cradle of filth, who would have been influenced by them...I love how 'baroque' some of sigh's work sounds though, like the end of this track and some of infidel art...really sets them apart from other symphonic BM
@DeathTorturePain According to Mirai Varg Vikernes wrote to him telling him to burn down the churches in Japan, or so I read in a Metal Hammer interview once...

..... this is very bad. the hole song... sounds like shit. a racoon getting hit by a truck sounds better. no offence to people who like it tho, its only an opinion.
@GK4NTK since black and death metal strives to sound like dead and dying creatures.... i think ur comment is more of a complement to Sigh! so i'll vote it up:) (note: this is how its supposed to sound)
what do you mean what's up? Japanese black metal! Sigh keep a good (post) black metal image, without being cliched or dressing over-the-top like many other black metal bands, such as mayhem or immortal.
Hmmm...I suppose you're a hardcore black metal fan who'll always prefer the old sigh, right? This is good, But I think their best songs are on hail horror hail and imaginary sonicscape. But that's just preference - I love all of sigh's material - they're a very consistent band. Consistently good I mean - at the same time as trying something different on each album, which not many bands succeed in doing.
OK, sorry, I take that back. But really, although this sounds good, you can't ignore great albums such as hail horror hail or imaginary sonicscape. more imaginative than this, I would say.
i didnt like the imaginary sonicscape much...my fav sigh albums are #1gallows gallery, then infidel art, scorn defeat, hail horror hail, then hangman's hymn (the las t 4 tracks) then ghastly funeral theater... strangely enough i didnt like the rest i thought it got too weird... but its just my opinion.. i like sigh bcause i like japanese music and b.metal.... and sigh combines the 2 together nicely for me... but in terms of black metal's grim, raw trashiness...this album does that best....
Mirai is bar none one of the best female vocalists in extreme vocalists, not including the ladies of Ashes you Leave and The 3rd and the Mortal.

Wow, I love that he has a katana on the album cover. That like, perfectly sums up what I'd want out of Japanese DM. Brutal!
Reminds me of Dimmu Borgir, with the keys, etc. I would bet this band influenced many who came after!
