  • $99.99 for this peice of shit

  • i LOVE this vid! very artistic, great job! :D i cant wait to get my typerwitter!

  • what camera techniques did yuo play with there exactly?

  • @MrHopeTelevision he used a lot of jump cuts and the close up of a typewriter typing something like in Schindler's list, and Citizen Kane. He also had a pretty cool opening title, and when referring to the colors, he probably digitally played around with the colors on some editing software, maybe saturating them, or increasing contrast. Hard to tell without seeing the original shots.

  • @drummerjoe2610 oh yes, he's good for youtube

  • hey is it true they dont sell ribbons for some typewriters anymore?

  • funny video,

honestly, the only reason i watched it was to show my daughter what a typewriter is (was).

    good job!

  • you are amazing ,the job is well done

  • Typewriters prove to be a great bargain considering that they fell out of mainstream use around 1990, which is far enough in the past to be considered with vintage/nostalgic appeal.

  • iron n wine hipster trash

    keep writing tho bro

  • i think this song is so cool

  • I like it. Great video :-)

  • Postal Service...very appropriate music concidering. Not to be racist or wanything but it is a bit ironic that the video that led me here was a piece from the movie "NakedLunch" entitled "that chink shortchanged me". Just an observation...David Brown

  • In a retro-themed room, you can't go wrong without a typewriter; from the Victorian-era early models to the electronic models of the 1980s.

  • For some reason, that combination of music and video reminds me of two movies at the same time. "Juno", and "The Shining".

  • This is very much the Thom Browne show in Italy (or something, cannot remember the exact location) a few years ago.

  • typewriter is the longest word you can spell with the top row of letters on the keyboard

  • @fewguyswin do you think that was intentional or just a coincidence?

  • @wetbivybag I think it was intentional, so they could find out who is smart enough to find out about that.

  • @fewguyswin no it's not. it's: oiuewriowrqpeuropwiurwpeoiruqpwioeruerpqowur. It means the line of broken twigs in the jungle where a Uiourporpwuweq has ran through.

  • @wetbivybag o_o

  • @wetbivybag o_o

  • @wetbivybag I don't even know how to respond to that o_o

  • @fewguyswin I think you will find you are experiencing uieyryieoiruwioing. It's quite natural.

  • Hello, I've found out what your typewriter is :) It is an Underwood Golden-Touch, Deluxe model. From around the mid to late 1950's.

  • @plungerdrum Awesome!

  • typewriters. there is something about them that is fascinating. Goos short film. I absolutley love it!

  • That's pretty cool. Nice shots.

  • Very Wes Anderson. The close-up of your hands reminds me of "The Royal Tenenbaums."

  • i'm surprised that you're the first to refer me to wes!

  • Thanks for posting!! very unique BTW Im 20 and I learned to type by using a 1967 typewriter courtesy of my mom...i looking for one to keep in my apartment...there something cool about them lol

  • I definitely agree.

That's all I can say too.

    Perhaps beautiful, artistic, confusing, intriguing.

    Mostly: oddly captivating.

  • great vid :)

    i love my typewriter lolz

  • Fantastic video - what camera do you use?

  • Great job! Wich is the song playing in the movie?

    Thanks!

  • this made me have nightmares for some reason. no joke.

  • This is is very nice video. Great camera work and the song fits nicely with it. Only problem is the grammer.. ;)

It should be: "I am writing to you because I am resigning from your office."

The comma after [because] is not neccessarily wrong, but it isn't needed and looks better and reads better without it. Also, [a] and [m] should be together to form [am]. Why didn't you correct this typo? Or is it there as part of the video on purpose?

  • the reason for the grammar is cos i literally typed that paper while it came to my head while filming it. the "a m" is there cos the typewriter often adds a space after typing "a", and i didn't bother. change it cos i really didn't expect this video to get any attention at all. it was something i made spur of the moment. but thanks for the attention to detail!

  • Is it a joke that you misspelled "grammer"?

  • You know, this really inspired me. I got a sense of who the character was - his feelings and what had happened to him or is going to happen to him. Beautiful.

The whole thing had a very melancholy/final feeling to it...thanks for sharing!

  • Oddly captivating. I watched it thrice.

  • my great-great-great-great-grandfather invented the typewriter. his name is christopher laythem sholes

  • thanks christpher reletive if typewriters never existed we never have computers and keyboard if there no were no computer and keyboard i would not be typing right now.

  • Very nice! Thanks!

  • very nice ..what camera did you use by the way?

  • a very old sony hi8 camera, but it's not about the camera!

  • nice!

  • Great clip! It´s like the intro of a good movie. Nice Work!

  • Absolutely! I'm all set up now, I demand you use that typewriter of yours to write the screenplay, and film the rest of this movie. :) It's so professional yet indie, I almost can't believe it's not the opening scene of a cult indie classic. Amazing work.

But seriously: the world needs to see the feature-length movie you no doubt have in you. :)

  • holy crap u found a typwriter for 15 bucks u have to tell me where u got the inc ribbon i have a typwriter but not an ink ribbon for it and ive been dying to start writting stories again ive looked everywhere even wallmart and still couldnt find any

  • You can pick it up on Ebay :) I just bought two twin spools for 16 bucks :)

  • they have ink ribbons at your local office depot

  • Assuming your typewriter takes a standard 1/2 inch ribbon, they're easy to find -- wongsonny is right, check your local office supply store. If not, try ebay or other online stores.

  • Hi Wong, how did you shot the "from above" angles, did you use a tripod for the other angles?

  • hey this is really good work, great cinematography.

  • how strange i saw a typewriter at goodwill too that i want and its 15 bucks to

  • It was probably the same one.

  • That was very good.

  • In that comment you capture the essence of why a typewriter is in many ways superior to a computer...

  • Nice video

  • what kind of typewriter is that im trying to fnd a old typewriter from the late 1800s or early 1900s with that kind of text, like with ink smudges

  • I love it!
