  • i don't believe anyone actually thinks we came from a pond of sludge and actually morphed into different groups of "animals" and what-obviously someone doesn't know the entire story behind Darwins Theory and only emphasize on part of this so called "Evolution". So try reading the Word of God more and some History books and you'll see that those events, which were recorded, fall into place with what the bible says. PLAIN AND SIMPLE PEOPLE!

  • did we decent from ape like ancestors? Ofcourse we did.......... Are we still debating this?

  • everyone switch to daoism that is all

  • "A bitter debate is EVOLVING ........."

    lol

  • Scientific fact: Life comes from life.

  • @SummitCreative yes but where did that LIFE originate? you'll be stuck on that question just like the scientists with their "what came first the chicken or the egg?" question until you accept and realize that there has to be something,in my case someone, who is greater than this world in order to create it. Biblical fact: God is life.

  • @pochamo03 "yes but where did that LIFE originate?" Evolution has nothing to do with the origin of life. Just like a touchdown has nothing to do with baseball. Nor does football tell you how to hit a home run.

  • @pochamo03 The egg clearly came first seeing as the chicken evolved from egg laying reptiles!

The stupidity of creationists still amazes me!!

  • @maskofsan1ty yes and the contradictions of the theory of evolution amazes me!!!

  • @pochamo03 There may well be contradictions in 'The Theory of Evolution: Strawman Edition' yet the real thing is free from such things.

  • If you want to teach an opposing theory, maybe it should actually BE a theory.

Creationism is not a theory, it's not a hypothesis because you can't test it, it's barely even a coherent thought

  • Rofl.. Adam and Eve.. What a fucking joke.

  • and you believe what? that we have been evolving over millions of years into the humans we see today? youre the joke my friend.

  • it's called a theory for a reason.. because there is no solid proof. creation has always been the accepted as true, until darwin saw that a bird looked slightly different than another bird and decided that they must have evolved from nothing.. which as any any intelligent human can see is entirely impossible.

  • Ugh, it makes me sick when people misunderstand the word "theory."

Here's the correct definition: " the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another."

In case you can't understand this, it means a theory is when you take facts and use them to make a working idea. In science, a hypothesis is proposed first, which is a theory that has yet to be proven. Once the hypothesis has successfully been tested, it becomes a theory.

That is a theory. Next time, try using a dictionary.

  • In science a theory is the current best explanation for the observed facts. And evolution is both a theory and a fact in the sense that it has been directly observed, and theory in the sense that it is an explenation for the diversity of life.

    And evolution is not abiogenes.

  • Well, when it came out it was a theory. Today we have evidence that evolution exists. We see specially in bacterias but we also see it in larger animals in the wild that adapt in ever changing enviroments.

Or will you say that Einstein also was wrong? After all, the theory of relativety is maby called theory for a reason?

  • MY CHRISTIAN COMMENTS* 2KATIE & WORLD?*GOD REVEALED2ME*1970'S THE CREATION OF ALL THINGS CAN BE CHANGED BY THE WAY WE EAT? EVOLUTION IS ONLY POSSIBLE BY THE WAY WE EAT? THE HOLYBIBLE EXPLAINS HOW ALL THINGS WAS CREATED. THE ONLY WAY A PERSON CAN HAVE MONKEY GENES? OR PIG? OR COW GENES? IS ONLY BY THE WAY THEY EAT? IF*THEY EAT MONKEY MEAT?*THEY WILLhaveMONKEY DNA TRAITSorMONKEY CELLSorMONKEY OILS inTheBLOODLINE? THIS IS WHY WE SEE SO MANY DISEASES IN THE WORLD TODAY? EVEN HIV AND BIRTH DEFEATS.

  • This is hilarious

  • I thought this was going to be about the evolution of teaching, something worth far more thought than this actual topic.

  • I don't understand how, in this day in age anyone can believe such ridiculous rubbish. Adam and Eve? Crazy! Evolution and natural selection have been proven!

  • so you you think that we evolved over millions of years into humans? i dont dispute the obvious fact that evolution exists, but to think that it is the explanation for life on earth is absolutely preposterous. it is impossible for a monkey to become a human, end of story.

  • Why is it impossible?

  • Maybe we came here from another planet and domesticated it?

  • Well, maby.

But what I whant to know is why cjmythrandir can be so sure that its so impossible for an ape to evolve into humans?

And after he says "End of story" as if he just proven something... Well I just want tio know what that is.

  • well first of all, if you seriously want your name to be doggystylesex, you just lost about 50% percent credibility in my book.

    ....just wanted to say that.

and no i havent "proven" diddly squat. im stating a belief. thats all and yes i am sure that apes cannot evolve into humans. if we did , then there woul,d be hundreds of subspecies of humans. humans with deformities living amongst themselves. etc etc. i cant elaborate in less than 500 characters, so i wont try to.

  • First, its not my name. And it dosent strange me that you loose credibility in your book, catholics tend to judge more than god.

second, are we to listen to the bible? I dont argue the fact that there may be a god, but the bible as a reference to the age of the planet? No dinosaurs? No life on other planet? Burn gallileo? Auto de fe? Noas ark?

Old teachings, but still same book. Same ppl that judge (like you) on things because they just WANT it to be like that. Fuck proof, right?

  • ok idk how well you speak english, but i couldnt really tell what you meant in that first sentence...

anyways, no the bible isnt a reference to the age of the planet. God tells us that he has always been here, and that in the beginning the earth here as well. as i said the literal translation in hebrew says God "recreated" the world, implying that the world was here before God moulded it into the earth that we know today.

  • now as far as dinosaurs go, the Bible references them occasionally. but does God need to reference every single type of animal? does he ever mention sharks in the Bible? or Guinea pigs? just because it doesnt say "dinosaurs were created" doesnt mean God didnt create them...

and noah's ark, yes it occured. there is evidence of it in the soil formations everywhere. there is even a giant boat sitting on a mountain in turkey (sadly, turkish govt. wont let it be excavated ... yet) im out of comments

  • First, you said a comment about my name and how you judge me or what what Im about to say because of it.

Second. A person spoke about a theory that implies aliens. You dissmised that theory and found it ridicolus. Yet you have evidence about noas ark?

How about the "evidence" from the RAF? Is that suddenly not valid to consider?

If you dismiss science because of a belife. I accept that. But when you dissmiss something, do it with a valid point. Not because its "just ridicolus".

  • Btw, I dont think your belives are ridicolus. I just dont agree with them and for one would think it would be very interesting to study the formations in turkey.

Third: thankyou for your patience with my english.

  • Hey, my grandfather was a civil rights lawyer and he was Catholic. He did a lot of cases on women's rights, a few on gay rights and such. He was Catholic himself but him and my grandmother never forced their views on any one else. If the parents want to pull their kids from the class that day then they should because they have the right, but they can't teach what the bible says in school.

Many cultures have their own explanation on how the world came to be but I haven't seen any other group..

  • ... Demand that their version be taught in public schools. That is what they have Church and Sunday School for. I just graduated from a diverse school district and have a Pagan friend, a few Jewish friends, a friend who practices Shintoism, some Hindi friends, Muslim friends and so on. There were 800 kids in my graduating class and we all had to co-exist with each other. We managed pretty well.

  • you seriously believe that we came from another planet? .... im not even going to address that.

  • It's a theory just like adam eve is a theory.

  • a ridiculous theory in my mind , but yes, a theory nonetheless

  • gross over simplification. Take the time to educate yourself on the subject and you will see every aspect of evolution has been proven unequivocably.

  • as i said, further up in the post, i am not trying to disprove evolution as a proven scientific process. its true that it occurs. however, the belief that this is how the world before us came about is preposterous. let me explain in more detail. "in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. " thats the english translation. the hebrew word is actually something that means to "re-create" ,. implying that he reformed what already was. "the earth was formless", so He re-formed it.,

  • now , this could imply that the world may in fact be millions of years old. however, God may not have touched the world as we know it until ~6000 years ago,. noone can say for sure, but it is my belief that God created the world we live in, and that he created us with a purpose. i do not believe we came from a lower species, i believe we are made just as he wanted us.

now, whether or not you believe that, in the end we're all dead. does it seem rational that after this we just end?

  • lets say for instance that God isnt real , that we came from evolution, and there is no life after death. whatever we believe doesnt matter, right? there is no heaven or hell, we die, end of story .

but what if God is real, and he created us, and he has a plan for us, and wants us to live for His glory? what if that is the truth? what if you're wrong? ....

im not trying to convert you.... haha

im just trying to get you to think about your future . just look into it =)

  • @numberonejohnson I hear your frustration i just don't believe myself how we can simply ignore evolution and believe in something crazy like we were created from adam and eve.

  • this is pathetic

  • this whole supposed evolution/creation "dichotomy" is just retarded and lame. it's like the religious wants their doctrine shoved into our faces where ever we go. look, we got damn courses dedicated to your religions in the schools system so there you go. you don't see them trying to push the "alternative" which is atheism class.

  • Yeah, it's funny how when I was in high school, they made Evolution seem so "gee maybe it happened, maybe it didn't" because they didn't want to piss off religious parents. My real revelation came in College when ALL my professors were like "look we don't have to appease religious parents to keep our jobs here. Evolution has been 100% proven and is an absolute undisputed fact. So now let's get on with our lessons". There's not even a debate on the college level. Only on the high school level.

  • Good words.

But what the problem is that the lage number of ppl that dont go to collage keep objecting to the evolution. These are ppl that will never have another wiew than the school teachings.

Lets also keep in mind that the Pope did come out about a month ago and said that there is nothing wrong beliving in the Big Bang and still beliving in the God. And if there was a big bang, there is evolution.

  • the pope is an abomination in himself. catholicism itself is a direct rejection of God's command to never change the bible (catholic bibles are seperate from christian bibles) . and yet they pray to mary as if she were a god? and the saints? it gives christianity a bad name

and if the big bang occured, where did the matter come from? nothing ?

i suppose you want to make the argument "if matter came from God, where did God come from?"

he was, is, and will always be. that is how. faith

  • Good answer.

Its a good thing to have faith. If the belivinbg makes you a better person and gives you a more meaningfull life, it must be a good thing.

But its a belife. You belive in this. Its not proven so you have faith.

How come then that when this subject comes up, ppl get so defiensive?

So lets say just for the sake of it that the begining of man was not 100% exactly like ibn the bible... Maby it was a bit simlified when written?

    Does this crumble your faith?

  • I agree with Katie; creationism belongs in church...evolution in school.

  • If they don't stop then we maybe must begin teaching evolution in churches.
