I think the quality looks almost identical to Nvidia, as I played this game on just about every video card out there, in exception for the GTX 295, as dual cards have no positive effect on THIS game, whatsoever. I guess Stanknnewbie's settings are not setup correctly, what I'm referring to is the FPS in slight simulator or yes, perhaps the FRAPS as well. Thanks for sharing, hope to get one of these WHEN THEY ARE IN STOCK...lol

it looks better dan a normal ati card but it's not nvidia perfect? i think gtx 295 still gets better fps with fsx. I use the ati 4870 and thinking of getting a gtx 285

The newer and more advanced the cards become, the worse FSX performance becomes. I have to agree with Airportchris2 on this one. People should stop hunting for FSX performance and realize that the whole gaming engine of that game is broken.

whats up with your FPS? you got low FPS. is it your CPU? whats your CPU specs?

Core i7 920 overclocked to 4.1Ghz. It's more than enough, I think the problem is with Fraps. Lost about 15 fps when Fraps was recording. This loss in frames left me at 20 fps roughly.

It could be the fact that your case isn't cooled well enough. The Antec P180 does not ventilate very well.

@airplaneman121 yes for sure,fsx does not rely on gpu that much,unless your gaming higher than 1080p. its the cpu and ram

But when it comes to FSX, CPU is what you need to really work on, b/c FSX relies more on the CPU, than GPU, however it still does rely on it, just not as much as previous versions of Flight Simulator.

It was time for my GTX 280 to be relieved of duty. Had to see for myself what $399 could do for FSX. Not bad really, no regrets here!
