A great song, as were all of the early ones!! You would buy an album for a couple of hot hits and then listen all the way through as you were introduced to songs like this.
One of John's finest ..and like any true and honest genius he admitted he was writing this to do a little Smoky Robinson effect. Whatever he did .. just listen to his change of pace, voice and what a hummer too.
@HELTERFUCKINGSKELTER -You can't imagine how many times I've watched this. And to think you describe it as "a bit rough around the edges". it's just wonderful. Love it.
OH. MY. GOD. WHY??? Why are you so brilliantly talented??? Jesus, HFS... This video makes me MELT..and, was that a heart shape during the Italian video with John and Paul? Too, friggin' CUTE. I LOVE IT. I love every single delicious bit of it. You ROCK..BIG TIME. And any video that features my "best man" John in all his beautiful glory can't be beat. Please don't ever stop making these vids. This one vid alone made my day. <3
I've always wondered what George Martin thought when he heard this first? George was a composer-arranger-musician in his own right at the time but did this blow him away? Did it blow all his notions about 'pop' music out the window? Did he take John aside and say: 'This is not 'Pop' music, John' Methinks George bowed to John after he heard this for the first time. And dang and blast it but it's one (of only a few) Beatles song I can never master on the guitar! Love the video here.
HEY DOC, NOW THIS IS A SONG I'M NOT FAMILIAR WITH BUT YOU JUST MAKE IT MAGICAL WITH YOUR AWESOME SLIDES, AND WHERE YOU FIND THEM SLIDES IS A MYSTERY TO ME, WHO DO YOU KNOW THAT LETS YOU BEAT EVERY ONE TO THE PUNCH. THAT'S NOW ABOUT 7 VIDEOS THAT I'VE SEEN AND YOU JUST KNOCKED THE BALL OUT OF THE PARK ONCE AGAIN. THAT'S SEVEN FOR SEVEN, A PERFECT BATTING AVERAGE IN MY SCORE CARD, CONGRATULATIONS MR MVP!!!!
HFS your work is brilliant...Keep it up mate!!!!
