  • watada deserves praise for his decision. the one criticism i have of him is that he expressed a willingness to be sent to afghanistan. after all, what's the difference between being an instrument of american terrorism in iraq and being an instrument of american terrorism in afghanistan?

  • E. Watada was heavily influenced by his Dad Bob which is a shame. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

  • it is understandable why those J.A's from WW II resisted, but watada VOLUNTEERED for the military!(different war-different circumstances) now, the u.s goes to war and watada has 2nd thoughts! u should have thought of that before u volunteered u dumb ass! i guess u had second thoughts of whether all those perks of enlisting (g.i. bill, college $ etc.)was really worth it when your country called u on it! as a J.A. myself, i find your actions contemptible. u are an embarrassment and a traitor!

  • Listen about halfway through this clip to hear Lt. Watada's thoughtful remarks about not standing on the sideline if you believe something is wrong. He emerges as a remarkable young man.
