I ponder -- Canon T3i with Eye-Fi SDHC, my droid 3 phone and wireless hard drive in my backback, taking pictures outdoors. Sending pictures that I just took on droid 3 from wireless hard drive. Is it even possible?
I like the drive and think the technology is cool, but what about password protection? If it is being sold as sort of a router/wifi device, this means anyone near the device can attach and cause performance issues??? Just image another tech person like yourself in an airport seeing a GoFlex device near him/her. If Seagate makes it password protected, it will be a nice device.
hmmm interesting, but the fact that it doesn't "join" your existing network is a problem. It would be better if it would join your wifi OR be its own. that way you can actually browse for it with other devices in your network... like Scoble asked.
Maybe I'm being a bit pedantic but it seems incredibly bulky for a portable device. I know it is only first generation and it is going to come down in size eventually. In fact I can see the move in this direction contributing to the drive to miniaturise drives. I look forward to getting one when it is about a quarter of the size.
Sweet device ;) Thanks for the Upload Scobleizer. Did you notice the "The best of 2600" book on his desk ;) lol I can already see myself with this device. Justification is I am an Ace laboratory certified data recovery engineer i.e. I NEED it for my work research ;)
