  • dude get a good camera next time you can feel something is cool is that with a piece of shit video camera

  • this must be that hd stuff that people are talking about

  • I remember seeing that from Alcatraz that day. Great day to pick to san fran.

  • that was f&(^ing awsome

  • Maybe I'm wring but wasn't flying supersonic over populated areas banned in the 60's or 70's ?

  • @sdb87149 For airshows its not

  • Sexy sonic boom

  • That was suicidal!

  • nice hd quality

  • how did i end up here?

  • @samiamtamaal1 by clicking on the video... that's really the only way.

  • Incroyable...! et fantastique..! did you film it your self ?

  • You don't see that every day.

  • Was this recorded with a potato?

  • @dhillon7891 no a lemon

  • If I was in one of those boats i'd be pissed off.

  • Going faster then 700mph + 10ft off the surface of the water = Badass

  • dear santa....

  • im not appreciating. i was at cleveland airshow and missed that on camera. too busy watching the diamond dirty loop!

  • Yes!!! I love the Blues! GO NAVY! HOOYAH!

  • That made my weenie hard

  • @554687858 mine too

  • damn, that was fast, love that sound it makes

  • @milleralive You're right. But at least he's moving fast. I went to a local airshow a few yrs back & they had a Harrier jump jet doing a performance. It hovered above the runway for a couple mins & was the most ear drum breaking noise you can imagine. Nowadays when I goto a show I always carry earplugs. Sometimes my friends, who have never been before, laugh at me & I always tell them "Just wait until the low flybys & the Harrier comes out! You won't be laughing much longer." LOL

  • that's one of the loudest things you will ever hear in person

  • you can't do sonic booms or supersonic speeds near industrial places, homes, factories, etc. Or for the matter at most air shows.

  • Sounds like part of his a/c broke the sound barrier. The airflow around certain sections, like the wing tips, the canopy, can reach higher speeds than the rest of the airflow, since this is where the highest dynamic pressure occurs (and the lowest static). When only sections reach Mach 1, this is called Mcrit or Mach critical. I would guess his true air speed was right at or above Mcrit and thus a "mini" boom was created. If the relative wind had exceeded Mach 1, it would have been a huge boom.

  • @gtg938v BEST comment ever on this video!

  • Comment removed

  • @gtg938v that is an informed comment.....are rare find on youtube. i salute u sir.

  • @gtg938v uhhhh am i supposed to understand that?

  • @gtg938v thank god for Wikipedia aye

  • @examinationboard Thank god for Navy pilot training.

  • @gtg938v This is also called transonic.

  • @gtg938v nail on the head!

  • @gtg938v

looks like someone recently went through flight school....API yes???

  • @gtg938v WTF this is for fun not for a shool lesson!

  • @gtg938v another reason you are correct is because if you see the mach cone, it's only well organized at the winds and the tail, a true supersonic flyby the mach cone would start at the front and then appear behind the plane.

  • @gtg938v science is weird. how much more lies out there that we havent discovered?

  • @gtg938v That state is often refered to as transonic, the state in between subsonic and supersonic. It is responsible for destroying many of the first aircraft that tried to break the sound barrier.

  • And the Goverment wants us to believe a 767 can do that!

  • Actually the 'sonic boom' depends on the structure of the aircraft itself. In this case the F/A-18 was more than likely designed to have a low shockwave produced at sonic boom as you can clearly see. Also proof it breaks the sound barrier is the cloud of ice crystals forming around the rear of the fuselage. Nuff said noobs.

Plus they probably got express permission from the FAA.

  • @HarisonHopwood

I'd bet large amounts of cash he did NOT go supersonic. I've hear F-18's do it at sea and it's unmistakable. You can have the vapor clouds without the 'boom'.

  • @RetSquid I'm with you on this one. He definitely did NOT go supersonic. A sonic boom would be a pretty bad idea this close to people/land.

  • sick sick sick sick sick sick

  • wow, I'm sure the fish appreciated that. WTF, who still get's off on this stuff?

  • @nekopheliac Shut up, pussy

  • Respect!

  • Sonic Boom

  • boo!it can't beat the f-14 and f-15!

  • @Leeanmarjon F14 yes, F-15 no

  • Thumbs UP!

  • He's way too low to go supersonic. The cloud around it is water drawn by the ripple created as the plane streaks through the air.

  • @MoonshadowRogue And thats what happens when you break the Sound barrier

  • @resqme1000 to brea the sound barrier there must be sonic boom, which there wasn't

  • @Wellfan2K7 sonic boom? lol some people are realy stupid on youtube

  • @Wellfan2K7 um ya but he did break the sound barrier its not a huge freaking boom its a whipping sound followed by a low toned boom he did break it, if you can hear it

  • @theeifyo Actually it is against FAA regulations to break the sound barrier in civilian airspace. Thanks for coming out champ.

  • That is so badass!!!

  • He wasn't supersonic, but was probably around 700mph. We would have heard the sonic boom

  • Yes it is,going Mach 1 .This wasn't

    That fast.

  • The sound it makes as it banks is incredible.

  • Wait wait wait he broke the sound barrier right? Well i'd love to see it myslef but holly shit mind your ears if you're in one of those small boats right next to it...

  • i dont think he hit supersonic. he was close though. we didnt here the boom. but the video is awsome

  • I would absolutely love to see that in person.

  • Was it just me or was he going supersonic??? it looked like the cloud was forming around the plane while he was flyin through there. holy fuckin shit!

  • .he just broke the sound barrier

  • yeah but they work for the gov....if we pass somebody goin 60 in our car we get pulled over and get a ticket....

  • rofl

    yeah ahhahahha

  • isnt it illegal to do that.

    >:-]

  • Yeah there is about 100ft requirement for these guys

  • Damn dude I've never seen so many regulations broken at once

  • :-(

  • Incredible and Awesome...

  • looks great!

  • OOMMMMMMMMFGGGGGGGGGGGGG

  • wowowow!! I get the goosebumps!

  • Sick :) Respect!

  • the pilot looks and holy joly and pulls up hard to slow down.

a litlle bit faster and boooooom.

  • maybe the speed is mach 0.9 or 1100 kmh

  • i got to meet that pilot i asked dude whats it like to fly that fast they seem to dont feel it

  • Oh my god!!

The pilot is very crazy and a little stupid!!

  • that shit's INSANE!!

  • Super impressive stuff!

  • OMG!

  • it was subsonic.. that was just the water coming up because of the air pushing off the plane

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • whao i think that he was breaking the speed of sound just as he was passing by....you can see it by the round cloud near his engines

  • No sonic boom- he was under the speed of sound.

  • that dont mean anything. there was no audible evidence of exceeding the speed of sound.

    so it wasnt supersonic.

  • I worked at 1 Embarcadero in the early 90's, and could artch the Angels play from my 10th story office window. They were awesome to watch.

  • Way cool

  • Testa di cazzo!!!

  • The BEST OF the WORLD;

    ***TURKISH STARS***"

  • Comment removed

  • cool

  • just another day in the office for those guys

  • thats awesome

  • i got a complete different info to that video...strange

  • cool. Now thats a job i could handle!!

  • definition of hauling ass

  • XD ya i bet that was 800 or more and he MUST be def

  • In the United States there is legislation that prohibits supersonic overflights unless deemed necessary. This is a show so there is no way they are allowed to go fast enough to break the sound barrier.

  • To adhesiveputty's (?) comment:

so that sonic compression wave was painted in? No. Ummm... The military, especially when putting on a show, is very highly regarded by every lawmaker, and thus, certain points are overlooked.

BTW- the FAA reg specifies over land. (or it used to). and the Navy is not bound by FAA regs when it does not want to be. Ask any controller.

I've _seen_ jets on the controller's radar zipping in at 400 knots below 10000 MSL, (the limit is 250 for us civilians :-( )

  • @xyaqua For all the wikipedia articles you looked up to try and make a smart looking point, you should have read up on what that wave is. Its NOT a "supersonic magic cone". Its condensation of water that appears as the plane APPROACHES the speed of sound. I.E. THE PLANE IS AT MACH .99 <- HINT AT THE ANSWER! The cone means nothing more than its humid and the plane is quite CLOSE but not exceeding the speed of sound. Go on back to watching looney toons and your cheerios.

  • How many low altitude passes have you seen where the speed of sound was broken? I've seen several, and the cone does can appear after mach 1. Buy you are right, it certainly can appear prior to mach 1. Sorry that have pooh-poohed the comment.

But i am correct about the military getting away with breaking mach 1 regularly over us land.

This i know from first hand experience.

  • OOOPP there goes the sound barrier =P

  • video quailty sucks

  • Really nice videos you have, let me tell ya LOL.

  • Get up you mongrel, bet you thats fuel injected

  • cool

  • I saw them at the CNE too, but I think the Snowbirds are more "graceful". The Blue Angels, with their F-18s have more intensity and power, but the Snowbirds seem to take better advantage of what their planes can do (they almost seem more "artistic" if that makes any sense). I also found the head on "chicken" passes more exciting and gripping with the Snowbirds than with the Blue Angels.

  • I know watch you mean. But for what your describing, nobody compares to the Red Arrows.

  • I saw them in Toronto this weekend and even being a Proud Canadian they dominated our skies....Simply The Best

  • hope they go all balls out in Toronto this weekend

  • Ok retards. No, they did not break the speed of sound. There was no sonic boom, which is pretty obvious. Yes, military aircraft can, and do break the speed of sound in the contiguous United States because they have a waiver to do so. I have personally witnessed the Blue Angels break the sound barrier during one of their demonstrations. Research before you post.

  • "contiguous United States" Huh?

"they have a waiver to do so" Huh?

The only retard I see posting here is you, buy a dictionary

  • Contiguous means together, pieces forming a whole. There's nothing wrong with his statement.

Waiver obviously they need some sort of documentation stating they were allowed to break the sound barrier in a certain state or territory.

You should probably read that dictionary before telling people to use one.

  • "There's nothing wrong with his statement."

There is when referring to a country

As for the waiver, that is so god damn stupid it's not worth commenting on

  • wah wah!? You're an idiot and you should learn to use a dictionary. Hence my thumbs up I'm sure I'm doing pretty good.

  • You are the one who needs to learn to use a dictionary retard

  • Retards????? Ok Fucktard.

  • If it were a sonic boom you would have heard a explosion like sound windows and mirriors would have gotten broke. On top of that they can't do that near civilians.

  • i love that clip - smokin' fast!! woo-hoo!

  • Thats gotta be the BEST job in the world!!!

  • OK I just posted the Video from 05 and 07

Just to show you your video is from 05 wich makes me very curious as to who really shot your video

  • Woot Woot!!

  • Everyone stop saying they broke the speed of sound! They didnt! Its ILLEGAL! It can only be done in special restricted areas OR 30 miles off the coast. (over open ocean.)

  • It was flirting with the sound barrier though.

  • Tooo cool :D

  • go NAVY!

  • SONIC BEWM

  • he broke the sound barrier :O

  • Almost, he's just making pressure waves, he was about to break it though.

  • OOH YEAH BABY!!! KEEP IT UP

    BLUE ANGELS!!!!

US Navy Blue Angels beat USAF Thunderbirds!!!!!! hahah (thunderbirds, not bad but i like Blue Angels more ;)

  • go maith!!

  • San Francisco does not want the military anywhere in their city. They want to cancel Fleet Week. I say leave the San Francisco Liberal swines alone. NO more Federal funding, no more state funding, let them rot.

  • that's so flippin cool!

  • omg the blue angles are sopposed to fly around my town today cant wait.......... wow i just saw one =)

  • Der typ is ja tiefer übers wasser geflogen alsn bisschen schlangenscheisse ;) Guter Pilot

  • Again the Caption states,"San Francisco Fleet Week October 2007" with no reference to 2005 or that it was uploaded in 2007 and shot in 2005. I don't really care but since you answered my comment with such impunity. I just thought I would point the facts out.

Read your own caption. Did you shoot this?

  • excellent.....but the red arrows are still the best!!!!!

  • Your footage is from the 2005 Show.

It's Great! but not the 2007 Show

  • it was added in 2007 it does not say it shot in 2007

  • ponchoalonso14 is quite wrong about the cloud. It's there and it is also true, the was picking up vapors from the Bay.

  • good pilot

  • cool

  • crap how did man create THAT!!

  • im rating and appreciating this video owns and thats so cool!

  • whouuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • Tight.

    USA 4 life.

  • i can watch that all day

  • bad ass

  • AHHH thats sounded wicked!!! i love it!

  • jesus :O

    fecking awesome!!

  • He never broke the sound barrier...he was VERY close. You can see the "halo" affect from him approaching the speed of sound. A aircraft will break the speed of sound when it moves past the rear of the plane. You can see it was only a couple feet away from going behind the jet...so he was VERY close

  • theres a mini boom as the jet passed... a low freq so he was AT the speed of sond

  • lol there was no "halo". it was picking up the water from the ocean because it was going so fast

  • not a sonic boom. you can't make sonic booms inside city limits. it would break windows for miles. thas why the concorde only went sonic over the atlantic route from new york to paris

  • holy shit. crazy

  • that was SICK! there was a sonic boom in there, overtaking the sound barrier at 9 seconds, that's what why the jet engine sound overlaps

  • Wrong...only condensed moisture...close but no cigar for the boom

  • See them often as I live in Pensacola, FL their home base, had em buzz me while I was flying my RC plane on one of the old bases runways they let the local RC club use now! Pretty neat seeing them so low without being at a show! Nice

  • That is so fuking cool!!!!

now go so fuking fast and low that the water fly up without touching it!!!!!

  • WOW try water sking behind that thing LOL just the thought of gomer hanging on

  • Balls of steel there :D

  • why would you screem, should be going Yerr! or woooo!.

or do a big grin and then jump up and down after.

  • hella sick.

  • Get out of the way sound.. here I come! Yeeeeha!

  • i woulda wet myself!!! damn
