Its not personal to call you ignorant of the facts young man. You did not live the 20th century and therefore you can dismiss racist past of Ron Paul. I lived in Washington, DC when he said that 95% of black men in the district were criminals. I lived there and not one man in my house had a record as a black man. There is no excuse for not supporting the 1964 civil rights act. Many black people died because they were not afforded protection of law. There is no principle that is okay to condone the mistreatment of a race of people. @Sept11Discovery Smoking at home is o.k. smoking in public whee others don't want to be effected by second hand smoke is not. Besides, it's only the nicotene that smoker's bodies are craving. Why take in all the cacinogens tat go with it. They should smoke the electronic cigarettes that don't emit smoke but give's them their dose of nicotene. non smokers have the right not to be exposed to smoke. Ron Paul is not saying that it is o.k. to go out in public and smoke pot.

But I am sure that he would be in favor of a law against using it while someone is behind the wheel of car. @Sept11Discovery If you don't think that second hand smoke can't kill then you have not seen the stats. Some people can actually have a severe asthmatic reaction to it and die. How do you know which option will make you lose more customers? If you had a "smoking allowed" establishment, you might lose more patrons that are not smokers. Are all drinkers smokers? You can't have the perfect solution unless you have two separately compartmentalized bars in the same establishment.

There can be large signs on the entrace of the building that say "THIS IS A SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT IF YOU HAVE SEVERE ASTMHA ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK"...

You can have a bar owner who decides he wants smoking in his business and another Bar owner who decides he wants non-smoking"...and People can decide for themselves.

The establishment Republicans are basically trying to assassinate his character to avoid the actual issues. As for the Civil Rights Act, Ron Paul is on record as supporting all of it except Title II, because it illegally gives the federal government authority over privately-owned businesses (his opposition has nothing at all to do with race).
