what gun is more common, center or rimfire?? what are the different applications?

@slowride55 Rimfire are now only .22 caliber - they are for short-range target shooting and small critter hunting. Center-fire are for everything else. I can't say which is more common - a lot of people shoot .22s for practice because they are cheaper than center-fire.
