  • yes... i am in one of the FL group... Miami

  • This is awesome. I so wish that I was able to do this I love capoiera I think it's so cool. Beastly talent.

  • Does anyone know this song? Also there are capo groups in NC, VA and GA I know of, FL too...

  • tried caopiera for the first time at the gym yesterday.i really2 like it .....

    p/s: wish i was more flexible...lol

  • Great Clip gotta love these guys

  • i have been trying to find classes in my area with no luck...damn the deep south...

  • This is the most acrobatic man I have ever seen in my life

  • All I can say is WOW !

  • Please understand, before you judge Capoeira for it's "fighting" capabilities. You are seeing a method of training, and developing skills. These people are displaying and testing thier abilities together without fighting. Judging capoiera as a fighting art by this kind of footage is like watching a video of a Karate expert doing a form and then asking "but can he beat people up with it?" It's just a way of training. As you can see, a lot of skill and physical abillity is gained through this art.

  • God, they're so flexible. If I were to do any of that I'd break my back.

  • Ok, then lets see you fight a Capoiera fighter mozart.

  • this is soooo cooool! i didn't know brazilians were still into break dancing!

  • capoiera IS an art

and a way of defending yourself

imagine if they WERE to kick you

  • Jesus that guy was kicking so fast and so hard if anyone catches the receiving end of that to the face its going to be a very very bad day for them

  • There's too much energy wasted in Capoiera. Too many unnecessary movements and the way they bend over to kick leaves them very vulnerable.

  • It is actually because the slaves were trying to teach each other a way to defend themselves, but fighting was not allowed, so they had to make it look like a dance.

  • What's your point?

  • the point is there's no contact because... well... would u kick the #$%^ out of your mates?

  • It is actually because the slaves were trying to teach each other a way to defend themselves, but fighting was not allowed, so they had to make it look like a dance.

  • Also realize that capoiera is an art, along with being a fighting style to some. Although the numbers of practitioners of the fighting style of capoiera are decreasing, it's still around. Most videos around here are performing arts. Like said above, gymnastics.

  • BRAVO

  • go eddie! (tekken)

  • street is the only answer to a martial artist whatever the style.

  • ufc is not (the) final answer to see if a martial art works or not!

  • Sweet video. Thankies much for posting this. :D

  • i wonder if they can go to UFC??

  • So many redundant moves..more like to show off than to have self-defense technique

  • nice
