Impressive bike. I ride a M109 and race a GSXR 600 almost every week. !/8 mile I beat him bad off the line and he's running me down at the end. My 7.58@92 to his 8.0@98 He is learning and finally beat me this week. Thing is I believe he said this was 1/8 mile and a 600 is just not a rocket off the line unless you do everything just right.
If the crotch rockets where running slower than you on the 8th and you were running 7.3's, they were UNexperienced riders...you cant tell by their stance and take off...7.3 is pretty slow on the 8th when you get a real drag racer on a Hayabusa, or a big bore crotch rocket...Not that the Harley is slow BUT..it is not fast compared to a crotch rocket with a experienced rider running 5's to low 6's...you clearly are more experienced, these guys you were racing are newbies..common man,

twins have incredible tourque but on down the line any rocket would blow past the cruiser to the finish. that harley definately can't be stock and drag racing it gives it a very short life expectancy.

I like all bikes. I own a rocket and a cruiser. Either those rockets were 250 ninjas or they were letting you make a video for fun but you would have to be runnin more nitrous than that Harley could ever dream of swallowing to run away from any 600 or 1000 I've ever ridden. this is literally the only place a twin will take most any 4cyls, from a stand still. they're all torque. highway, back street, etc.. sport bikes with smoke a twin any day of the week.

Launching a motorcycle is difficult and takes practice. You're able to get that bike off the line very quickly and cut a good light. A small cc sportbike is hard to not bog down or pull to much of a wheelie off the line. Good job on getting a full harley to go that quick. But, lets see some runs against similar prepped sport bikes with riders that know what they're doing. Also, I would bet the sport bike would still pass in a 1/4.
Why not take on a ZX-14, or a Busa? I'm just curious. I have had terrible launches and still smoked 600's with my measly 998CC GSXR. Hardest part about drag racing a sport bike is that they weren't meant to be dragged. Pretty easy to keep the front tire down on an 1100 lb beast with a long ass wheel base. Personally, I like corners too much for all that. Since the ZX-14 is a sport tourer and very comfortable to ride, I wouldn't mind seeing that comparo. If I'm wrong, then mad props to you

Hilarious... harley should have stopped production in the '50s before the rest of the word outdesigned them. My '77 BMW was in the 13 sec 1/4 mile. No stock Harley could outperform in a straight line OR the turn ! Oh , yeah .. the annoying music.. Ugh.

In true harley poser nature, they dump 15k into a bike to run with STOCK 600's. The BMW puts out 203 hp stock w a pipe and power commander and is only 13k. Why doesn't Harley owner man up and race a like cc and like money dumped into a rocket. Why do you have to put money into an already expensive bike if it is so great in the first place? Harley sells 60 hp for 15k stock? Why.
@badbanshee370 Because we can afford it. We take machines that are design to travel across country and modify them to out run crotch rockets. After a race I can still ride the bike anywhere I want to. I don't have to trailer it to the location that I ride. One of my videos shows the bike racing at night with the tour pak on. Thats because the next morning I rode it 4.5 hours the Deals Gap. The fun part is modifying the 60hp to 160hp.

I have a gsxr 1k and it runs a 9.865 with just being lowered, piped and strapped in the front(about $500). I have a kawasaki zx6r with bolt ons and No spray, no turbos etc, stock gearing will go 10.50's quarter mile all day....you would have to drop a harley off mount rushmore or spend 20,000 dollars to get that LOL...My zx10r will go high 9's all day.

@totaltru you can go to a drag strip and see new 6r's in the 10's stock.. 10.4 is hard but can be done with the right tuning and bolt ons and gear reduction and a great rider.

Nice riding! It looks like most of the street bike riders are pretty green. A rider can make or break a bike on the strip. Go to the track and you will see green riders running high 10's on gsxr 1000's and good riders running high 9's on the same bike.

I ride the dragon several times a year. Last time I was there, I counted 10 cops. That's almost one for every mile. So bring on your 1000 cc ricer and we'll see who can finish the fastest at 30 mph without getting stopped by the law.

@HEMRICKPERFORMANCE its because your belt drive pulley on the back wheel is only 1/2" less that the diameter of the entire back wheel! Harley's are geared like tractors. row through all the gears before 80 mph. I can take a 4 cylinder s10 and put 4.88 gears in the rear diff and a set of slicks and make it eat anything until 60 mph...whats the point...run your harley on top end with the "ricer" bikes and see how you do...

My 07 ZX14 is running a 9.4 1/4 and sub 6 sec 1/8 and best 1.64 60'. Thats no strap and no stretch, stock length. Would it be cool to see a full Harley outrun me in the 1/4 or even 1/8th...hell yeah. I dont see it happening though. Great jub on your Harley though. Launches great although most of the rockets you went up against looked like they had never ridden a bike before. Yea, we work on metric bikes also but most of the metric bike owners are in their 20's and honestly can't afford real performance upgrades. This is why most younger people choose to purchase the cheaper metric performance bikes that are already very quick.
We have a nice Busa on the showroom floor that we built waiting for the customer to pay the bill. I would love to put nitrous on a Destroyer. That would be something!

Another ignorant comment that you made is Once you hit 100mph it's good buy Harley, I don't care how much nitro you load up with. You need to watch the third video in the video response. At the end of the video, it shows the same bike doing a 4th gear roll to 120 mph. The bike is a six speed.
NITRO is short for Nitromethane and is the fuel used in top fuel vehicles. I Googled 0-60 mph times for Goldwings and CBR 600s. The Goldwing is rated 0-60 in 4.4 seconds - the CBR 600 0-60 is 3.5 seconds. That blows your theory of Touring bikes being faster off the line. This bike does 0-60 in 2.3 seconds which is quicker and faster than anything you have. Post some track videos of anything you have and prove me wrong. All talk and no knowlege.

Impressive bike. I ride a M109 and race a GSXR 600 almost every week. !/8 mile I beat him bad off the line and he's running me down at the end. My 7.58@92 to his 8.0@98 He is learning and finally beat me this week. Thing is I believe he said this was 1/8 mile and a 600 is just not a rocket off the line unless you do everything just right.

Launching a motorcycle is difficult and takes practice. You're able to get that bike off the line very quickly and cut a good light. A small cc sportbike is hard to not bog down or pull to much of a wheelie off the line. Good job on getting a full harley to go that quick. But, lets see some runs against similar prepped sport bikes with riders that know what they're doing. Also, I would bet the sport bike would still pass in a 1/4.

Why not take on a ZX-14, or a Busa? I'm just curious. I have had terrible launches and still smoked 600's with my measly 998CC GSXR. Hardest part about drag racing a sport bike is that they weren't meant to be dragged. Pretty easy to keep the front tire down on an 1100 lb beast with a long ass wheel base. Personally, I like corners too much for all that. Since the ZX-14 is a sport tourer and very comfortable to ride, I wouldn't mind seeing that comparo. If I'm wrong, then mad props to you

In true harley poser nature, they dump 15k into a bike to run with STOCK 600's. The BMW puts out 203 hp stock w a pipe and power commander and is only 13k. Why doesn't Harley owner man up and race a like cc and like money dumped into a rocket. Why do you have to put money into an already expensive bike if it is so great in the first place? Harley sells 60 hp for 15k stock? Why.

After a race I can still ride the bike anywhere I want to. I don't have to trailer it to the location that I ride. One of my videos shows the bike racing at night with the tour pak on. Thats because the next morning I rode it 4.5 hours the Deals Gap. The fun part is modifying the 60hp to 160hp.

I have a gsxr 1k and it runs a 9.865 with just being lowered, piped and strapped in the front(about $500). Anyone who thinks a Harley can beat a Jap bike is flat out retarded.........oh and on another note...if you want a TRUE american bike......by a Victory....Harley hasn't been made all American for years. yeah they are, i just got an 09 r6, saw a harley rider trying to pass me up so i gunned it and it was hard to loose him, picked up 116 in just a few secs and i didn't loose him.

Nice to see. Especially with all the shirtless, poser, punk ass, homo's I've seen on crotch rockets this year rubbin' there rockets everytime I'm at a light on my HD Wideglide. These are the same douchebags that try to lump Harley riders into the same category.... but yet the crotch strokers all ride their bikes like they're on crack, with their wheelies, burnouts and needless weaving in and out of traffic. 1. I like bikes, and always had at least 2 in my stable...the HD was the "toy" bike, used for bar hopping.
2. I was part of the HD Herd mentality...thankfully, I outgrew that stage. Now I won't even waste my time or money on another one.

5. my HD riding buddies have to stop every 100 miles to rest on EVERY single ride I've EVER been on with them.
6. i have less money tied up between my FJR and my Vstrom than I do in my Deuce....sad!!
7. When I want to seriously ride, I take out the FJR or Strom..when I want to "play ride", i do the Deuce (mostly bar hopping, thats really all its good for)
8. I was raised on HD's, but that dont make me unrealistic..HD is WAY behind the curve on EVERYTHING

Not sure where to begin with my post.
1. I own a 2004 HD Deuce, a 2008 Yamaha FJR 1300, and a 2005 Vstrom 1000.
2. I ride about 80% of my rides with HD riders
3. HD sucks ass when it comes to performance compared to my FJR or my Vstrom (performance = accel, decel, turning & comfort[rideablitiy])
4. Hemrick talks about "crotch rockets" having to be trailered after 100 miles - funny statement, since trailers and HD are synonomous!

Nice riding! It looks like most of the street bike riders are pretty green. A rider can make or break a bike on the strip. Go to the track and you will see green riders running high 10's on gsxr 1000's and good riders running high 9's on the same bike.

I'm a "ricer" and thats a hell of a HD w/ one hell of a rider!! While it looks like your running rookies, I have buddies that turn low 7's on 600's w/ sprocket change in the 1/8th w/o nitrous. In the real world, I would race any ricer from stop to stop light. That would be shorter than this 1/8 mile race. This bagger and rider weighs 1100+ pounds. Double your weight of the R1 ricer and see well it does. Yea that's right, that is a cross country touring bike kicking crotch rocket ass.. Put a Gold Wing on the track an see how well it does.

My point exactly! Give that Gold Wing a shot of nitrous and let's see what it will do. No one is doing that so I have to race crotch rockets. The same goes for the smart car. I' would be more than happy to race a Smart car with a Busa engine. That would be a great You Tube Video. @HEMRICKPERFORMANCE its because your belt drive pulley on the back wheel is only 1/2" less that the diameter of the entire back wheel! Harley's are geared like tractors. row through all the gears before 80 mph. I can take a 4 cylinder s10 and put 4.88 gears in the rear diff and a set of slicks and make it eat anything until 60 mph...whats the point...run your harley on top end with the "ricer" bikes and see how you do...

That was a hoot! The H-D with the saddle bags just kicked some jap-scrap butt. But you have to admit that the H-D is not stock and yea the rider has spent some time on the drag strip. None the less, I always root for the sleepers ;) Great video.

My 07 ZX14 is running a 9.4 1/4 and sub 6 sec 1/8 and best 1.64 60'. Thats no strap and no stretch, stock length. Would it be cool to see a full Harley outrun me in the 1/4 or even 1/8th...hell yeah. I dont see it happening though. Great jub on your Harley though. Launches great although most of the rockets you went up against looked like they had never ridden a bike before. F#ckin pathetic launches.

Yea, we work on metric bikes also but most of the metric bike owners are in their 20's and honestly can't afford real performance upgrades. This is why most younger people choose to purchase the cheaper metric performance bikes that are already very quick.
We have a nice Busa on the showroom floor that we built waiting for the customer to pay the bill. I would love to put nitrous on a Destroyer. That would be something!

Hate Creed, Not the biggest Harley fan, But, have respect for the history and the brand.
Your Harley is no joke, kudos on the motor work. Hard to beat a bike that can run the strip, and then run NYC to SF.
I come in at 6'2 338, ride a B-King.
Sat on a GSXR1000, and my wife, our friends daughter, and THE SHOP STAFF, all had a great laugh at that.
Point there? Not all bikes fit all people.
Side note: Talked to people at the HD dealer, was looking @ a Vrod before I bought the B. TBC

Any cruiser should blow away a sport bike in an 1/8 mile. The truely sad thing is that it takes a working over and nitro for a harley to do it.
Cruisers are quick, sport bikes are fast.
Once you hit 100mph it's good buy Harley, I don't care how much nitro you load up with.
Sport bikes on a drag strip is like a dragster on a NASCAR track.

Another ignorant comment that you made is Once you hit 100mph it's good buy Harley, I don't care how much nitro you load up with. You need to watch the third video in the video response. At the end of the video, it shows the same bike doing a 4th gear roll to 120 mph. The bike is a six speed.

NITRO is short for Nitromethane and is the fuel used in top fuel vehicles. I Googled 0-60 mph times for Goldwings and CBR 600s. The Goldwing is rated 0-60 in 4.4 seconds - the CBR 600 0-60 is 3.5 seconds. That blows your theory of Touring bikes being faster off the line. This bike does 0-60 in 2.3 seconds which is quicker and faster than anything you have. Post some track videos of anything you have and prove me wrong. All talk and no knowlege.
